Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I booked an apartment here last year and covid hit so luckily got money back after a few emails back and forth. Rebooked late last year for April this year and luckily emailed them to confirm our booking in a few weeks time and they said they had sent me an email mid Feb (which I did not receive) to say they are not taking short term stays anymore only long term stays. So three weeks out I was madly looking for somewhere else to stay. Not very good customer service or loyalty. Thought they would at least have the decency to call me in this case and would have thought that any stay would have been appreciated in these times.

This is a lovely apartment in a great location. We stayed in the Terrace Apartment (1 bedroom), & they kindly put a mattress on the floor for our son. For a small space, the kitchen had everything you could need. Coffee from cafe included was a lovely treat & good restaurants (Geromino's) a short stroll

We stayed at the Bakehouse and was a wonderful place to stay. Close to cafes and grocery but the kitchen was well stocked with breakfast provisions and had everything you need. Very comfortable and James and Pia were on hand if needed. Great to have a laundry next door as well. Accommodation was spacious and cosy all at the same time. Plenty of room to relax with a sunny courtyard. If we’re ever in Launceston again, we wouldn’t hesitate to return.

242 is an excellent location with walking distance to the city centre and restaurants and supermarket. We stayed in The Bakehouse and was plenty of room for 4 of us including 2 teenage boys. The use of the laundry and free coffee at Cafe Mondello was a bonus. A nice stay.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Lovely apartment with Coles just within walking distance. The apartment has a well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, and even magazines too. Complimentary coffee is also offered at the cafe below. There is also washing machine and dryer onsite, available for guests to use. The owner, James, is friendly and helpful, and offers recommendation on attractions to visit. All in all, we really enjoy our stay and thumbs up for TwoFourTwo!

We stayed in the Bakehouse for 3 nights with one other couple. The only comment that I would make is that one bedroom is complete but the second is a loft. The couple that we traveled with were happy when James suggested they move to The Terrace on our last night when it became available. Fresh bread, eggs, yogurt, juice delivered each day and it was fantastic. Also included were coffees in their cafe each morning. Lovely outside garden space with a BBQ I would highly recommend twofourtwo and would thank James and his crew for their wonderful hospitality.

Really great apartment in a fantastic spot. Easy walking distance to the city centre with own parking. Very clean and tidy with every convenience available. Quaint staircase which looks brilliant with the lights on at night. Lovely coffee shop right under the apartment and sports bar / bistro on the same block. Marcia - Melbourne

I stayed in the Terrace apartment in November. The apartment is very well equipped, with all that you would need. It is a 2 story apartment with a spiral staircase so if someone has mobility issues this might not be appropriate for them. but other than that, the apartment was spotless, the bed was quite comfy, great location, easy walk to several restaurants and Café Mondello is right next door for a great breakfast. My host, James was at the Café every morning and was an awesome host. Gave me pointers about where to go and what to see. His staff in the Café are so pleasant. There is laundry facilities as well, which is very convenient. I felt very safe in this location, it was quiet and I loved returning to the apartment every evening. It was equipped with music and books, wi fi worked great. the kitchen is well equipped if you should be so inclined to do your own cooking. I hated to leave 242 and if I ever get the chance to return to Launceston, I won't look anywhere else for a place to stay. thank you again James and my regards to your wonderful staff. Colleen

We stayed twice at 242, both before and after our Overland Trek and we loved it. James was so nice and as we arrived on our flight from the UK late morning we were upgraded to the Bakehouse so we could rest as it was vacant and we loved it. It's equipped really well and the provisions for breakfast were superb from the loaf of bread to the avocado, eggs, jams and coffee capsules. It was all superb and so conveniently located for the cafe's including the Cafe Mondello which James owns and all the restaurants. Yet its so peaceful and quiet which was perfect. Its also about a 10min walk to Cataract Gorge which is a must if you love birds and wildlife which you can see at dusk. It couldn't have been better and we'd stay there again if we ever return to Tasmania.
