Detailed Reviews
We enjoyed our stay at the Bell Tower.
Our two adjacent rooms were spacious, with very comfortable beds, good lighting options and good bathrooms (one with a bath spa). We appreciated the small ‘kitchen’ table and sofa in each, and split system heating during unseasonably cold weather. A few shops are within walking distance and it’s about a 5-7 minute drive to the city.
We appreciated the motel offering a pet-friendly room. We were there for the one night only so did not use all the amenities or the on-site restaurant. Helpful, friendly service. And the price we paid seemed very competitive given Ballarat’s popularity.
One can imagine the complex and rooms being progressively updated / refreshed, and it would be good if the Bell Tower offered recycling bins. Overall, a very good experience.

We stayed at the Bell Tower Inn over Easter. Rooms are very spacious and have a large bathroom too. Parking is right outside your room so that’s great. Has a bar fridge, microwave and tea coffee making too and a toaster which was great. We ate at the restaurant on site which has a great menu. They deliver food to the room too if you feel like it. We actually ended up checking out early which was a shame as we had chain smokers next door ( they are allowed to smoke right outside the room) and the smoke got into our room so that really got to us and we had to leave. They also need to provide some recycle bins. They don’t recycle anything there so lots going to landfill which is a shame. They really need to have a designated smoking area away from the rooms. Apart from that we were very happy with the hotel.

The Rooms large, clean, comfy, some needed to be updated but still in good condition. Pool, go in later in the day it gets warmer as the day gose on. Meals in the restaurant, wow, we had 2 of the share platters, they say for 2 people so we ordered 2 diffrent ones as there was for of us, we did not finish either of them. See pics.Thank you to the hotel we had a large group join us 24people in total and they were very accommodating they make sure we all together in the one area, which are beautiful grass area at the front where we could sit and have a few drinks a chat and a relax. They had a place for our caravan, as we were travelling afterwards so it didn't have to stay on the street. They also have a laundry for guests to use. Will stay again.

Lovely helpful friendly staff at receptionist. Large roomy well-appointed room, which seemed recently refurbished. Very pleased to be allowed our small dog to stay in the dog friendly room with us for a reasonably $20 fee. Nice quiet location. Would definitely stay on next visit to Ballarat.

I could not rate this hotel highly enough. My partner and I had booked this place to stay only months out from the Summer Salt Festival on the weekend just gone and struggling to find somewhere to stay with also the swap meet on, Melbourne Storm family pre-season game on at Mars Stadium and another event on we managed to stay here rather than the Ambassador down the road (due to being booked out) we had our friend who has a disability come along too and the staff were absolutely accommodating and even upgraded our room for us. The facilities were great (although we didn’t get to use them, most definitely will next time) through to the staff were nothing short of exceptional. Highly recommend, and the quality of rooms were great as well.

We stayed for a weekend as we had booked Sovereign Hill tickets. We stayed a couple of years ago. We had a 2 bedroom apartment. Tv in both rooms, bar fridge and table set for 4 plus a 2 seater couch. Bed was fine. Rooms were clean (looks like refurbished as carpets cleanetc). Shower was hot. Bathroom was very dated though. Indoor pool was good fun, lots of families swimming and enjoying their holiday which was nice.
Breakfast was cheap for a hotel, it was ok, could do with something a bit more ie pancakes or Danish. Also, it would be great to offer actual barista type coffee at breakfast (id be more than happy to pay). I did ask first day but never received it. Second day, they couldn't work the machine.
If the bathrooms updated, put in a play ground or jumping pillow, it would have everything!
Special mention for receptionist Pearl, she was so lovely, she bought up a bottle opener on first night and fresh towels as requested. She was so cheery and friendly, even had a quick chat. Made my day. Thanks Pearl.

Very bad.
-My room-service food was ordered to me ten minutes late
-Dust and crumbs all in the bed
-There were two dead cockroaches in the shower
-A broken wine glass at the front door upon arrival
-TV had a broken screen and wires sticking out everywhere
-Suspicious brown stains on the carpet near the couch
-My room was also possibly haunted, bathroom door kept opening by itself
-Bad odour when I went to open the bed sheets like the sheets hadn't been washed in a year
-For some reason the bathroom sink water was a yellow..ish colour
-There were eight bathroom towels, four of which were laying on the shower floor!? For whatever reason...???
-Fat chef restaurant nearly killed me with the amount of hair through my food
-Toddler next door kept crying and screaming
-My room hadn't obviously been cleaned. Fingernails/toenails were on the couch
-I also had to parallel park before entering my motel room which was an absolute nightmare. Nearly crashed my car five times into a pot plant that was WAY TOO close to carpark practically on the carpark I should say.

Our crew of 8 Tradie’s stayed here 3 nights over a period of a month. Each time, the Bell Tower Inn host Marlene and her team where efficient, and so easy to deal with via email. The price for rooms is very very reasonable. The bed sheets are luxurious and the mattress & pillow quality on the beds are in very good condition ie/ no lumps or bumps as one can experience elsewhere. Hot breakfast was fantastic. Indoor pool was clean, and warm. The restaurant next door is big and great quality for more convenience. It’s a great place to stay.

Garden setting is a plus. For Squirrel Gliders too & I shall upload the one I caught as it shot across the lawn on a bleak day. They are endangered so I called Ballarat Wildlife who sent emma straight away to take it somewhere safe & warm.
Room was excellent, great reading lamps, this was my 3rd stay here.

Value for money was ok. Tired rooms. Whole place is out of 70’s or early 80’s. Bed was comfy. Steaming hot shower, good aircon and handy to city. The taxi to and from the city centre was about the same as if we’d stayed in the city. Ballarat was booked out though.
