Stayed here to visits friends and an appointment the following day made sense instead of driving back up the coast then back down again. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was comfy and I was very warm. The bathroom was well appointed with an amazing shower. Close to all facilities and the CBD and is on good bus... More

A truly delightful Grand House. I spent 2 nights here whilst completing a training course, and it was simply superb. The house itself is a great sight, and the room was ultra convenient and comfortable. That said, I had a car. This is not right in the city, and would be a reasonable walk. This will be my first choice... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay in this Grand Old Lady. True to character with mod cons. We were extremely comfortable in our spacious room with large bathroom and a kitchenette. Zhu was very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. He even offered to post back some items we left in our robe. Great location just a... More

This venue looks pleasant on the internet and so we chose it as a self contained unit (family unit) . Our great disappointment was the heavily stained carpet in the living area that made the space unattractive rather than "cosy" . The carpet is very tired and stained. It would be worthwhile having tiles in this area as it is... More

24/04/16. Stayed three nights in this Georgian house 500 metres from CBD. A heritage building, built 120 years ago and now converted to about 9 rooms, each with own bathroom. Friendly and efficient owner/manager. Very comfortable. Bathroom tiny, but worked. Bedroom large with high ceilings, many paintings and quiet with secure parking at rear. Good value for a short stay... More

Lovely room, with a mini kitchen that had all you needed to make your stay comfortable. Bathroom was small but clean and tidy. Port and sherry laid on with a comfy sofa to enjoy it on. Very helpful person checked us in and helped with our bags. The street out the front is busy to try the car out of... More

I chose this hotel because I like old buildings. The room is cosy and has everything you need, even mini kitchen! You can heat food and do simple cooking in a microwave. In the living area on 2nd floor, they give free Sherry and Tawny Port to drink. In room, they give you two apples. Little things that we didn't... More

We paid for an upgrade to a spa room but was disappointed to discover it was in the front of the building which is adjacent to a busy city road. Traffic noise tended to be annoying until 10.00pm and noticeable again from about 6.00am the next morning. Disappointed with the slow WiFi speed during our visit.

Kilmarnock House is a beautiful old residence in a nice part of Launceston. We were passing through and only stayed one night, but would have stayed longer if we could. The room we stayed in was just gorgeous and very well equipped. The bathroom was tiny, but that didn't detract from the room. Onsite parking is provided, and the ingenious... More

Kilmarnock House presents as a quaint historical residence which appears charming to the overnight short term guest but as we discovered in a week long stay that it is very much lacking in service of the quality expected for the price. Minimal care or interest is shown. Towels are changed upon request but very little else. To expect more substantial... More
