Country Club Tasmania stands out for its inviting atmosphere, with guests frequently lauding its cozy rooms complete with luxurious spa baths and the vibrant live music scene. While the hotel's cleanliness receives commendations, one guest pointed out a lapse in room cleaning. Views on value are mixed; a number of travelers appreciate the combination of affordability and cleanliness, whereas others feel the hotel could improve on costs and amenities.
The rooms are generally celebrated for their cleanliness and comfort, despite some remarks about noise and unremarkable views. The array of amenities and the staff's friendliness are highlights, although service consistency has room for enhancement.

Detailed Reviews
I had won a night here with a wrest point prize draw and we redeemed this by calling their friendly reservation team. We paid $20 to upgrade from a regular room to a courtyard one which was nice. We had a view over the small lake and were on the top floor. The rooms are old fashioned but comfortable. I think the full price for this room is over $200 which seems a little steep but I am rating highly as we enjoyed the heated pool.
Visitors from interstate, please note the hotel is not in the centre of Launceston so you really need a car.
The parking is free but a little distance away from the rooms.

Hotel's Favourite
Lovely place to stay at, fell in love with Tamar Valley. Most beautiful and amazing surroundings felt so at peace here. The landscapes just never end, and so close to the city was truly an amazing place, we really look forward to returning. The boat trip down the gorge was something else. The local Pale Ale was delicious and we met some really lovely helpful people.

The resort has the casino, mainly pokies with a few tables upstairs. Good fun. A few of restaurants on site, however beware all only open at weekends and not the choice in the week. We were disappointed Tonic bar was only open Fridays and Saturdays, and then a private function for the whole venue on Saturday night! Oh well. The rooms are comfortable with good mattresses and pillows that make sleep easy. And clean! Shower pressure is fantastic. Some Foxtel movies and sport available on the TV. Would I stay again, without hesitation I would! Golf course is picturesque with wallabies and local birdlife meandering the course. Horse riding available, and loved that they are very well looked after too.

I experienced very noisy plumbing in the lower floor room into which I was "upgraded" (waste water from upper floors). If you have to stay here, ask for a top floor room. And be prepared for a long walk to your room if you have mobility issues - the only guest parking is through the club amenities (gambling and dining) on the opposite of the building). This place was definitely not value for money.

We have stayed at the hotel for many years and the facilities at this property are generally outstanding. Nice large rooms, clean, with plenty to do for either a couple or family.
We have noticed that since COVID standards have slipped, largely due to what appear to be cost cutting from management. It appears as if measures that were rightfully brought in during COVID have been extended unnecessarily. Things such as there are no longer bathrobes in the room.
The main upstairs bar isn’t open until 5pm on a Saturday, despite all the sports and racing being on but no bar facilities. People were literally walking to the other side of the property (a decent walk) to get a drink and then walking back to the main bar. Plenty of security staff about not doing much but they can’t have a barman to serve customers.
The buffet (we had both breakfast and dinner) is a lot thinner with reduced selection, to the extent decafe coffee was an additional charge. No basic tea available either. Never seen that at a breakfast buffet before.
The service staff were wonderful as always and almost appeared apologetic on a few occasions around changes made.
Finally, one issue that did impact our stay. The first night there was a fire alarm which required our wing of the hotel to be evacuated at around 10pm. We were all asleep and we had to wake our 18 month old and wait outside in the cold whilst the issue was sorted out. All the while, the rest of the property was functional, including the bars and casino, with people still flowing in to the property past us as we waited with our child. Then a security staff yelled out that all was clear, no apology or explanation. The alarm was then triggered 15 mins later for a brief period. Fair to say there was limited sleep in our room after this happened. The next day we asked a staff member what had happened and they said that someone had been smoking in their room which triggered this. Could have been handled better in our opinion.
This is a great property with a lot of potential but please bring the services back to standards your guests received prior to COVID.

I have recently stayed at this property for three nights with my son. It has been 8 years since my last stay and I can honestly say that the venue has sadly lost it's pazazz. We both had a suite and the decor has not changed in the eight years which is not in itself an issue, but the quality of services is noticeably reduced. In a suite made for two people we each had 1 small shampoo, conditioner, moisturiser and two small soaps. The toilet paper is single leaf. The tea bag selection is limited and there is now a pod machine in lieu of the coffee plunger from eightyears ago. To be honest I do not believe they allow their cleaning staff, who work very hard, enough time to give the rooms a thorough clean as there was noticeable dust in the black marble .bathrooms. We had room service the first night and apart from the 1 hour 20 min wait for the food to arrive it was very disappointing. The pork ribeye was a scrawny pork chop surrounded by green cucumber chunks and a date chutney that tasted of nothing. My medium porterhouse steak was well done, the mushroom sauce tasted of soy sauce and had a miniscule piece of mushroom in it and was served in the smallest pot I have ever seen and was served with about 6 slices of "rustic" potato and undercooked broccolini. We also ordered french fries which were very pale and limp. This meal cost $107. I am sorry because the bed and pillows were superb, the staff were on the whole very friendly but quite frankly the standards are not as they were. I know we can blame Covid for many things but for the price we paid I am really sorry to say that I could not recommend it to others.

My partner and I had two nights staying at the Country Club as a mini pre-baby holiday, in a very pleasant upper-level room overlooking the golf course. The room was comfortable, clean and very pleasant and the staff and service both excellent. That said, we were disappointed to have a lovely balcony which we were unable to use for the second night of our stay given we discovered we had a smoking neighbour/s near to our room, meaning we couldn't enjoy the outdoor area without becoming smokers ourselves. Upon consultation with reception, we were informed that the hotel's policy is that smoking on the deck areas was permitted, and that we were unable to move rooms. So I suggest that if looking for a non-smoking experience that you search for an alternative accommodation venue, which is a shame given the lovely setting and excellent service!

We were attending a concert so staying , eating and watching the show all at the Country Club was very convenient.
The service, food and show were all outstanding however the cost of the room for the night was extremely expensive.
We paid for a golf course view and were very disappointed at what we got. They are currently working on changing/improving the golf course and all we got was a view of a construction fence. Cost of room should have been discounted with such a compromised stay.
We were also disappointed with the cooling in the room, did not seem to work very well.

This resort is just so special, friendly, relaxing and spacious , with a charm not often found. So many dining options, within the hotel, and the internal and external environment made all of us all feel so relaxed and comfortable.
So much fun playing blackjack, roulette , where the professional, staff are so competent and welcoming, enjoyable to be alongside..smiling faces, a rare thing, Its a great overall package and easy to head into CBD , barely 15 minutes, and such nice walks from the resort. A longtime favourite, and the management and staff are just the best,
