The whole team of four stayed at Tara House the night of the 14th of April. Totally magical house and and garden. Well thought out breakfast catering and convivial conversation with the host. Would totally recommend Tara House to all and sundry.

We just stopped for one night on our way to Melbourne. We found there was a friendly atmosphere and a nice decorated Victorian house. A nice sleeping room, good breakfast in an historical dining room and an open living room with burning chimney. The owner was helpful and friendly.

We arrived reasonably late on a Friday evening. The host/owner had been drinking in the guest lounge with another couple, and invited us to join them. We chatted for another hour or two. The conversation was interesting and wide-ranging, and more wine was consumed by everyone. I noticed that our host was becoming increasingly drunk, and with that, increasingly condescending...

this was a most regrettable incident- the first in 9 years. i have been suffering from some form of seizures in recent months another occurred the next late morning. I had been drinking and this was not appropriate for the evening. the couple were charged by a third party; i refunded the amount when told. i sincerely regret the situation,...

We found Tara House a little difficult to find arriving in Bairnsdale just after dark, and once we were there it was a but unclear where to park. However, we had a fantastic impression once we were inside. We were upgraded to either the 'king' or 'premium' room which looked stunning, and indeed the property was tastefully and intricately furnished...

I booked the room last minute direct with the owner. He was very nice, and offered me a nice king sized room. The GPS found the property easily, and it was centrally located to St Mary's Church, and the Main Hotel for dinner. The house has a lot of character, and Phillip was very friendly. It was a full house...

thank you for your review. I am concerned about the towels which I purchased new only this year; large sheet towels. I have just purchased some more this week. following AAA recommendations, there should not be any televisions in each room if there is one in the guest lounge. I provided a DVD player for guests convenience and enjoyment. I...

Along with another couple, we booked 3 nights over easter and were most impressed with both the residence and Phillip the owner. Nothing seemed like too much trouble. The house is in a nice quiet area of Bairnsdale but in easy reach of all the local attractions. Rooms were comfortable and well presented, a nice touch was the electric blankets...

We were needing somewhere to stay overnight in Bairnsdale, being tired of motels tried Tara House in Jan this year. The owner accommodated us at the last minute and made us very welcome. The house is in a terrific setting, quiet, away from the main hub but only a few minutes by car. The king bed extremely comfy, we had...

I booked a night's stay here through wotif. I made an error with the date and changed this thru wotif the following day. No problems. When I arrived after travelling all day in summer I called the owner- who turned up 10 minutes later. He disappeared into the office and I had to call him again . He informed me...

We were traveling to Lakes Entrance during Xmas and decided to stay in Bairnsdale as the accommodation was more affordable. Picked this one on Wotif. Overall not too bad and met our expectation for a B&B. As it is a big, older house, it can look a bit dark and creepy. The house has an impressive collection of antique as...
