Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Stayed in the superior room, absolutely beautifully appointed. Spotlessly clean and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, I even stripped it so I could get the make! Huge shower, loads of supplies and great service. Close to everything and quiet location. Staff were wonderful and helpful. Loads of info available.

Stayed 5 nights it was great I really do not agree with post below as they were very nice and helpful, the cabins are clean and the amenities were spotless I stayed in a standard cabin with no ensuite and found it to be fine I will definitely stay here again the prices are fantastic and so close to everything. Thankyou for making my stay a very enjoyable one.

I was a bit concerned at first regarding some reviews - but then so many places have so many up and down reviews that make you think twice. I could not decide to go with 3 or 4 ratings - but clicked 4 (very good) - that is because it you take it for what it is it is a great spot, if you wanted the Hilton then its not the correct spot for you. We stayed here for a sporting meet with my 2 kids and their 2 mates. So I took a chance as it is central and handy and it was not the end of the world if it was not so good.
Cabin 20
Clean: yes totally clean - clean linen - floor clean - bathroom clean - so that's a great start
Water: hot no worries
Service: friendly very country casual, nice
Nothing really for young kids - no big playgrounds etc - mine are 11 - 17 so not really needed
very handy location - near woolies petrol - pizza - other take away - 1 minute drive to Coles
TV reception perfect
Car parking plenty of space

For campers - it was green grass (DEC) this is Mt Gambier after all, neat and tidy - is close to the road so not a bush privacy set up at all - would be perfect for travelers - staying a little while for caving trips - checking the blue lake - on the way to Melbourne - Great ocean road - perfect. I would not go for a 2 week family holiday as its smaller and has less for kids cabin or camping just not that sort of park.

Ablution block - we did not use them but I did check them out - they were older style - but clean - very small camp cooking area but adequate.

I think that if I was expecting a caravan park cabin - all good no worries - but had I expected a honeymoon suite then I would have been disappointed. If I booked for my long awaited 2 week holiday and thought the kids could run wild - not so good. so sporting meetings, cave trips, check the lake, couple of night to visit Mt Gambier people - Perfect spot. Its a clean neat stop over spot.

We had booked this place for the weekend for a family event, and I can honestly say I’ve never been to a more rundown caravan park, I have never been more disgusted in a place before and I’m paying $120 per night.. for what…. 60s style cabin, curtains are torn, door handle to bedroom falls off, lights don’t work, curtain rods fall off, couch is beyond repair. Not enough hot water for a shower.. the floors are filthy, It’s extremely dissapointing as we were so excited for this weekend. Staying at home would have been a better holiday!!! I have an infant and it feels like we are accomodating her at the local dumpster! If we had brought our tent we would have been better off.. then I read on the kitchen wall, that if the cabin isn’t left “clean” they will charge and extra $50 cleaning fee.. seriously??? I should be getting paid the $50 to clean the place when we got here.. the camp kitchen.. bbqs kept on turning off, making it hard to cook your dinner. The toilets had no hand wash or sanitiser… the poorest accommodation we have ever stayed in.. steer clear!!

Weirdest caravan park experience ever. Really small, hard to get a caravan in, reception is across the road tacked onto a house. Older lady at reception was annoyed that we had booked in with a 22ft caravan...like 4 months ago! She's in the wrong job. Felt unsafe as anyone could walk in like the junkie next door, and she did a number of times. No lock on the outer toilet/shower room either. Speaking with the other travellers we met there, they brought up the same issues and all of us stayed there because the blue lake park had a minimum of 3 night.
I can't recommend this caravan park. It is old, tired and unsafe

Tired and on the way home to Victoria, after 3weeks away up across ..SA.. from the eyer to Keith, wonderful park's with our 🐕 ... but here at this? caravan park was a shocker.. anyone who has a dog, gets into what can only be described as a carpark with grass NOT Allowed into the real park ACROSS the road ..in between shopping centers noise is horrible...and charged $36.. give this place a big miss 😳

From the first phone call, Joy & ALL the staff were very helpful and obliging. The cabins were spotless with everything we needed. All appliances worked. The camp kitchen opposite was the cleanest we have seen in our travels. Could not fault this little park and so central.
Office is on other side of the road but signage is excellent.

I booked a two bedroom unit one with a double bed and the second a double bed bunk. We got 3 single bunks instead in a room the size of a cupboard.
All beds are uncomfortable.

The divan/lounge was terrible and I sank into it as I sat trying to watch the ABC. The ABC are the only channels available on the TV.

I was expecting much better, this is very disappointing.

I was offered a refund, but I feel I was scammed as I’d booked the day before over the phone and was very clear on what I was booking and paying for …..

this isn’t the unit I booked.

This is the worst caravan park I have ever been to. We were stuck in a corner that faced a brick wall and a building site! We were booked in for a week but only stayed nights. All we wanted to do was go home. The lady in the office was pleasant and helpful but never offered us a refund. Give this one a miss!

booked a cabin at this park, we didnt get the one that was described to me. It was small, filthy and damp. The tv wasnt working, the owner came to see what 'weve done to it' and tutted and sighed through an hour or so trying to 'fix it' which he couldnt fix, came back the next day to show us it had burnt out, hello not our fault? The cabin was entirely damp, towels, bedding, floor, even loo paper, damp. The bunks had thin slats which could be felt by the sleepers. The pillows were ROCKS, omg just about broke our necks. And finally, the couch in the cabin, looked like they picked it up off the side of the road from someones discarded hard rubbish. We wont be staying here again and we certainly wouldnt reccommend it. Not kid friendly at all either, the playground was rusty and unloved. Minus 5 stars
