Needed a last minute accomodation, the man at the front desk was very friendly and nice. The room was exactly as we needed. Stayed 2 nights and suited us perfectly, spacious room, the bathroom was extremely clean and well looked after. The only downside the entrance to our room reaked of cigarettes and so did one of the towels in the bathroom, other than this it was a perfect location and would definitely stay again!
Very impressed with this property. Room was reasonably priced, plenty of room to move, a well appointed kitchenette, comfortable bed, central location (so much within walking distance) and most impressively, the shower was first class - best shower I’ve EVER used. The parking was really tight but ok once you’re in. Would stay here again for sure.
We were staying here for two nights. On the first night I discovered that the blanket provided had a couple of large stains ( food ? Or yuck maybe semen???) in the morning I made a point of visiting reception to inform that I would be putting the blanket along with our wet towels on the bathroom floor to be replaced. I was told “of course, no problem!” When we returned to our room that night the towels had bern replaced but the blanket had been refolded and placed back on our bed! Yuck!!!!!!
We went to ballarat for the weekend and stayed at this place. When we arrived we got a warm welcome got our key and found our room. The room was very spacious but little furniture . It had a sink full fridge and plates etc. Kettle toaster and microwave No cooking facilities. It had a bench with 2 lttle stool where you can eat. The bed was so comfy and warm. The bath room was spacious, clean and the shower was fantastic. . There was no information as to what to do or where to eat in ballart. It was pretty basic and i would stay again if we went to ballarat. But you would have to make up your own mind.
My wife booked a room using Wotif and clearly mentioned in the booking “two adults, one child under two year old” So we get booked into a double story room with a steep staircase. I asked the manager to book us into a single story room and gave a pretty clear reason as to why (eg unsuitable for a child under 2). So that should have offered a little hint that we had a young baby to take care of. So he changed our room to a single story no problem - so I thought. Only problem was that the room had a queen bed and absolutely nothing for the baby. Not even a sofa bed. No problem I thought I’ll go ask for a cot or an extra bed. Well, the manager wasn’t interested in assisting us any further. He demanded to see my phone with the booking details, and I obliged him - more on that later. I Pointed out to him the booking details for “2 adults plus child”. He couldn’t have cared less. As far as he was concerned my wife had booked a room with a queen bed and that was all we are getting and that was the end of the matter. Didn’t matter to him that the hotel was capable of offering a cot for an extra 25 dollars, at no stage did he mention that to me as an option, basically treated me like I was now an inconvenience to him. I was a bit flabbergasted to be honest. I asked him “where do you expect our baby to sleep” and of course he was not interested… Anyways, I mentioned this to my wife who was as posted off as I was and took matters into her own hands and went and grabbed a mattress from the room we had just vacated. I admit my wife probably crossed a line here but she was furious. Well didn’t that start a shouting match lol, he came running over with his bee in a bonnet. Never in his life had someone moved a mattress from another room he reckoned. Well there is a first for everything mate. Never in my life have I been told by hotel management that they expect my baby to sleep on the floor. He accused me in front of my wife of not showing him the booking when I had clearly done so, one of the most blatant lies I have experienced in my life. We told him we wanted a full refund and he refused and charged us a 50 dollar cleaning fee. All this could have been avoided if he has offered us the portable cot that his more intelligent, emotionally mature, and capable female assistant came over to offer us shortly after the argument. But by then it was too late. Perhaps instead of worrying about saving face mate you should let her run the joint instead because she clearly understands the value of customer service better then you do. I’ve just paid 50 bucks for the privilege of giving your establishment a one star review. I hope this serves as a warning to other families with little children.…
