Hotel's Favourite
Ideal place for a quick visit or if you are visiting for site seeing in Mount Gambier area. Very close to most of the key places to visit. The hotel / motel was clean and nice with comfortable rooms and clean toilets. Wish the pool was heated as it’s indoor and I am sure with some solar panels the hotel will have no electricity cost running a heat pump in doing this and will greatly benefit the guests (specially the kids). Didn’t get to try the restaurant (May be next time). I deal place to take a rest while driving between Adelaide and Melbourne.

We came as 2 family groups in 2 family rooms.
We booked based on the fact that websites advised there was a pool and BBQ facilities. Unfortunately on arrival we discovered that there were no BBQ facilities. The pool was a good size and enclosed under cover but not heated at all.
The on-site restaurant looked nice and for the most part was ok for breakfast(can’t comment on other meals as we didn’t use it) however for the amount you pay for pancakes and what you get I wouldn’t advise. I think it was $20 and it came with 2 small pancakes and a few pieces of berries.
The room servicing was abysmal! We stayed for 6 nights and only one of those days were both rooms fully serviced, all beds made, toilets cleaned, bins emptied, coffee cups washed and fresh towels provided. It was not vacuumed during the time we were there. Most days we were only given fresh towels and the bin was emptied. The room itself was a decent enough size and the beds were comfy.
A bonus was a guest laundry which was free to use with a washer and dryer available.

We stayed at The Henty for four nights as a family of four in a Deluxe Twin Room. We chose to stay here instead of a caravan park simply because it was so much cheaper. We are so glad we did. The hotel itself is old but our room had been beautifully renovated with two very comfortable queen beds, a lovely bathroom and enough space to fit a cot (an absolutely rarity in many hotels)! The sliding door opened out on a grassed area where the kids could play and it was only a five second walk to the pool. Our only small request would be a microwave. It was impossible to heat a bottle or reheat food if we needed to.
We would definitely recommend The Henty for a very comfortable stay on the Limestone Coast.

Family room (2 singles, & double), not huge, but very clean and very comfortable beds. Huge shower with good water pressure, odd arrangement of mirror beside vanity making it difficult to use. Friendly and easy check in/out. We had room 17 which used to have an adjoining door to next room that has been permanently closed off, but we could hear every word of the family next to us. We didn't try breakfast at motel (a bit overpriced) but there are some great cafes in town to choose from for a late breakfast or brunch. Overall, good value and very clean!

After travelling the Great Ocean Road and staying in some average accommodation we were pleasantly surprised when we walked into our modern clean family room upstairs on the end. Wifi worked well, shower was great and bed comfortable. We dined at the Noky restaurant on site and the service and the meal were great and looked like a lot of locals dined there. When it came time to sleep it was so noisy with traffic throughout the night that it kept us awake for much of the night.

A group of probus members stayed 3 nights at this motel. Large spacious rooms that had been recently renovated were good , although if you have 2 queen beds in a room there is no couch. All our rooms were downstairs so no issues with access.Bathroom was good and a large tv completed the picture. Motel is on Princes hwy but noise was minimal . Food including breakfasts was very good, and this motel has a small comfortable bar

The majority of rooms are in a motel style block. A microwave and some cooking facilities are provided. The rooms are a good size and include a sofa and good working are with plenty of room to spread out documents.
The restaurant provided good fayre but was not particularly cheap but was popular with locals. It met our needs.

Got seved a massive, long,tough,gray/blonde hair, with my Mexican entre, nearly power spewed out of the restaurant, never been served a human hair piece in a meal in my life,on top of the tiny beer glasses, and outdated restaurant, we went back to the room and ordered domino's, management, didn't even call the room to assist with the unsettling relationship between guest and management. Kitchen looked dirty.lots of greasy hair in this place.

We share your disappointment with your restaurant experience and this very unfortunate event. This feedback for us is certainly not common, and we take it to heart. We have addressed the feedback with all of our team. Our modern restaurant reopened in late September following a substantial renovation to the venue's dining, bar and function facilities, and the new beer glass size is a 285ml schooner, although a different shape to the usual. We can ensure you our kitchen is clean, and we take our processes and systems for all areas of service seriously, this is also why we are deeply disappointed to hear of your experience. We can accept your frustration and feelings towards our restaurant, however following you approaching the front of house and kitchen staff, Management was on site and did approach you to try and rectify the issue, although your frustration and unwillingness to discuss the matter with our General Manager made it difficult to resolve the issue face to face. We, too are unsettled by being unable to resolve this with you. We extend our sincere apologies for your disappointing experience, and we thank you for choosing to stay at The Henty.

I have just had a two night stay and was very disappointed with the customer service and the room.
There was no menu or QR code in the room and no details on how to dial out for the reception.
I phoned the reception from my mobile phone and Lilly could not tell me what number to use to contact reception and that I should google the menu for room service and then phone back on my mobile to order.
Not to mention the bed was uncomfortable hard and had obviously not been rotated for a very long time.
Weird set up in the bathroom, no mirror above the vanity, just a frosted glass window, the mirror was to one side with no lighting.
No bottles of water in the fridge???????????????
When i checked out, there was no good morning or friendly face.
As a frequent business traveler to Mount Gambier, I will not be staying there again.
