Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A very 70's era tourist park comprised mostly of self contained units. I loved this place. The price was right for us and our two dogs. A nice older 70's style brick self contained unit. Spacious with separate kitchen, god size flat screen TV, air con. A queen bed a bunk beds are all in the main room. Itd

Booked in to a powered caravan site for a couple of nights and found that they only had "powered en-suite sites. That 's good, but not really needed for a lot of folk. Didn't expect a caravan park to be on the same level as used by mountain goats, but this one was. Anyway the staff were good and efficient and helped us park up, but a level standing was hard to achieve.. The place is pretty old and needs a bit of modernisation. All in all, a couple of nights were quite enough. Our Toby did appreciate the very safe "off-leash" area and had a great run around.

Thank you for your response, although we are in need of a bit of an update, our aim is to try and provide neat & clean amenities for our customers, we do have the option of not using the ensuites, but you must have your own toilet on board to use, as we dont have public amenities, all of our sites are ensuited. Most of our sites are a good size and fairly level, there are the odd one or two with a bit of a slope, Sorry. We are glad that Toby enjoyed being able to run around in the dog park, we try our best to please all of our visitors, even our furry four legged friends. Kind regards, Allison

I'm on my way home for Christmas after a 'few days away' became nearly 2.5 months away. This is an addictive lifestyle, one that gives me the peace I need. I decided to stay in Mount Gambier before making the last long haul to home. I had read some rather off-putting reviews about this CP, and I've come to realise that (some) people seem to expect to live a champagne lifestyle on a beer budget. It is very rarely the case. I can only attest to what I've experienced as a patron here. Often, my choices are limited as I'm travelling alone with my German Shepherd and some parks don't allow animals, especially in peak times. When I initially contacted Allison to find out, she immediately said that dogs are very welcome, with the one proviso that they must be leashed at all times.

Thank you for your positive response, we are pleased that you have enjoyed your holiday stay with us, although as you say our facilities are not the most up to date, but we do try our best to make sure that they are clean and tidy, I thank you for your insight into the fact that it would be so much more beneficial to all involved if customers would come to us with any problems that they have, at the time, so that we may try and solve the problem, rather than go away feeling that they have not been given what they paid for, most problems can be easily fixed if we are at least given the chance. We have no problem with fixing anything that may arise, we are always available at the press of a button at any time. Hope you had a great Christmas. Thanks for your review. Best regards, Allison & Barry.

We stayed in a 3 bedroom cabin, which was very spacious and clean. The cabin is tired and outdated but the beds were comfortable. The kitchen cookware and utensils really need updating. Also the dining chairs are plastic outdoor chairs. The lady at reception was extremely welcoming and friendly. She told me all about the local area and marked everything on a map as she spoke.

We are always happy to welcome new people to our park, our aim is to make sure that your time with us is an enjoyable one, I am glad that you found your unit to be spacious and clean. We are in the process at the moment of upgrading our cookware and utensils, and hope to have this done in the near future, we take onboard the need to replace the plastic chairs also, (inherited from previous owners). We are currently awaiting the arrival of new carpet for the units, which will be the start to some further upgrades. Kind regards, Allison.

We only booked in to this Caravan Park as our travelling companions were under the impression that it was a Top Tourist Park - which they and us are both members. This turned out not to be the case, although they did honour the TTP membership and gave us the discount. The park is quite run down and needs a big upgrade, especially in the "cabins". Not really cabins, more like a 2 bedroom motel unit. Plenty of room, but sadly in dire need of upgrading. Getting rid of either the 3 seater lounge or the 2 big lounge chairs, and putting in a decent table and proper chairs, instead of a lowered bench and garden type plastic chairs. There was no air conditioning - just a gas heater, and no electric blankets - being in Mt Gambier, which can be very cold in the winter, these items would

Sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us. Although our units maybe a little out dated in their decor, we do provide clean, tidy, accommodation. We have found that most people would prefer to have a lounge area than have table and chairs, but this is just personal preference. We provide Gas Heaters as we have more cold weather than hot through out the year, Fans are provided for each room . All Queen beds are provided with electric blankets, and there are extra Doona's in the wardrobe, as it is very cold in winter. All units are fitted with smoke alarms, we will check to see why the smoke detector seems to be missing in this unit.

We were traveling with a small dog and were put into the more expensive cabins with ensuite and kitchen. Had all we needed for the night, was clean and comfy. Reception very friendly and keen to tell about the area. The heater was a bit old and noisy and we used our own warm doona and left heater off at night. The provided doona is a little skimpy and most people would need heater on when cold :) Very happy to stay here with dog, centrally located and only minutes drive to CBD and most sights.

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. We only allow pets to stay in our 1 bedroom units, as these have the fully enclosed alcove at the front of the unit that you can keep your furry friend in, Sorry that the air-con was noisy and the doona not suitable, we will check both of these and try to rectify the problem. Thank You for your review. Kind Regards, Allison.

We had a powered site and all powered sites have their own en suites which is wonderful as there's no walking across the park to get to the toilets and you get an actual key which means you don't have to remember a code to get in. Although we don't have any pets, it is very pet friendly with an area where dogs can run around off their leashes. The layout is very well thought out as the park is layered in terraces with the powered sites on the lowest level and the cabins on the upper terraces. The laundry facilities are wonderful and ample washing lines available discretely placed behind the laundry so it's nearby yet out of sight. Lovely friendly management staff who are only too glad to help out with information on local attractions. The office has an abundant supply of

We are glad that you have enjoyed your stay with us, Mount Gambier has some great attractions for visitors, only too happy to point them out. We do have the luxury of having a quiet rural setting, but still being only 5 minutes to town and our major attractions. If you come back this way, be sure to call in and meet our new addition to the family, Campbell our new baby goat, (still have Ernie). Thanks for your review. Kind regards, Allison.
