Very clean property. Surprisingly quiet despite being situated on Princes Highway. Two bedroom, spacious family suite. Tv in each room; good furniture and comfortable beds. Kitchenette with refrigerator. Ideal place for mum and dad and a couple of kids. Friendly hosts.

Surprising find in Bairnsdale. Rooms are spacious, very clean and the beds the best we slept in during our 2 week trip. Receptionist/owner very friendly and helpful. Had planned to stay in Lakes Entrance, but was a long weekend and everything booked out, so continued on to Bairnsdale. Compared to the L.E. prices, this at $120 was a steal. Very quiet at night as well. Highly recommend this Motor Inn.

I will recommend Tanjil Motel to family & friends. Motel was clean, tidy and rooms to suit many. Our family were very comforable during the stay and the motel owners were very accomodating. A variety of beverages on offer to purchase in the main office. We got breakfast in the morning too. Kids want to come back in the warmer months to have a dip in the pool and were very satisfied with the wifi and foxtel on offer.

I was made to feel very welcome during my five-night stay. It's a quiet, older-style motel run by a friendly couple. The rooms are clean, the location is handy, room rates are good value and the owners were super helpful. They also have a really cute dog. I'll be back.

We stayed three nights and found the Tanjil Motor Inn to be clean, comfortable, conveniently located, with friendly, very helpful hosts. Generous amount of complementary tea, coffee, biscuits and milk supplied. We would definitely recommend.

Very clean and tidy older style motel that is obviously being progessively updated. Friendly and helpful host who seemed to have a good grasp of the services available in town. Bed was very comfortable and even though fronts onto main street road and traffic noise was minimal

We booked in due to being evacuated by the east Gippsland fires not for pleasure or business. Our property is under threat and we stand to lose it. We booked x 2 rooms with family visiting from Perth. Upon arrival we were meet by the manager who was strangely very rude, arrogant, very grumpy (for no apparent reason??) and appointed us to our rooms. We just assumed he was having a bad day.. In one room the aircon would not cool, it was 44 degree and the aircon had been on for over two hours - and was blowing very warm boarding hot air. We asked him to come see it and he was so unbelievably aggressive, told us it was fine and to leave it for another 40 mins and go back to pool. We did and then went back - the air was getting warmer. When he went back he said there was nothing wrong, waving his hands around stating it’s fine and to just leave it. It was 44 degrees outside and we have children including our infant daughter. He moved us to another room to which the air con worked great - he became increasingly more rude and agitated (if that’s even possible?!) later that evening I asked for the trundle bed he had offered us to which He then went into a Loud rant accused us of being intoxicated, spoke over the top of me and demanded we be gone be 10am the next day and that we had caused him So much trouble for merely reporting a faulty air con. He complained we had used the room and he couldn’t re let it now however the only use had been that it had our luggage sitting in and that’s it as we were using the pool the keep cool ! The pool was afloat with plastic and quite dirty, the rooms had copious amounts of filth under the couch cushions including matches and lighters and old food and the worst was the pubic hair on the fridge of all places. We are locals and have lived in this area for over 50 years.. we have nothing to gain whatsoever by writing a bad review but I’ve never come across this in our home town in all these years. We were very stressed and tried to make light of it for our kids. Never have we ever been spoken to and treated like this by anyone. We were so polite to the point of trying to see if he was ok but not even that helped. We had no other accommodation options and had already paid for the night so we had to stay there. We wish this had not been the case but to be accused of being drunk, being a liar, spoken over the top off, told that there is no warm air it’s just us and told to leave not a minute past check out for merely reporting a faulty air con in ONE of our rooms / especially in our circumstance - is beyond appalling. Our kids were all quite unsettled with the blackening skies and we were trying to make light of staying in a hotel. I will never stay here no recommend this hotel to anybody based on the manager not the actual hotel.

My family and I booked two rooms during the recent bushfires in East Gippsland and this was possibly the worst stay we have ever had to experience. One room was not well cleaned (rubbish and lighter under the lounge cushions) and the other had an airconditioner that wasnt working. On calling in to the manager to ask for assistance with the AC, he was very rude, dismissive and uninterested. I waited another hour at his request for it to cool down (on a 44 degree day) and it still hadnt. On asking for further assistance, he stormed about the room complaining I had used it and how could he sell it again, this not being my issue I asked for another room. Later on when we enquired when they would be delivering the extra trundle bed he accussed us of ‘drinking’ and thats why we complained about the AC. The pool was filthy with plastic floating amongst other rubbish. On check out I explained to the manager that his behaviour toward us was appalling and unwarranted.

Our room was large and very clean. We had a good array of facilities including a microwave and good set of cutlery. The TV had some great channels and plenty of choice and the wifi was good. As others have mentioned the decor was dated but in our case it was in good condition so that is not a deal breaker for me. The manager kindly gave us early check in and a slightly later checkout to more closely align with out train times. It was a little further from the main shops than some other motels but Bairnsdale is quite a small town so it wasn't a problem.
