Overnight stop at start of our Tassie trip. Comfortable room and bathroom. Room faced the road so a bit noisy. Thete were ear plugs provided. The breakfast was excellent. Hot breakfast with eggs cooked to perfection . The breakfast room could be a bit more organized with cutlery. Very pleasant area however.

We stayed here for 4 nights for the MONA FOMA festival. We arrived pretty late at night (10:45pm after some flight delays) and, thankfully there was someone at reception. Check in was easy and the staff were pleasant.

The room was a little on the small side, but very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was very modern (refurbished) and spotlessly clean as well. There was a basic but useful mini bar.

Our room faced the lovely City Park but also the road. The windows are double glazed so the noise is pretty well kept out BUT I prefer sleeping with some fresh air coming in. This isn't possible. Even though Launceston is a small city, Brisbane Street is a busy/noisy main/through-road, so the window had to be kept closed. There was air-con if the room got warm/stuffy though.

It would be great if you could get a coffee after 'breakfast is officially over at 10am'.

It would also be good to be told at check-in that the front doors are locked at night.

When I arrived home at about 1am on my first night, the doors were locked and there was no keycard entry pad, or an after hours phone number to call. I must admit to having a small panic as to how we were going to get in! Eventually we worked out that there is another access at the rear but I think it's important to tell guests this when they arrive.

The hotel is in easy walking distance of everything in the city and they have a storage room for left luggage (no charge) which is always a bonus.

We stayed here for one night. The room was small but adequate. The bathroom has been updated (just be mindful that the tiles in the shower are a bit slippery near the drain). The room was clean & comfortable & the location was within easy walking distance of the town center.

We had breaky as part of the package & the 2 dishes we got were nice & were large portions.

There is parking onsite but it's not under cover & the property is on a hill so walking around is not flat.

We'd probably not stay here again but that's more about experiencing different places.

I was a bit worried when I read the review after I booked the hotel however it turned out to be a good experience. The driveway to the carpark is a very steep slop and a fairly tight turn. As A+ Gold member we booked a double queen room and got a newly renovated room facing away from the street, and it was whisper quite and no noise at all. All the basic in room amenity is present and in line for a Mercure in Australia. Location is fairly central and bed is comfortable. Breakfast was slightly fatty but comes down to personal taste. Dinner was good however children meal have a very small serving. Check in and check out is smooth.

Will come back again in visiting in the future.

Upon entering your room, a pair of earplugs is on the table with a warning that these might be necessary. Indeed, they are. I didn't sleep well even with the earplugs. The noise from a busy street below is hard to shut out. I stayed here for one night, and didn't sleep well.

A great location, friendly reception, but a rather ordinary motel and high price for what you get. Would recommend only if you are a heavy sleeper.

Dear TravelingBear42, Thank you for your review of Mercure Launceston, I was happy to read that the location was great and the staff friendly and welcoming. I do apologize in relation to any traffic noise, we are situated in the city centre and we understand that at times there can be noise generated by traffic. For any future stays, do have rooms situated away from the street access which will offer less noise and a more relaxed stay. Thank you again for taking the time to provide us with your feedback, we do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back again. Kind Regards, Natasha Beck Assistant General Manager

Had an overnight stay after a few days in Burnie for work. Was in one of the Premier rooms, these are great and I would recommend booking these. Earplugs are provided for people not used to the city sounds. As I live in central Adelaide I didnt need the plugs at al, on fact it wasn't noisy at all. The rain shower was great. The staff are great too with a special mention to Chellsie in the restaurant who has a great sense of humor and makes all guests very welcome. As an Accor Platinum member I was well looked after and this was greatly appreciated.

We booked our 5 night stay at the Mercure as an Accor package deal, described as "a quiet light-filled room, stylish décor and posturepedic king, Smart TV with Foxtel, workspace and USB compatibility, sleek bathroom with rain shower, complimentary WIFI and parking, breakfast included". It was all as described but Room 120 did not have the most enjoyable of views. Check-in and check-out was easy, staff friendly and professional, voucher for welcome drinks and a trio of chocolates each were a nice touch. Free parking but could be challenging depending on available bays. Notwithstanding the view, our stay was an overall enjoyable experience with great facilities and pleasant helpful staff at all levels, and worth a rating of 5*

Upon arrival, the staff were very polite and pleasant, but when I walked into my room, I was taken a back. Although the room was very spacious, with a large queen size bed, as well as a 3 seater sofa, and a desk and other typical hotel room furniture, as well as a very spacious bathroom, with double headed shower, there was NO external window.

The two small windows, had frosted glass over them, so I had no idea what the weather was like outside. I wasn't too sure if this "window" was just a backlit box box, made to resemble a window (with internal blinds installed to block out the light) or an actual window, that had been frosted.

I noticed the light levels fade, so I assumed it was an external window, but who would know?

This was very disappointing and I expressed this disappointment to the staff soon after my arrival. I didn't request a change of room, but I did say that the hotel should alert people who book this room (I never specifically requested this room) that the room has no external window. I didn't expect a view out over the street, even a view over the side lane or rear carpark would have provided some sense of life, but one would not know what was happening outside, other than to walk out the front door.

I stayed here for one night, im glad it wasn't more. The rooms have been renovated in recent times so they are clean, tidy, yet small and a little cramped compared to most standard hotel rooms these days.

The bed was comfy, bathroom clean, small, and hardly any space to place a toiletry bag, but for one night it was O-K.

The room i had faced the main road which was noisy!! I had a terrible sleep as the noise of the cars throughout the night kept me awake. The windows are paper thing and old school type windows, and obviously not double glazed so you hear everything outside.

On arrival i was looking for some lunch, but the place doesn't do lunch at the moment, perhaps due to covid or the numbers in the hotel, but breakfast was decent and a few good options on the menu. good coffee and service in the restaurant.
Plenty of options 10min walk away for food as well, but no options for lunch.

Parking is available on site, outdoor parking, but its convenient.

I just found the overall stay was average, noisy room = poor sleep quality.
There are other room options away from the road which i guess if you knew this you could ask to be put in, rather than the noisy front rooms, but perhaps they keep these for high tier members?!
