The Quality Hotel Lakeside was a convenient location to the sporting complex and not far from the main street. Lots of options to eat as a family. We ate at the Lakeside and had good meals. The room was bigger than expected and they were happy to bring extra towels and help when needed.

My wife and I stayed at this Quality hotel for one night. The hotel is located on the main road through Bendigo - High Street, conveniently and directly across the road from Lake Weeroona. It’s a very short drive from the Bendigo CBD.
On arrival after 2pm we were handed our key and informed that our room was located at the end of the courtyard. On opening the door I saw the bed unmade and a tray of food sitting next to it. I returned to reception and asked for another room. The staff were very apologetic and as such, we were allocated another room in the same area. The rooms are standard but comfortable and clean. I would have given this hotel a higher rating if it wasn’t for the train line located directly behind our room. We had V-Line and freight trains keeping us awake during the night and into the morning. Also, although the room has black out blinds, there are no pelmets fitted to keep out the external room/courtyard lighting. I prefer dark rooms when sleeping. I’ve stayed at various other motels in Bendigo with better sleeping conditions than that we experienced at this hotel.
There are two types of accommodation available, firstly the rooms located at the rear of the reception/Restaurant/conference rooms (courtyard) are the older rooms as I described above. The newer rooms are located above the reception and fronting High St looking at Lake Weeroona. Then were rooms are dearer in price.
The hotel has conference facilities, a restaurant, outdoor pool and a nice bbq area in the middle of the courtyard.

Stayed a night passing through from Adelaide to Sydney. My adult son and I were upgraded totally for free and without asking to a luxurious room which was spotless, huge, minimalist furniture style. Such good value. We needed a twin room, and the room provided had a separate bedroom entirely for the second queen sized bed! We ate at the restaurant downstairs, where the service was good and the quality, presentation as well as the actual cooking skills of the chef were all top class. There was ample non-allocated parking on site. Very pleased and would stay again.

We booked this hotel based on good reviews here but we might have booked the wrong room type as the courtyard room is quite rundown. The front part of the building is very modern, check in was a breeze.
However, the courtyard room is actually ‘motel’ type room that has low ceiling. We were greeted with a ceiling lamp with 2 daylight bulb and 1 warm white bulb. They can’t even replace the the same colour light bulbs for one lamp.
The room was for 1 queen bed and 1 single bed, however, the single bed is actually a rollaway bed which is not so comfy. There is a leftover bottle under bed, not sure how long it has been sitting there. The train tracks are right behind our room, very noisy in the morning as you can imagine. The worst is the plumbing of the toilet, we can not get the right water temperature, because no matter how we adjust the tap, the water temperature is either too hot or too cold.
We stayed in three different hotels during our trip to Bendigo as we can’t book consecutive nights due to long weekend. This is the worst among the three. We paid around $185 for this room, really not value for money.

We stayed in a top (3rd) floor 1 bedroom apartment. The room was huge, spacious and light and airy. The kitchen was well kitted, although we mainly had restaurant meals during our 4 day break. Only downside was a small and sad looking bar fridge for keeping things cool. We had no outside noise at all that disturbed us, apart from the odd train whistle form a near by train line.
Staff were great. Front desk staff were always up for a quick chat, housekeeping staff remembered us from time to time and we had an enjoyable repour with them.
Generally the rooms are either north or south facing, apart from just a couple at front of building that face west. If you like a bit of sun, maybe request a north or west facing room.
Location is opposite the popular Lake Weeroona. There are plenty of walks and trails to be explored from this point. A bike ride up to Crusoe Reservoir is a great way to start the day.
We have now added this hotel to our list of regulars that we visit in regional Victoria.

Friendly staff but the worst bed in Australia. The hotel presents well. Not the best for disability access if you have a scooter. In terms of the room. It’s basic. For a 4 star hotel I would expect they use decent appliances $6 kettles and toasters doesn’t spell quality to me. The room was freezing however the aircon is right above the bed so you can’t leave it on overnight or you dry out. No food options due to COVID. Service was very limited. We left the hotel early after having a 3 month booking. Lots of room for improvement. We stay at lots of hotels and this was by far one we won’t be returning to. The bed was the hardest and most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. This was the main reason we decided to leave early.

I've travelled and stayed here many times for business, the service, quality and meals have all declined greatly. They no longer care or are customer focused and seek maximum profit from all clients. Their lack of understanding and patience to accommodate means I will no longer book anything at this establishment. I would not recommend staying here.

We are a couple who stayed here for 3 nights, from 28-31 December. It was excellent: a large new wing (opened in April 2019), a very large room (room 101 - we were given a complimentary upgrade), large bathroom, good toiletries, lots of seating in our room, very friendly and helpful staff (especially Nick), a free laundry on each floor (each with 2 new washing machines and 2 clothes dryers, plus free sachets of laundry powder), plenty of parking spaces (about half of which are undercover), several newspapers available in the reception area each morning.
When I asked if my heat pack could be heated in the restaurant's microwave, reception lent us a microwave for the duration of our stay. They have several microwaves available for guests who would like one in their room.
The hotel location is good: directly opposite Bendigo's main lake (Lake Weeroona) and on the main road leading into the city centre (1.7km away).
We didn't have any meals at the hotel, so cannot review the restaurant, other than to say that it is large and modern.
My only criticism is that the hotel's small swimming pool is only big enough to cool down in or for kids to play; it is no use for exercise.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and will definitely stay here again if we are in Bendigo again.

Last stay here I was up the back row of rooms parallel with the train track and didn't enjoy it. This time they put me in the main building on the second floor, so the room was far newer and no train noises to worry about. Only thing I didn't like was the door between two rooms, as next door it sounded like several young people were having a get together/small party, as very noisy! Otherwise the room was very spacious, clean and fine as was. Plenty of parking around, looked like enough for every room, which was better than some other accommodations I have stayed at in Bendigo. Restaurant was closed at the time due to covid, so not even room service available, but some local takeaways still delivered instead. There was no breakfast available at the time, either, due to covid. I would consider staying here again, but not in a room near the train track!!

Nice, clean hotel and fantastic helpful staff. If you are a light sleeper or looking to get a good night sleep do not stay here. I stayed on level one and it was so noisy. The rooms aren’t sound proved. You can hear people walking and talking along the corridor. . There is also a gap under the door, so the light from the corridor shines in . At 3 AM you can hear the traffic and then the garbage bin gets emptied very early in the morning. It’s very noisy.
