Detailed Reviews
Family glamping is the ultimate setup. In a huge tent which was light and airy in the day, with cosy warm beds at night, parents and kids were content. There were so many thoughtful details here, like our needs as a family were fully understood - festoon lights and night lamps for ambiance, a fire pit for marshmallows and stories, a free range kids area, playground and jumping pillow for energetic kids. Charging ports for phones, an umbrella for rain, and even a whole picnic basket for day trips. Clean Linen! Natural Fibre rugs underfoot! Tea, coffee and a fridge and microwave in the tent, plus a clean and spacious camp kitchen meant we could all eat our preferred foods (which is a big deal when taking fussy eaters travelling). The amenities were clean and even had fresh flowers on the benches and folk rock playing!
The location is not as close to Mt Gambier's attractions as some other parks, but this park is clearly well cared for and has a friendly vibe. It's a dog friendly park with a dedicated off lead area, meaning dog-shy kids and excitable dogs can be separated. And of course the Alpacas - what a lovely pair to keep you company with your morning coffee.
Skip the hotels, get into a glamping tent for a proper taste of luxury travel. Eleven stars, we will definitely be back.

Beautiful park with almost all drive through caravan sites. Sites are large and staff are helpful and friendly. Lots of green space, with a fully equipped camp kitchen, as well as a couple of outdoor sinks with the necessary tools to wash dishes. Toilet and shower cubicles are a little small but your stuff stays dry in the change area of the showers. Bathrooms were always kept clean. Prices are very reasonable despite this park not having a solo rate. Close enough to town even though there are no walking paths into Mount Gambier from this park. Wifi and phone connections, no matter who your server is, are very poor here. I would definitely recommend this very peaceful place to stay.

Thank you for the great review of our park! We certainly are in a great location being only 4km out of the town centre, yet offering that country feel. Unfortunately the wi-fi is out of our control as we are located in a gulley by the mountain. We do appreciate your recommendation to others.

Excellent park with huge camping space. Friendly & helpful staff, make sure the grounds remain sip shape. Pet friendly with large off lead exercise area.
Shower facilities are in constant use, and limited in number considering the number of campers this park can hold. There was never a queue though.

We enjoyed the open area’s. Close to town and attractions. The amenities were clean but very disappointed as we had cold showers the first two days here and there is no heater in the shower area either and they had the windows open which makes it even more colder especially when the showers weren’t hot. We literally froze. Spoke with another person staying there which informed us they told them about the problem with no hot showers 5 days earlier an nothing had been done. Every other place we have stayed in around this area were it is cold has had the amenities heated. Lots of potholes in the roads around the park which wouldn’t take much gravel to fill them all in. No grey water disposal spot on our powered site. Keypad for boom gate very low not designed for higher vehicles. Also the most expensive washers and dryers we have come across going around Australia so far.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. We apologise for the inconveniences that you had experienced while you were staying here but we can assure you that those issues have been resolved. We have hot showers in our amenity block as we needed to replace our service, and we have new bitumen roads all the way around the park. We do hope that you return to the park one day and see for yourself!

Had a great winter stay here in the 2-bedroom pet friendly cabin. For our Pomchi, good sized yard for him to wander and we could keep him inside during cold nights. A fenced paddock for him to run leash-free another bonus. For us humans, very clean and comfy cabin. Heater was great and beds had warm blankets too. Small fridge so I don’t recommend relying on freezing anything large or for longer than overnight. Kettle n toaster provided; we didn’t use the hot plate to cook but there were some basic cookery pots n utensils there. We were out most of the time but 12 yr old had a moan about the limited wifi n poor reception at times. So much to see in Mt Gambier n surroundings, so wifi not an issue for us oldies. 3 of us in the cabin; table n chairs for 4 but small wee couch for 2. Overall it served our needs really well and we’d definitely stay again. Looked like good facilities for those camping, glamping or caravanning from what we could tell.

Thank you for the great review Tess! We are glad to hear that everyone (including your dog) enjoyed the stay in our cabin. Unfortunately there is not a lot we can do about the wi-fi as it can be patchy due to our location. But yes you're right, there is a lot to see and do in Mount Gambier.

+1
Pine Country Caravan Park is just lovely. There is so much open area and green grass everywhere. Super clean facilities. Our cabin was very clean, quiet and comfortable. Our cabin air conditioning was excellent and the showers were warm with good water pressure. The electric blankets for Winter were a bonus. There was a great BBQ area and our kids loved the playground and being so close to the animals. So much to see in Mt Gambier. Lots of walks and sight seeing close to Caravan Park. Don’t miss the Little Blue Lake and Umpherston Sinkhole. Close to Port MacDonnell which is recommended for a day trip.

From the get go we were over the moon with the friendliest service and how nice the people are running the site.
We stayed in one of the glamping tents (which was furnished so nicely and even came with a mini kitchen!)
While we were packing up from dinner one of the owners of the site came out to greet us and check we had everything we needed for a comfortable night. We were having trouble with lighting a fire (only because of our own incompetence) and he seamlessly helped us get one started and off he went.
For a calm, quiet time we recommend this sit highly!

We absolutely loved our 5 nights camping at Pine Country Caravan Park. The facilities are some of the best we experienced in our three month trip; a generous camp kitchen (including air fryer!), bouncing pillow and playground and the best shower pressure! The park was neat and spacious and we loved being able to hire a fire pit (with wood, kindling and newspaper) to keep warm at night. Thanks for the great stay!

Called these guys as my partner and I drive into Mount Gambier and enquired as to whether they had any unpowered sites where we could roll the swag out. The lady on the phone was so helpful. When we got to the front, it looked incredibly clean and well maintained.
Reception were again extremely helpful and friendly and handed us a map to guide us to our site.
We got to camp and set up our swag.
We then went to have a look at the amenities which were very clean and tidy. The showers were awesome with heaps of pressure and instant hot water.
We then went for a bit of an explore but came back and were surprised to see live music being played around the bbq/kitche/dining area, we quickly parked up our car and watched the live music whilst standing around a fire pit. Never did I expect to have such a great night at a caravan park.
We enjoyed our stay enough to book in for a second night. There was no live music on the 2nd night but the park was an absolute please to be at.
If we ever go through Mount Gambier again we will definitely stay here again.
Highly recommend to anyone heading this way.

Such a great place to stay. Grassy sites. Super clean facilities. Friendly staff. Perfect place to explore local attractions. A great stopover on the way to the Great Ocean Road.
Location is back from the main road so it is more peaceful, avoiding road noise. Still an easy walk to the Blue Lake.
