Stayed two nights in the Adelaide Room, which was a nice big room, traditional fit out, very clean and views to the street. The bed was big but we didn’t find it to be that comfortable. The ensuite was well sized but was at a different level to the room (step down at the door) which very nearly caused us an accident when we forgot it was there on one occasion when coming out of the ensuite. Hosts were amazing and we had one breakfast in house and one at a local restaurant. Do take note of the comments about walking into town as it is very hilly. We just drove in and always found somewhere to park. Free onsite parking was easy to use and access.

We spent 2 wonderful days in March staying at Kurrajong House. It is a beautiful, heritage property. We had the Benjamin room - impeccably clean and very quiet which was so important to my husband and I as we are light sleepers. Breakfast is delicious comprising of fruit juice, tea, coffee, fresh fruit, locally made yoghurt, jams, bacon and eggs on toast - the best poached eggs I've ever had - thanks Andre!! Kurrajong house is very convenient and in walking distance to restaurants, parks and the shopping centre. Linda and Andre are very welcoming and helpful with their knowledge of Launceston and the surrounding areas. Thank you for the wonderful, comfortable stay and we look forward to returning to your lovely property.

Accommodation was very comfortable and we were grateful that despite our very late arrival (due to flight delay) we were greeted by our hostess and shown our room and facilities. A lovely and charming setting. It is hilly and although we walked during the daytime we chose to go by car in the evening for a meal in the town. We didn't appreciate that breakfast needs to be booked in advance. We found a very nice cafe the first morning. Second morning as we wanted to leave promptly to get to Port Arther we had breakfast there. Good but quite expensive. Thank you to our hosts for the information they gave us, especially about The Wall at Derwent Bridge. An amazing place to visit and one we wouldn't have found by chance.

Simply can fault anything from the moment we arrived it felt like being at home (without having to clear up). Linda and Adre were amazing hosts providing good local information to make the stay even better. The breakfast was amazing and Adre’s eggs so so good. Beds super comply, room very quiet and everything we needed. The only place to stay in town.

This was the surprise of our trip to Tasmania from the mainland after three weeks on the road. My wife loves roses and as it is always a surprise the accommodation I book on our trips this was especially nice as we arrived just as Tasmania was in full bloom just for her. The roses at Kurrajong House and near the path outside are taken care of by the owners Linda and Andre were some of the best. Our room and bathroom was kitted out in period furniture four poster bed and all. Spent two nights here and you are welcome to use the leaving area in the main part of the house which is just as nice. We had breakfast (extra cost) with them on the last day and invited Linda to join us at the table as we talked about the past history and upkeep of the garden. We could have stayed longer talking to them but had to get on our way to Cradle Mountain. Well worth the visit and a short walk down hill into the City proper. Short sharp steep hill on the way back, Ron and Anne X

Stayed for three nights in July in the Emily Room which was very comfortable and tastefully furnished with a chandelier, lovely furniture and ornaments on the fireplace mantelpiece. There was a king sized bed (very comfortable) that had bedside tables with lamps on either side of the bed as well as a single arm chair and a two seater sofa lounge. There was a mini bar and tea and coffee making facilities located in a part of the wardrobe and a flat screen TV mounted on the wall. There was also a rectangular wall mirror. The large bathroom had a reasonably sized vanity and a walk-in shower (good pressure). The room was serviced daily and was exceptionally clean. WIFI worked well. Breakfast included both Continental (cereals, toast, fruit salad, jams and juices) and cooked (eggs, bacon, sausage, mushrooms and tomato) options that was served in the very light and airy conservatory. Our hosts, Andre and Linda, were very welcoming and exceptionally helpful. Free off-street parking was available. Whilst the accommodation is less than a 10 minute walk into the centre of the shopping area, that walk involves a very steep descent and a very steep and arduous climb back up to the House which is located on the top of a hill - as Andre said, the address is Hill Street. There was no view from our room.

I was driving around Tasmania anti clockwise and decided to stay for two nights in Launceston so I could do a Tamar River Wine Tour. This was an excellent choice. It is a small hotel/guest house run by Andrè and Linda, an Australian / Scottish couple. They go above and beyond making sure guests enjoy their stay. And have two delightful dachshunds too! There are a couple of rooms outside the main building but my room was in the main building. There is a gorgeous garden with plenty of seating before you go into the building, and if it was better weather this would have been a wonderful place to sit - someone obviously takes a great deal of care with the garden which was colourful even in winter. There is also enough parking for guests. You enter the main house straight into a large room which is the dining room, and there are comfortable sofas there too. It is also beautifully decorated and maintained. I was shown to my room (Emily room) and again this was lovely. The heater / air con was on when I arrived so the room was already warm. There is a built in cupboard / wardrobe, in keeping with the age of the room, and as well as hanging space this is where you can find the small fridge, kettle and safe. The lighting in the room was good - a strong main overhead light and three lamps. The bed was a large French-style wooden bed and there was also a full length mirror in the room. There was a very pretty, tiled fire place but sadly no fire! The shower room was spacious and shampoo, conditioner, wash and body/hand cream was all supplied. There was plenty of hot water in the morning for my shower I only opted to have breakfast on one of the two mornings as I usually don’t have breakfast. This was prepared by Andrè - I opted just for a poached egg on toast but could have had the full bacon, tomatoes etc. There is also cereal on the table, and each guest starts breakfast with a plate of fresh cut fruit and a jar of homemade yoghurt. If I had still been hungry after all that there was a variety of home made jams and marmalades. This is a lovely place to stay for anyone visiting Launceston and I wish I could have stayed longer.

The Kurrajong House was comfortable and inviting. My clean and spacious Newton Heritage room with a king bed and sofa was on the first floor. The bedding was comfortable, and the inn was quiet. My friend had a smaller room, also comfortable. Breakfast was adequate. Guests can use a family room adjacent to the breakfast table or the outside patio. Hosts Linda and Andre were friendly and helpful. The B&B is in a great location in a hilly neighborhood with beautiful character homes. it was a 10-minute downhill walk to downtown Launceston. We found the town delightful for exploring, and especially enjoyed the Saturday farmers market with its unique offerings. I highly recommend the Kurrajong House. It was the most relaxing stay during our 3-week Australia trip.

We spent only two nights at the Kurrajong House B&B, but very much enjoyed our stay. We were in the ‘Emily’ room which was the first room off from the dining area, but it was quiet and a spacious room. We enjoyed the Victorian décor touches and the large king size bed was comfortable. We only had one breakfast there, as we were headed to Hobart airport early on the last morning. (Launceston would definitely be a better airport to leave from and closer to the B&B!) We were thankful for the coffee and coffee pot they left for us, as well as milk in the fridge, and their offer to leave cereal for our 5am departure. The breakfast we did have, was delicious and kept us going most of the day. Even though we had only a short stay, they cleaned our room for us when we were out, and made up the bed. We were quite busy, and only wished we had more time to enjoy the Kurrajong House. We were grateful for Linda and Andre’s lovely hospitality while visiting Launceston. It is noted that our GPS took us up one of the steeper Launceston roads, on Balfour Street, to reach the B&B. We learned that Canning Street, was much less steep, and took us to the B&B just as easily.
