Detailed Reviews
Well what can I say? I slept well and I was warm but that’s where the positives stop.
Upon entering the Motel there are two speed humps at entrance. Yes I understand these will be to help slow down but I’m sure having them the size of an adult cat high isn’t necessary nor safe for those smaller vehicles and especially if you’re not perfectly lined up straight!
Next was the room well it was obvious there had been some changes made but poor ones at that.
Being a Kmart lover I literally looked at 90% of the room and it was Kmart. Not hating on it but not a lot of thought gone into it.
The bathroom well let’s start with the pieces of hair balls on the ground yep and I can confidently say not mine! 😳
Next was the door to the bathroom, clearly something had happened to it earlier because it was not a clean close.
Next comes the shower well apart from the weird doors, the base of the shower all I can say is tread carefully because I sure felt like any move I made I was about to go through it.
The shower head wow so instead of doing correct plumbing and filling in the hole they have placed bits of bark, yes you heard me bark to ‘secure’ the shower head! 🤣
Onto breakfast in the red shed. A few plastic tables, mismatched chairs (felt closer to the floor than the table), plastic flowers and multiple signs of ‘don’t take anything away we are watching.’
You had three toasters, buckets of bread, cereal, condiments, one kettle (why no more or one of the industrial ones I don’t understand), juice and milk in the fridge. You place your cutlery and plates in one tub and cups in another. I felt like I was at a school camp. I’ve had better experiences and setups on Scout camps 🤣
So in summary will I be back? Not a chance! Thanks for keeping me warm though 🤷🏻♀️

Basic accommodation , clean small comfortable adequate.
We had a double bed, a small table 2 chairs a moderate sized fridge toaster, kettle , microwave, plates and cutlery , private bathroom, with good shower, towels shampoo conditioner large tv etc.
Its your basic 1970/1980 motel. Had some paint and its functional and clean.
Having just forked out 260+ for not much more than this, at $110 p night it was fine. It is a Motel, you need to get in your car to get anywhere. There is a decent Fish and Chip shop 4 mins walk, Asian grocery and the RSL club across the road..least I think.
Its a "clean and comfortable night stay"
It is what it is, stay go. Its priced as such..I couldn't fault the cleanliness, it had a split system, we were warm, had kettle toaster and microwave. Perfectly adequate for a night sleep on the journey to somewhere else.
Side note...the owner, I assume, has several cats, they are friendly. like open your door, one wanders in..hops on bed..have a pat. Having said that if your not a cat person, and shooed it away, I think they would just wander off. But if allergic something to know. Basic and clean ..its a place to sleep and shower, not a destination ...

The motel definitely need some upgrade but overall is clean. Our room has a double bed and 4 single beds.
You can enjoy breakfast from 7am-9am. Very clean common dining area. Selection includes breads, variety of cereals, milk, coffee, tea.
There is a bbq pit located in the property.
Very small pool in the middle of the property compound if you are keen for a dip.

No refund given for a cancelled trip. Cancellation policy is not communicated until after you’ve paid. Terrible customer service given to a repeat customer.
The booking company clearly states it’s up to the motel to decide on the refund.
You can fix the issue.

The Asian gentleman who I presume is the owner/manager is the most difficult person I have ever dealt with in my entire life. When I booked our stay I paid for the room which was a month prior and paid for an early check in. On arrival the room had been given to another person as they were mistaken for myself but the manager was unable to match their card to our booking. The manager then proceeded to demand payment for the room plus the early check in fee before the money was returned to my account ( the refund went in the next day at lunch time ). We decided not to stay at the Avenue Motel and push on to Melbourne as the manager made us feel so uncomfortable as we argued in the driveway with my wife and son looking on.

When you make a booking here make sure that you double check that you can get a refund if you have to cancel. Was travelling here for a basketball tournament from interstate. Due to Victoria’s current situation with COVID the tournament was cancelled. Being told that I have a credit that last 3 months is just outrageous. The only reason I was going to Ballarat was for a tournament. Would never ever pick this place again

Exceeded expectation, room was small but had everything needed including a large refrigerator, good air conditioning, table, chairs and TV.
Continental breakfast was simple but sufficient.
Ample parking and walking distance to the Golf Club.

This is an older style motel with small rooms. The bathroom was very small and could do with an upgrade but was generally quite clean. The linen was lovely and the room was equipped with coffee making, toaster and microwave. The self serve continental breakfast was fine. Reception staff were friendly and efficient.

The rooms both Amy and I have are dirty and stained. Worst customer service.
Raking money from customers and never worth the money. I would rather sleep in the car than sleeping here.
Disgusting and do not ever go to this terrible place.

We booked three nights here as it was just across the road from our old house and gave us some 'breathing space' whilst we made final arrangements to move back to the UK. It was a terrible mistake. The room was very small - so small that our suitcases had to remain in the car. There were holes in the chairs. The (tiny) fridge was so iced up it was impossible to use. Clearly hadn't been defrosted in months, if not years. The doormat was a roughly cut piece of old cord carpet, all frayed. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable - a particular issue for me as I have arthritis. The bedding was worn and very cheap. There were tea and coffee making facilities ( well, a kettle and two cups) but no facilities to wash any dishes other than the hand basin next to the toilet. There was a stand for a suitcase but the room was so small that it stood in front of the entrance to the bathroom, meaning that if we had used it for a suitcase we would have been unable to use the lavatory. There was a lot of noise at unreasonable hours - there were some roadworks outside and the crew all appeared to be lodging at the motel. The motel has a pool, in the middle of the car park with collapsing , rusted pillars around it. Perhaps they once supported a canopy. It also has a great view of the road. Unsurprisingly, no one used it. However, it may have been a better option than the shower, which changed from warm to scalding to freezing with alarming suddenness and for no apparent reason. Our whole experience was appalling. It wasn't even 'budget' as there were places priced at a lower rate than this. I cannot understand how they are still in business.
