My husband and I recently enjoyed a special celebration at Craig's Royal Hotel. Our room was small but beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance of the hotel with it's magnificent staircase and gorgeous old photos. We also enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the lounge where we enjoyed a pre-dinner drink. The staff were friendly and helpful...

Visited here recently for dinner with my wife. The restaurant is beautiful, especially at night. The decor and ambience exudes charm. The staff are friendly and professional and the food was very good. Even the wine list isn't too expensive for a restaurant of this calibre. Definitely recommend!

Craig's Royal Hotel has returned to its glory days in the last couple of years with extensive renovations of the guest rooms, which have both modernised them and retained their heritage value. I have never stayed overnight, but I have visited several times. Food is variable and the High Tea is good value. Check if bookings are necessary. The bars offer...

Just magnificent. 2nd time at Craig's Royal, and it won't be the last. It is more than a hotel - it is an experience. The building, decor, rooms, furniture, and fittings, are all the perfect way to immerse into true Victorian era living. All the little touches are there, and the service is attentive, courteous, warm, and personal. What really...

If not for the ambiance I would have rated this hotel lower. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable but our order was not completely filled and we waited an hour for our meal. Then after waiting a further 20 for our gelato desert, we cancelled and settled the bill. Maybe better for lunch?

Booked a package mid week at this hotel which included room, 2 course dinner with bottle of wine, continental breakfast, valet parking and late checkout. The hotel has been fully refurbished in the last few years and is beautiful. Our room was very comfortable and the bathroom was a good size with lovely period decoration. We had dinner in the...

sandwiches were room temperature and bread starting to dry. I was worried how long they had been sitting out before service. scones nice but our table all agreed jam was bitter. cakes were tasteless and looked unappealing and commercially made. overall 4/10. coffee was 'McDonald's' quality and tea had no real leaves in the tea pot. Earl grey was so...

We are very sorry that you didn't enjoy your High Tea experience. I do note for your information that:- High Tea is served at 3pm and whilst most guests arrive around that time, many of your party were much later - arriving about 1 hour later. We did delay serving the afternoon tea at the table as fresh sandwiches do...

This is the oldest hotel in Ballarat and worth the experience just to see the grandeur and know you are amongst the ghosts of the rich and famous. The beautiful wallpaper, the foyer tiling, the Chesterfield couches, the upstairs dining room, upstairs reading room and conservatory restaurant are all worth seeing for their general opulence. We stayed in one of...
