Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

In town for one night for business. The Sebel is well located, has a good restaurant for dinner and breakfast and good coffee. I have stayed there a number of times and, although I didn't need it, I was upgraded to a larger room as recognition of my frequent custom. Good value for money

Very average for the price, not good value for money. Clean enough. Cheap couch very ordinary, not comfortable. Bed ok No complimentary water, or mini bar fridge available. No Smoking on balcony, only 1 designated area on ground floor. There are better options in Launceston. I won't be staying here again.

Very friendly, welcoming and helpful reception staff who understood the purpose of my trip and took an interest in my needs. The sitting room was larger and more comfortable than normal, allowing plenty of room to spread out, re-organise pack and feel relaxed. There were windows for plenty of natural light. The bathroom was clean and had a large bath also, much appreciated at the end of a long hike. The restaurant staff were friendly and the food was delicious. All up, a really good stay.

This well-run hotel is, based on two stays, a dependable establishment with friendly helpful staff. Its in-building restaurant, Bluestone, serves excellent traditional breakfasts that one anticipates with alacrity! Rooms are always spotlessly clean. And no shortage of towels on request, tho of course in eco-era one tries to limit how many. I definitely would stay again. Thank you to all staff.

We only stayed one night, room was spacious with separate bedroom. At that day the weather was stormy & windy, so we had or dinner at the restaurant. the menu are Thai meals, I was expected there was a hot soup or pasta. Breakfast menu was very good. We'd love to come back to this hotel. Staff very friendly & helpful.

Came here with an O/S friend on 3 week trip to Tassie, great welcome, two bedroom suite, huge, had everything we needed and more, enough room for all of us, two TVs two bathrooms, ensuite with spa, great value, was let down by welcome note made out to a different person other than us, and found food on the seat, however housekeeping apologised on checkout, car parking only $10 per night right next door, disappointing that the water jug was empty at reception with no glasses, ALL night and still the next morning, but great spot anyway, recommend it

Nice boutique hotel with spacious room and comfortable beds. It’s walking distance from the downtown and you have lots of choices of food after a short 10 mins walk. There is a guest parking so it’s very convenient if you are driving around TAS. All in all a good choice in the city

Although our suite was on the first floor and overlooking a busy street it was quite, apart from the church bells. Pleasant staff, parking at $8 a night and a licensed restaurant, that served mainly asian inspired meals. Breakfast was included.

This hotel has gone down hill since I last stayed and is no longer upto the 4 star standard. We encountered a number of maintenance issues as well as being located next to the gym so the loud banging of people using the equipment radiated into our room late at night and early morning. Wifi was poor only reaching 1 or 2 mbps so we used our own data. Breakfast was nice but very small portion size. There are now many better and cheaper choices, i would not return to the Sebel. I am a Platinum member of Accor Plus.
