Detailed Reviews
I needed a bed, close to LGH, that wasn't going to cost me too much. The Centennial was a good choice. Location is two blocks from the hospital. Room was clean, had good facilities and big enough for two people for a few days. Bed comfy and I slept soundly.
WiFi good and free. Parking on site.
Hotel has a very cosy, grill style restaurant and there's a pizzaria next door. Coles supermarket actiss the road. Excellent location for my needs.
No air-conditioning and a quiet fridge, just perfect for sleeping soundly. My room fronted the main, 3 lane road into Launceston but the traffic was minimal to zero after 10pm on a Friday night. I slept with the window open all night and enjoyed the warm, Autumn breeze.
Check in easy, friendly and informative.
For the price, a top spot.

Our affordable room was small and basic yet clean enough. The bed was comfortable. I didn't use the free internet, so I'm not sure how fast it is. Juanita and Steve are very friendly as well. The restaurant and pizza place downstairs was delicious too.

We arrived at 8pm at night and collected our key from Restaurant staff downstairs. When we got into our room the window had been left open and it was freezing! Obviously we closed the window and turned the useless heater on. It did nothing.
I was so cold I slept with full length thermals on. I had very poor sleep as my face and head was so cold.
The second night was not so bad as the window had been closed all day.
The room was clean.
We did not see a single staff member in the reception during our two night stay.
They did arrange the late check in for us which was easy.
Quite a good location. It is noisy as on a main road though.
Wouldn't recommend eating in the restaurant downstairs. One particular restaurant staff member downstairs was rude.
Nil aircon if you were planning on staying in Summer.
Would not recommend staying here in winter.

Very warm room with only a fan, no air conditioning. The shower is in the bath tub next to the toilet. Would be an issue for seniors or anyone with limited leg movement. Extremely tight space between toilet and shower. You might actually need to stand in the bath to shut the door before sitting on the toilet!
Out dated small screen TV, not a smart TV. Double bed, one side hard up against the wall. Very soft mattress decent pillows. Noisy room, lots of door banging and road noise. Price at booking not the same as quoted on booking.com For $119 a night it's over priced. Meals at Steve's grill were tasty however pricey at $34 for a parma. Stay a couple of blocks closer to Brisbane mall. No contact whatsoever with hotel staff. Stayed for 2 nights

This was the best place I stayed in Tasmania and was close to the Gorge and city centre. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and a toaster and kettle were provided. There was even a free drink at the restaurant downstairs!

I am not the one who will talk negative about any business coz at the end of the it is somebody's bread and butter. But... But my stay at this hotel was the worst ever.. I was so frustrated that at one point i felt like leaving in the middle of the night and wait for the morning.. Wash basin in the room next to your bed? No space to stand in the bathroom.. The colors so depressing on the walls in the bathroom and the room.. bed stashed with the wall on one end.. and the window right on top of you head with traffic noises all night coming from the window.. and the blind banging in the window if you open the window.. and if you dont you die of suffocation coz there is no AC.. the bed is so bouncy... Nobody available to speak with to get some help.. My suggestion pay a bit more and stay anywhere else.. Anywhere..but not in this shith@le..
Ruined my trip completely.

An error on our behalf. After being directed straight from the Qantas site to their preferred providers after booking a flight, this one popped up and without checking Trip Advisor we went ahead and booked. Rookie Error !! Old, tired, dirty, noisy and no air conditioning, only option for air is to leave the window open. We won't outright bag a place unless it really deserves it buy honestly can't recommend this one, at any price.

Small basic room but fortunately went when the weather was pleasant enough not to have air con but the biggest downside to this hotel is the noise coming from the busy main road. You would think it would ease down by night time but definitely was constant heavy traffic all day and all night and barely got a decent night sleep. Had to invest in some ear plugs the next day!

First off there is no wifi and like the other reviews have said there are no staff around at all. We had to get our room key from the restaurant downstairs! Wouldn't recommend staying here. I wish we had read other travellers reviews in detail before we booked.

We drove straight from the airport to The Centennial Hotel. Had I have known what I know now, I would not have booked this hotel. We had to get our key from the staff in the bar who seemed to have no idea about how to access our key without a code we were supposed to have been given. When we eventually got to our room, it was to find that the window had been left open, and the room was freezing cold. There was a bath, but no plug to go in it. The room itself was quite clean, but it was noisy all night due to the main road it is on. That was my bad. I did not check where it was before I booked it. I just assumed it would be quieter than it was. The location was quite handy with Coles Supermarket being straight across the road and open till midnight. The hotel did not have a lift either which made carrying 2 fully laden suitcases up the stairs quite difficult. They are also very narrow stairs, so I think if you were older, you would find it quite a hard ask. Also, even though we were supposed to have internet, there was no one to get a password from. It was not even a hundred dollars a night so it falls under the heading "you only get what you pay for". Would not really recommend this place at all.
