I didn’t realise this was a “pub with 3 rooms” when I booked (silly me, neglected to read the reviews). Didn’t matter; we were made to feel very welcome. Our room, Carey, was a little basic but it had some good features. However, the a/c started to drip water onto the sofa within an hour so we were moved to room Pierce. This was twice the size of Carey and with better quality and amenities. The bathroom door (in both rooms) has louvers so it’s not very private; odd, but not a problem for us. The bed was very comfortable; the TV rotates from the ample sitting area to the bedroom area. There is a Nespresso coffee machine and a milk frother in each room. The wifi was good and we were quite comfortable here. We asked for a late checkout as we were waiting for Covid test results and this was granted generously. Unfortunately for our travel plan the delayed result turned into an extra night at the Park. The staff
here are stars, especially Gemma and Del; very helpful and jovial.

We were pleasantly surprised by the room that has been renovated: it's large and clear, the bathroom is very nice, everything was super clean. The building itself is cozy et has a warm feeling, with the bar and restaurant on the first floor but still quiet at night in the room. Also a well appointed communal kitchen where we cooked our dinner and items for the breakfast were provided. We really loved our stay and recommend that place!

Exceeded my expectations. Someone has put allot of effort into rennovating this beautiful old building and the rooms are very generously sized. There is a bottle store, bar and restaurant on site and they have pool tables also. I would absolutely make a point of staying here if i am passing through mt gambier again. Staff were great also

Excellent meal and the lunch time menu was very reasonable. Food was very tasty and size was really good . Met our expectations. $20 was good value for money as it included a dessert. Salad bar was very good - lots of choices. We did not expect a salad bar for a $20 deal

This hotel is fine for accommodation but the dining here is not such a good experience, we thought of trying it but big mistake. Couldn’t finish our food as Risotto smelling awful. Fish was not cooked properly, kids finish their steak though. It wasn’t busy at all and not much choice for drinks either. Evening wasted..

My wife and I stayed the night at this Hotel on our South Australia road trip. Located close to everything. The staff are very friendly but the stand out was their food. I had a 500gm rump steak with all the lashings and I was in heaven!
Our room was clean and pleasant (nothing too special) and served it’s purpose - a bed for the night. It was quiet and cosy.
This isn’t a very flashy place but We had no complaints and again, the staff were engaging and very friendly.

We were pleasantly surprised by this Hotel.

It has 3 rooms upstairs in the the old part of the Hotel. Our room was vast. It had a sitting room, bedroom and bathroom. It has lofty 14 foot (?) ceilings giving an immense feeling of space. The bathroom has a quality spa in the centre of the room. The room had 5 windows letting in the lovely winter light. The room looks over the bowling club. The room was quiet having double glazing. There was some noise leakage from the public bar below. You have access to a public kitchen shared with the other three rooms where they leave you the ingredients for a full cooked breakfast. A nice touch! Unfortunately their is only one frypan which can be in demand if everyone wants to cook at once. The pub seems nice and well run with a reasonably priced menu.

This Hotel is out of the ordinary compared to the stock standard Hotel fare Mount Gambier has an over supply of. Its certainly worth trying.

booked this hotel on Wotif two months ahead of our intended stay, and paid the money. On arrival after a 7 hour drive, we were treated with blank looks when we tried to book in. First of all the hotel representative denied we had made a booking. When shown the paper evidence she then said the room was occupied and she couldn't help us. We asked for the Manager and after pushing, she rang the Manager who didn't answer his/her phone and appeared to be taking a day off in this extremely busy period when the town accommodation was extremely heavily booked. On being told that it was the hotel's responsibility to find us alternate accomm since the hotel had overbooked, she denied that she had to do this, and told us to ring Wotif since it was their mistake, not the hotel's. she refused to do so, despite the fact that we were desperate for a room and knew nothing about Mount Gambier and it was 5pm on Saturday 27th December. At this stage we gave up on the Park Hotel and cursed that we had ever decided to make this trip and choose this totally incompetent and unhelpful hotel. We finally, after 25 minute wait on our mobile phone, contacted Wotif, who advised that a) the hotel should have contacted them, not us, b) the hotel had overbooked its room and c) they would have to contact the hotel to cancel the booking before they could try to get us anything else. At this point my mobile ran out of juice. to see what turned into a happy outcome, read our review of the Mount Gambier Hotel.

My apartment covered the half of the hotels top floor. Very clean and modern stylish bathroom. Sitting room still retaining some old time features. Shared kitchen just down the hall. No noise from the pub below at night.

Very nice stay would book again if in mt gambier

We stayed here for one night on our way to the great ocean road. The larger room was the only room left, as they only have 3

The room was large and clean, and it was nice to sit with out feet up infont of the fire.
The rooms are above a large pub with a gaming room but we didn't hear any noise.
The bed was very comfortable.

Just a couple of negatives:
The blinds in the bathroom do not fit properly and the bedroom was flooded with light from the large light at the front of the pub all night and the daylight when the sun came up.
We were told all the breakfast provisions were in the kitchen for us to make breakfast. What they didn't tell us was that the bacon was in the freezer, so when we went in to make breakfast in the morning we couldn't have bacon as it was frozen solid.
So we decided we would go out for breakfast. We felt this could be a bit of a ploy as one other couple came into the kitchen at the same time, and also decided to eat elsewhere.
The tea and coffee provisions were very poor.
Disappointing.
