Detailed Reviews
The location here is perfect – a few minutes from the railway station, and only 5-10 minutes walk from the main city centre. There is an excellent pub next door and a very pleasant cafe over the road.
Although I’d booked a “standard room” it felt more like a small apartment – with a sitting and dining area, a good size kitchenette (microwave, huge fridge, gas hob etc … no oven) and a big bathroom. The wifi was good and I found the bed very comfortable.
A few small negatives … My room was next to the pub and the sound-proofing was poor so I could hear music (though not late and not excessive). Also, the room and furnishings were a little shabby in paces and in need of some maintenance.
So it’s 4 stars instead of 5. But I’ll certainly consider staying there again.

Staff are always very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are nice and clean, great facilities too.
The TV has chrome cast so you can watch whatever you like. I find other places in ballarat don’t offer this.
There are snacks and drinks stocked in the fridge
Bed is really comfy and the rates are really well priced. I stay here whenever I need to

We were lucky to secure a deluxe spa suite through booking.com with only a few days notice.
Check in was simple & the accommodation was easy to find & well sign posted once arrived.
The room was quite spacious for the 3 of us & suited our needs.
However, it did lack some basic cooking utensils for a room advertised as having a kitchenette.
We were a travelling party of 3. The room only had 2 bowls, 2 coffee cups, 2 spoons & 2 forks. No chopping board or tongs also made it quite hard to cook a basic meal whilst away. The free wifi was good, but it did cut in & out on the smart tv quite often.
On a positive, the shower pressure was good & the bed comfortable. There was even an electric blanket on the main bed.
The area seemed safe & was quiet at night.
Would I stay again, yes… but I would be more prepared with what to bring.

I arrived early and rang to see if the room was available. They said it would be in half an hour. I arrived at my room at 12:30, the air conditioner was turned on and the room was warm. The room was larger than I expected and very comfortable and I was able to cook meals - perfect for a 4 day stay. It was walking distance to the city and the Regent Theatre. I had to leave after one night due to COVID lockdown. Because I had booked on their website, they refunded the time I didn’t stay within 24 hours.

Seymours looked nothing special from the outside but we were ever so pleased when we got into our upstairs room. Number 10 to be specific.
Spotless throughout. Plenty of bathroom supplies.
The kitchen had all we needed in kettle microwave small cooktop oven on the bench.
There was a wall heater and aircon and large screen TV.
Dealing with the manager was very pleasant. Warm and friendly and the location was really good as well near the Centre of Ballarat.
Won’t bother going to google next time….. straight to Seymour’s on Lydiard for us.
Thank you Rong.

Stayed 4 nights in a superior suite. The room is 39sq m which is reasonably spacious given it has two double beds, a sofa, a small kitchen table with 4 chairs and a writing bench along one wall.
It comes with the usual kitchen appliances, microwave, small cook top with oven and fridge. Tea and coffee sachets are provided. If self catering the food preparation area is quite limited as the appliances take up all the kitchen bench.
There is a wall heater and an air conditioner. The beds were reasonably comfortable. There is no safe in the room.
The room is comfortable enough although there is no balcony or windows that can be fully opened so unless the door is kept open fresh air is limited.
The place is very convenient to downtown and the station. A stroll to downtown is around 10 minutes.
One issue was the noise on the Friday night - whether it was noisy people in the next door pub or noisy Friday night guests away for the weekend I don't know but there were some rowdy types disturbing the peace.
I'd stay here again but probably only during the week.

My sister and I recently stayed here to attend a family funeral. We were allocated room 10 which had two queen size beds and a kitchenette. We originally booked for a queen and a single with no kitchen facilities therefore pleasantly surprised by the upgrade. It even had a couch to watch tv instead of sitting in uncomfortable chairs or on the bed. The room was very clean and tidy and the staff very helpful. You can eat dinner and breakfast at the adjoining pub.

We stayed for 4 nights over Christmas and Rong was extremely helpful and kind when she happily changed our room to ground floor to assist my husband who has mobility issues. She also helped with our luggage which was lovely. The Motel is handy to the city - a short walk away.

Located in easy walking from the main part of Ballarat the place was very comfortable and cosy. The room was well appointed and had good cooking facilities and very comfortable bed. The bathroom came with a spa, very handy after a day full of walking. Would definitely stay there again.

This is a motel off the Main Street, not a residential home
Not sure how many rooms this motel has
Hi Kathy that shouldn't be a problem but you will just need to give us a call to figure out. Please call on 5332 9966 to discuss.
Thanks
Hi Pauline - Thanks for your enquiry. I will give you a call regarding your dates to discuss your options- All children using existing bedding stay free and portacots and provided free of charge. The only room they probably are not suitable for is the standard room as it may make it a little cramped... fortuantely all other rooms have plenty of room for this!
The deluxe suite has the tv in the bathroom. A very nice little villa if you want a bit more room. Enjoy.
Good afternoon, we are less than a 5 minute walk and located behind our restaurant which a historic building (1800's and I have a history book regarding the original hotel) and where the accommodation is located was where the original 'Hope Bakery' was situated all in historical Lydiard Street where some of the most amazing historical buildings are located all within a short stroll of us. I hope this helps. Kind regards, seymours on lydiard.
