Nestled in a prime location, the Dragonfly Inn delights guests with its blend of old-world charm and modern comforts, all at excellent value. Many visitors commend the hotel for its spotless cleanliness and the thoughtfully curated amenities that contribute to the property's enchanting atmosphere. While the rooms are celebrated for their comfort and charm, a few guests have noted issues with noise and access. The generous breakfast baskets and the attentive service, despite the self-service model, are often highlighted, as is the convenience of free parking.

The accomodation here is carefully considered and presented, and the old world charm sits beautifully with the modern inclusions.
Beds, towels and rooms have a luxurious feel and the generosity of the hosts make for a very welcoming atmosphere.
Breakfast trays: simple, plentiful and nicely presented are labelled and set in the downstairs common room where a meet and greet (optional) allows a great opportunity to catch up with fellow residents and exchange experiences about the best things to do and places to go.
Set a little out of town in a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood where other gorgeous old style homes are located was perfect for us.
Communication with our hosts was a pleasant and easy experience and nothing seemed too much trouble.
Very highly recommended.

Dragonfly Inn is a well maintained heritage listed accommodation that radiance the warmth, care and thoughtfulness of Tom, Bee and the Dragonfly team.
The mattress and pillows were comfy, room was clean, spacious and the fire place fixture really give special warm feeling.
There are two folded luggage racks. I travelled 5-6 months in a year and never ever found such a thoughtful facilities, even in the 5 stars hotel!
The breakfast basket was generous, neat, carefully thought about and dinning room setting made us able to meet new friends.
The complimentary James Boag beer, ginger ale, cheese and crackers plus a knife was a sweet bonus treat, I believe it was prepared with smile.
Highly recommended!

This is my first ever trip to Launceston, Tasmania.

Airport to the hotel, my sister and I had the airport taxi, 15 minutes drive to the hotel and cost about 27 dollars more or less.

Had an early checked in, left luggage at a nearby designated storage and went to the nearest attraction - Gorge Scenjc Chairlift. Then went to Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery.. and so on.

came back late instead of having the early check in.. instructions were posted depending on the room that was booked.

Had a studio unit for ourselves. It was a quiet room and descent size kitchen, bedroom and toilet/bath (bath tub).

Room is modern with ac, kitchen with stove / oven and fridge and utensils too. If you love to cook, this is the place for you.

Toilet and bath is of descent size.. comes with a bath tub as well as bubble bath and epsom salt soak. Great to unwind and have a warm bath to relax all the tense muscle after a day of nonstop walking under the sun.

Bed size is queen, freshly spread sheets and supplies were provided. No bedroom slipper provided but other amenities like hair drier, flat iron are provided.

Location is great as it was about 15 minutes trip from the nearest airport. It was about 5 minutes drive to the nearest coles. Unfortunately, I don’t drive therefore had to get a taxi everytime, rate starts at 3.90 and an increment of 10 cents..

I would highly recommend this property if you want a quiet and descent place to stay. Very homely and comfy wish I can stay for an entire week and just unwind and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere away from the city life (Sydney). To the hotel owner and staff, thank you so much for the warm hospitality. The breakfast platter is awesome. To Tom and Bec, I appreciate you for sharing the best of tasmania - can of James Boags Draught, Dry Ginger from Hartz, and the Ashgrove Tasmanian Cheese. This isn’t just a business for you, it’s like welcoming me a stranger into a home.

For those who wants to unwind. Best to come to Dragonfly Inn. This will be your best experience ever!

Hubby and I stayed in the Georgia Room upstairs. It was the only room left so we knew The Inn was going to be great as it was popular. You have a code to enter when you arrive and your very generous breakfast basket is in the fridge downstairs each day so there aren't any staff staying onsite except for when the housekeeping staff are around. The communication beforehand and after was exceptional. I have never stayed at a hotel before that is so organised. They had thought of EVERYTHING and the in room booklet with all the information was so comprehensive. They even had some little things in the bathroom cupboard to wedge into the window if they were creaking (but they didn't creak). Really easy parking which was one of the reasons we chose the Inn. If you like to have staff/owners around all the time for chats etc then this wont work for you as it really is a different/new concept for independent travellers. We like our privacy but it was also nice to chat to a few of the other people who stayed there when we had our brekkie in the large dining room. Really impressive accommodation. Well worth the money. Would stay there again.

Wow is the only word I can use to describe this accomodation. They have thought of everything to make their guests totally comfortable and their price was great as well. Treat yourself and spend a night or more here while in Launceston. Feel totally looked after.

The Dragonfly Inn is a fantastic place to stay while exploring Launceston! The historic building is stunning, and beautifully furnished and decorated inside with many antiques in the gorgeous communal dining area, large hallways and wooden staircase. We stayed in the Audrey room, which was beautifully styled with a four-poster bed, massive spa bath and imitation fireplace (which still created a beautiful atmosphere!). Our room had two French doors that lead onto an upper verandah, with great views over Launceston. We sat out on the verandah each morning to have our breakfast, which was a peaceful way to start the day. The breakfast itself is very generous in size (cereal or muesli, toast, yoghurt, fruit and juice), and is organised in a labelled basket in the dining room fridge, meaning you can take it back to your room if you'd like. The attention to detail in everything, including a coffee and tea tray in the room, local beer and cheese in the room fridge, extra supplies and toiletries, and books and games (including a beautiful chess set!) was very appreciated, and made for a very comfortable stay. We would definitely recommend the Dragonfly Inn, and would absolutely stay here again if we were back in Launceston!

This old ship captains mansion has been adapted to an Airbnb. Full of antiques and artworks it fills the senses with a sense of comfort and history. It is extremely well organised with a generous breakfast offered to guests in the mornings including plunger coffee! Guests are encouraged to mingle for drinks early evening. It is situated in walking distance to many pubs and restaurants and is on a hill overlooking west Launceston. Everything is clean and there is a lovely rose garden and verandah to sit on and admire the view. Our flight arrived late but it was no problem with the self check in. I highly recommend this service to anyone visiting Tasmania.

Generous breakfast basket provisions for 2 containing the following: 4 slices bread, 4 eggs ( poached or soft boiled), 2 containers muesli,( these can be swapped for nutragrain, rice bubbles, cornflakes or sachet porridge), 2 yoghurts, 2 diced fruit cups, 1 carton milk, teabags, coffee choice of sachet, plunger and nespresso pod machine, 5 butters, 2 honey, 2 vegemite, 2 jam, 2 peanut butters, 2 apricot jams, 2 glasses of fruit juices, There is a large dining room that is setup for guests to prepare their own food and eat there or take into your room.
It is really a lovely setup you can chat and mingle, or retreat to your own room.

This is the second stay, last being 4 years prior. Rooms are private, large, and comfortable.

Also, the fridge had a welcome gift of 2 bottles of carbonated cordial and a small ashgrove cheese with biscuits and cheese knife to use. This could have been wine, but we dont drink

We would easily recommend to friends and family and without hesitation stay again.

Everytime I come to Launceston I stay here. So accommodating even when I always check in very late. I get the best sleep and then wake to a wonderful breakfast that I can cater for myself. Plenty of food is given and the fridge in the room comes with some complimentary snacks. The gardens are amazing and I enjoy a cheese platter and a bottle of vino when I stay. A delightful place to stay.

We stayed at the Dragonfly Inn for 3 nights in June (long weekend). It's a lovely old house, the snacks & breakfast were appreciated. Our room Georgia had a lounge area, comfy bed & a split system that kept the bedroom/lounge area toasty & warm.
However the bathroom & the area ( bar fridge, tea & coffee making & desk) that you walk though to get to the bathroom was bitterly cold. You could not stand on the bathroom floor or the carpeted area in bare feet as it was incredibly cold.
We didn't complain as we didn't know what they could do to warm it up.
Maybe a panel heater in the carpeted walk through area. Yes it was a very cold weekend in Launceston, but you can't expect people to be that cold.
It's very good value, esp with breakfast provided each day & we would stay again, but probably in a different room
