We stayed in Best Western Southgate motel for one night.

We liked:
Location is superb. Walking distance to main market area and main attraction like Umpherston Sinkhole.
5-10 minutes drive to Blue Lake
Value for money
Spacious and well furnished room
Neat and clean bedroom and washroom
Friendly staff
Swimming pool, bbq and outdoor sitting area near swimming pool

We did not like:
The room was stinking slightly (probably needs an air freshener)
Refrigerator was hard to open as it was fitted in a small wooden cupboard

It was a good experience right from going in to the lobby. There was a wedding on that night so the guy at the front desk gave us a room far away from the reception and upgraded us to a King suite because of all the walking we would have to do. The room itself was large, clean and well equipped. The bathroom was huge and also spotless. The bed was very comfortable and we had a decent night’s sleep. The restaurant was closed but we had access to room service if we wanted. There is plenty of parking and easy access to the building. We used the pool. It was cool but had not been cleaned for awhile. Maybe after the summer holidays are over nobody uses the pool. However, the temperature outside was 30C and after a day of driving it would have been relaxing.

Had the appartment overnight very spacious with everything we needed, beds were comfortable just let people know the water pressure can cause exfoliation if the tap is turned up high. the service was great and helpful. The only issue was the person prior didi not know how to turn the dishwasher on so the dishes were not clean and there was hair all over the bathroom, all in all a good night stay thanks

Efficient booking process on line, at check in and check out.
Spacious refurbished room, very clean and well set out.
Comfortable king size bed, with choice of blanket or quilt.
Appreciated the small self catering touches, to make breakfast on the go( own supplies)
Good parking available, and we were not disturbed by noise from patrons or vehicles.
Planning to stay again in March.

We booked this motel for a 3 night stay, it was a beautiful room for such a modest price. The shower was amazing and spacious, the bed was extremely comfortable. They made sure that our requests were met (needed a spare power point beside particular side of bed for medical equipment). When we had a family emergency and had to cut our trip short, the motel staff were absolutely wonderful and understanding. Highly recommend this motel and we will be returning to stay here again. Great location, on the main street but not too close to all the hustle and bustle.

Stayed for one night on a little south coast of Australia trip Its more a hotel than a motel , my room was upstairs , no parking outside the room Plenty of spaces in the car park , in all fairness Helpful friendly welcome , the clocks behind reception were very useful to remind me that SA is in a different time zone to Victoria Lift was reliable , room was excellent with an extremely comfy bed , probably the best on my 6 week trip , fast wifi , generous tea and coffee supplies and a smart very modern bathroom . I didnt see much sign of the restaurant being open , but I ate in a pub down the road . I drove into town the next morning for breakfast , but was told its about twenty minutes walk Its a fine place to stay

Booked the best room premier king.
Was very average, reception was quite unwelcoming, website says book direct for early check in and check out. Got there at 1:10pm as was told "well your early I suppose the rooms clean".
Room was big which was nice, though the smell wasn't great.
Toilet was dirty, they had tried to hide the broken blind and dust. Not to mention the heating did not work, have a look at the photos of how old it is! Apparently recently renovated. The only room that was renovated was the bath room which was not clean, smell of sewerage up the shower drains was disgusting. You'll see in the photo the toilet isn't clean and found toe nails on the bathroom floor. For the premium price I regret the stay. Only two nice things was the bath and mattress.

Stayed here for 3 nights.
Great location close to tourist attractions and shopping.
Room and bathroom very spacious, beds comfy.
The restaurant meal was very good value.
Checkin was quick and easy, staff members very polite.
Pool was lovely, just a little more shade for people sitting around in sun watching family members in pool would be ideal.
Would highly recommend staying here.

As a last minute detour we stayed in Mt.Gambier and were lucky to find this hidden gem. As a frequent traveller in Australia and internationally I have stayed at many places, with 5 stars! I would highly recommend this beautiful boutique motel, newly renovated and well appointed. The service was incredible, from checkin, restaurant recommendations, assistance with parking our trailer, local area knowledge. Thank you Jayden and David for making us feel so welcome. I only wish we had stayed longer and could have enjoyed a swim and the restaurant!

Un clean bathroom grime around shower and what i assume to be soap on the hand basin, dusty couch. Very uncomfortable pillows and mattress. Dont have anything good to say really. Feel like your walking around in an old hospital in Hall ways, out of date decor Wouldnt recommend Wont return.
