Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed 1 night in room # 1 The room was warm, clean and quiet. Comfortable warm bed and great shower. Check in was quick and easy. Very friendly owners. The Mews feels more like a home rather than a motel and is situated in a lovely area within walking distance to the CBD. Secure off street parking

This is a great venue for basic budget accommodation. The owner Sonny very kindly allowed us a late checkout at short notice, and was super friendly and efficient. The room was clean, quiet and fairly spacious. Not flash but it did the job fine and if you are on a budget this is the place for you!

It’s a really tiny old house with wonky walls and creaky floors. The host Sunny was a friendly chap. We was welcoming and helpful. Room a bit cramped and furniture was old and tired. “Interesting” decor on display. Not the greatest short stay we’ve had, but it was memorable!

Room Tip: Lots of steps. Very cramped. Very small bathroom. Windows are small. Location is a bit too quiet-...

This is a really neat and clean boutique type hotel with only 4 or 5 rooms. It's a little bit like a BnB without the breakfast. You can use the outdoor kitchen area to prepare basics which is handy for a budget traveler like me. The owners are so nice and ever so helpful. I would stay here again without a doubt, it was really comfortable.

Nothing like photos. In the middle of renovation they said. Did not look professional/. Off street parking. Room neat and tidy basic. Did not stay even though we paid up front. Stayed elsewhere as we didn’t feel comfortable, not private, smelt like cats/old. Looked liked a family lived there too. Helpful on check in but just nothing like we expected.

My son and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Mews Motel. Sunny was very welcoming on our arrival allowing us to check in at 9am! We had a family room which was two separate rooms - plenty of space for my son and I. It is a heritage listed building with lots of character. We stayed 9 nights with the rooms cleaned daily. My son commented it felt like we were staying at someone’s house and how comfortable it was. A short walk out of the CBD and plenty of other restaurants and Coles very close by. Would definitely stay again. How often do you buy chocolates to leave at your accommodation as a thank you?! Thanks guys!

Rooms clean and comfy, friendly manager and close to Launceston central, we really enjoyed our stay at the MEWS. Recommended for anyone visiting Launceston and looking for a soft but firm bed with clean sheets and a clean and tidy en suite with good management

We stayed one night in a ground-floor room and appreciated the free, secure parking, the updated bathroom and the comfortable bed. The host was accommodating and helpful. We visited on an usually hot day of 35 degrees C and the room didn't have air-conditioning. We opened the window after dark and turned on the fan which managed the problem but it could be a problem for other guests.

Dear Jenelle Thank you for staying with us and we appreciate your wonderful review. Unfortunately, we do not have an air condition system in each room (air-condition in corridor) due to the heritage property protection (our property is built around 1881)

We used this as a base whilst we walked the Overland Track - staying one night before, and three nights after. It’s honest, friendly, clean, and excellent value for money. The owner (Sunny) was very helpful and happy to accomodate our efforts to dry off our walking gear. It’s perhaps not your top choice for a romantic getaway, but for what we needed it was ideal. Great place, would use again
