We were led to believe we were staying in Mercure Launceston. We associate the Mercure name with a certain, reasonable standard. However we were extremely disappointed with our stay here. Our room was so dirty. The carpet was covered in stains and grime. There were pubic hairs on the flannels and engrained dirt around the tap and light fixtures. There...

Stayed there for one night. The hotel has two buildings. One is the Mercure building, we have stayed at the other building. The room smells and even the pillow smells too. Our room is very noisy, as the cars are parked right downstairs. You could even hear people talking when they step outside their cars. Location wise it's pretty good,...

Thank you for sharing your experience. I am pleased you found our CBD location of convenient to you. Our House Keeping Department prides itself on room cleanliness. I am sorry you found the room to smell, however I trust the room cleanliness was to standard. This will be brought to the attention and address with the HK Manager immediately. Our...

Is very dated and small. If your just looking for somewhere to sleep overnight it will be just fine. Management needs to update their breakfast menu's so you can actually read them. They look like they've been in the same room for 10 years.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Management is aware of this, the breakfast menu has recently been edited and is due to be printed and replaced in the Bistro and all hotel rooms. I am sorry you found our complex to be out-dated and not large in size. Our hotel rooms have been under a 3-5 year renovation program. The...

We flew in from Melbourne and stayed at this Mercure hotel for two nights before heading to the East coast. The hotel does not much offer frills but we had a comfortable stay and would recommend it for the price. The hotel is within walking distance to the town centre (Launceston is small), and to a convenience store as well...

Stayed in the Mercure part. The room was well furnished with all necessary facilities. Seems to have been refurbished recently. USB ports for charging mobile phones were provided, something I had not seen anywhere. However, the paid breakfast was a disappointment.

Thank you for positive report Akamath77 on the installation of high-technology facilities and features such as additional USB ports upon our most recent renovation of our hotel rooms. I am thrilled you found your room to be well furnished and the interior design to be bang on! I am disappointed to know of your dissatisfaction of our breakfast offering. Our...

We stayed here for one night and were very glad that was all. Positives were the air con, foxtel and the bed was quite comfy. However, the room smelt as soon as we walked in and was increasingly noticeable every time we returned to the room. The shower was old and nowhere near high enough for my partner. The room...

Have to say I was a little concerned when we drove up, but it quelled when I walked inside. Lovely set up bar and bistro, but can't vouch for the food as we didn't eat here, but the bar staff were wonderful. Our room, although somewhat small, was very well laid out and recently renovated. Nice!
