    Reviewed 14 April 2015

I spent 3 nights solo in a triple room. It was great. It is a beautiful old house in a picturesque location (Opposite a park). The office staff were efficient & helpful. The place is really clean. It was not noisy (Especially after 10pm) so...More

Hello Brian, thank you for your review of Launceston Backpackers. You mentioned that the Backpackers was nice and quiet. This is mainly due to our communal areas being well away from the bedrooms. We are pleased you had an enjoyable stay. We will hopefully see...More

One of the best hostel I have been so far. The location is good, the building is great, the rooms spacious, tidy and neat: the kitchen and common area and bathroom really clean. The staffs are friendly. It is very Quiet. I totally recommend

    Reviewed 23 March 2015

We'd planned on staying 2 nights but one was more than enough! So dreary and depressing. Our ensuite room was a reasonable size, with all the charm of a prison cell, but the bathroom was truly basic. Not even any soap and impossible to regulate...More

Hello Greenings, just to let you know, we replaced the kettle as soon as someone came into the office and let us know about it. We always have spare utilities in storage. I find your comments referring to other customers as "inmates" quite disrespectful.

    Reviewed 8 March 2015

We booked the double ensuite. Room was very basic. No air. No fan. No soap. Outside our door was the washing machine and dryers, which were on most of the day, obviously causing a lot of noise. Wouldn't recommend the double room, and would pay...More

Response from derek l, Manager at Launceston BackpackersResponded 15 March 2015

Yes Brett you are right in saying there are washing machines outside room 8. These washing machines are on a timer so they are not able to work between 8pm and 9am when most people are wanting to sleep. If you were trying to sleep...More

    Reviewed 15 February 2015

We had booked a double room with en-suite which was large but had a basic fit out. There was a single cupboard, only one chair and no table or bench. The en-suite bathroom was basic but functional. The shower however fluctuated between burning hot and...More

Thank you for your review Michael. We were unaware of the security problem on your window in your room; this is the benefit of TripAdvisor as we will get this fixed. You mentioned the shower water in your room going hot and cold. We had...More
