It has been years since I stayed here, it was run down a bit and the service was not great. BUT the newly refurbished rooms are simply amazing, with the most comfortable bed in Launceston (no crack in the middle of the King bed) as good as Country Hotel and Best Western, but the carpet and décor was very, very...

On the close outskirts of the Paris end of the Paris of the north, The Grand Chancellor offers a very comfortable and affordable stay. With all cuisines close by, this was a very pleasant night in town.

This is my second stay at the Grand Chancellor and I was still very impressed. You can't get more central and within walking distance from everything; shops, restaurants, theatres, parks and Cataract Gorge. The rooms very generous, quiet, well designed and equipped. I felt like I had arrived home again. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Seriously look no...

Stayed here for work. It was warm, the room was clean, the Internet was good and the room service was excellent. It is in a great location with lots of restaurants nearby. I woul stay there again whether for work or travel.

A beautiful building and a better hotel than some 5 star I've stayed at - super comfortable bed, great pillows and clean bathrooms. Resturant has excellent food and wide range of options for that early breakfast, tho a bit expensive ($28) but you can walk 20yards to the left and hit the bakery next door. This is a great option,...

Below Grand Chancellor benchmarks and standards, reception staff quality variable and no concierge. Charged for parking, wi fi ! Archaic ! Room disappointing and very noisy. Menu disappointing. The whole enterprise seems understaffed.

This hotel is very comfortable and central. Clean and well supplied mini bar. Staff were friendly and efficient. Bathroom was good for space. Off street parking helps and the foyer is a grand entrance.

Very happy with the customer service, size of room, speed of internet, television channels and cleanliness. My room was quite noisy as it was adjacent to some air conditioning vents which made it a little difficult to sleep but this was only a slight issue in the scheme of things.

Loved our stay at this hotel, the rooms are very spacious with great wardrobe space. Breakfast was included in our rate & was very good. The location of the hotel was excellent, literally walked out the back door & you are in central Launceston.
