We were pleasantly surprised with this place. The bathroom looked like it was recently modernised and featured a doorless rain-head shower. There was a lot of counter space to leave items on which I always find an important detail as well as a good size drying rack.

As for the bedroom, it was a nice big room. There were plenty of power-points and a nice table for extra items. There was also a surprise view of the town from the adorable French arched window.

We were pleasantly surprised to discover they gave us a room with a kitchen and living room so we managed to enjoy those spaces as well, which like the rest of the place was very nicely sized and modern.

The only negative we came across was the temperature. Ballarat gets very cold and we found that we had to run both heaters (one downstairs and upstairs) to warm up the place, especially since it was a high ceiling loft. It would be great if there was more building insulation with double-glazing so this wouldn’t be a necessity but I guess until that happens you have to blast the heater as the heat just seems to escape.

All and all this was a lovely stay and I highly recommend it.

Very impressed with this property. Room was reasonably priced, plenty of room to move, a well appointed kitchenette, comfortable bed, central location (so much within walking distance) and most impressively, the shower was first class - best shower I’ve EVER used.

The parking was really tight but ok once you’re in.

Would stay here again for sure.

Needed a last minute accomodation, the man at the front desk was very friendly and nice. The room was exactly as we needed. Stayed 2 nights and suited us perfectly, spacious room, the bathroom was extremely clean and well looked after. The only downside the entrance to our room reaked of cigarettes and so did one of the towels in the bathroom, other than this it was a perfect location and would definitely stay again!

My wife booked a room using Wotif and clearly mentioned in the booking “two adults, one child under two year old”
So we get booked into a double story room with a steep staircase. I asked the manager to book us into a single story room and gave a pretty clear reason as to why (eg unsuitable for a child under 2). So that should have offered a little hint that we had a young baby to take care of. So he changed our room to a single story no problem - so I thought.

Only problem was that the room had a queen bed and absolutely nothing for the baby. Not even a sofa bed. No problem I thought I’ll go ask for a cot or an extra bed.

Well, the manager wasn’t interested in assisting us any further. He demanded to see my phone with the booking details, and I obliged him - more on that later. I Pointed out to him the booking details for “2 adults plus child”. He couldn’t have cared less. As far as he was concerned my wife had booked a room with a queen bed and that was all we are getting and that was the end of the matter. Didn’t matter to him that the hotel was capable of offering a cot for an extra 25 dollars, at no stage did he mention that to me as an option, basically treated me like I was now an inconvenience to him. I was a bit flabbergasted to be honest. I asked him “where do you expect our baby to sleep” and of course he was not interested…

Anyways, I mentioned this to my wife who was as posted off as I was and took matters into her own hands and went and grabbed a mattress from the room we had just vacated. I admit my wife probably crossed a line here but she was furious. Well didn’t that start a shouting match lol, he came running over with his bee in a bonnet. Never in his life had someone moved a mattress from another room he reckoned. Well there is a first for everything mate. Never in my life have I been told by hotel management that they expect my baby to sleep on the floor. He accused me in front of my wife of not showing him the booking when I had clearly done so, one of the most blatant lies I have experienced in my life.

We told him we wanted a full refund and he refused and charged us a 50 dollar cleaning fee.

All this could have been avoided if he has offered us the portable cot that his more intelligent, emotionally mature, and capable female assistant came over to offer us shortly after the argument. But by then it was too late. Perhaps instead of worrying about saving face mate you should let her run the joint instead because she clearly understands the value of customer service better then you do.

I’ve just paid 50 bucks for the privilege of giving your establishment a one star review. I hope this serves as a warning to other families with little children.

The room was clean and it was quiet at night. No breakfast offered. The person on reception was abrupt. Reception wasn’t open when we arrived so I phone the number on the door and through the broken English I could decipher that they were cleaning the rooms. When I asked about what to do for breakfast he just shrugged and said I don’t know and asked if I want to cancel the booking. There was a man walking around the parking lot in his undies, left me wondering what the hotel is used for.
Parking is a bit tight.

We were staying here for two nights. On the first night I discovered that the blanket provided had a couple of large stains ( food ? Or yuck maybe semen???) in the morning I made a point of visiting reception to inform that I would be putting the blanket along with our wet towels on the bathroom floor to be replaced. I was told “of course, no problem!” When we returned to our room that night the towels had bern replaced but the blanket had been refolded and placed back on our bed! Yuck!!!!!!

The room was clean, bed comfy and a hot shower. Very basic inside. After two showers, it had leaked through to the lounge and soaked the carpet. We had to block the front door surrounds with the extra pillows as the draft blowing through was very loud and kept waking us up! A sign on reception door said it was closed, please call. The phone was answered by fellow sitting at reception desk that we could see through window, he requested we come in, when asking about sign on the door, he ignored us. Car parking is rather tight, if you have a largish car. Cleaners were quite noisy early in the morning. This will certainly not be my first choice when looking to stay in Ballarat again, not good value for $$$

The room was decent but slightly dirty with stained blankets and hairs in the bath tub, should of seen that as a warning sign and stayed AWAY from the spa bath! After sitting in the bath for a few minutes with the jets on I was concerned as they were not working, all of a sudden a piece of pink rubber that looked like flesh appeared in the water, assuming it came out of the jets I quickly got out and opened the door to the baths filter, inside was rubbish and a FLESH LIGHT.. putting two and two together, someone has used this adult toy in the bath, broken it and possibly shoved it in the jets and then dumped it in the filter compartment and now myself and possibly guests before have bathed in someones used toy. With this said the blame can not be put fully on the hotel as they wouldn’t of known it was in there but it was very obvious the room has not been correctly cleaned.

We went to ballarat for the weekend and stayed at this place. When we arrived we got a warm welcome got our key and found our room. The room was very spacious but little furniture . It had a sink full fridge and plates etc. Kettle toaster and microwave
No cooking facilities. It had a bench with 2 lttle stool where you can eat. The bed was so comfy and warm. The bath room was spacious, clean and the shower was fantastic. . There was no information as to what to do or where to eat in ballart. It was pretty basic and i would stay again if we went to ballarat. But you would have to make up your own mind.

Clean but very sparse. Open lounge & kitchen. Kitchen has very little regarding kitchen ware. Very disappointing. Bathroom roomy however the spa which it advertised isn’t working. Separate bedroom with king size bed which is comfortable.
