Detailed Reviews
We stayed here recently to visit family for 3 days and I wouldn't stay again. Didn't have our roomed cleaned 2 out of the three days and when my partner asked wheather we could have some towels and our roomed cleaned she said I can't do miracles I'm the only one here..well love if you can't handle the heat get out or get help. Change your attitude we are paying your wage..and your lucky you have a job..as for going to the toilet, you can't close the door when you are sitting so you are lucky I'm not shy. Take a nice soak in the spa it says and a swim in our pool, if we dived in we would crack our head open..no water..it's advertised as open so change it to closed..a lot of land but nothing to pretty about it sorry. Tennis court looks sad,pot holes everywhere, one chair to sit on and no light near our door. Very poor stay and wouldn't stay again..there's a lot nicer places to stay.

Good value, spacious clean room, comfortable bed.
BUT nobody goes there.
I'm sure the owners would love to improve their cash flow so they could do some improvements but it must be hard to see such a huge motel sitting almost empty.
Definitely needs some support .

We stayed here December 2011 and only paid $69 a night, we soon realised the pool was being repaired and unusable. The rooms appear a little old but are a good size, clean and quite comfortable. For what we paid we were quite happy and for a budget traveller who wants something basic to sleep in, would recommend and have no issues staying here again myself for that price!

Don't waste your money. They use bore water which you can't drink (they give you 1 bottle of water a day) as it's untreated which technically means you are not allowed to shower or bathe in it either, so couldn't shower for a couple days. The tennis court was mouldy to the point the net is yellow. Toilet is extra small you can't shut the door unless you are a the size of a stickstick. No where to cook as you can't cook in bedrooms unless you wanna pay $50 to use BBQ (Not a Depoist) NO quilt covers everything was dusty... place is very outdated.

If you are a person who values great service over flash glitz and glamour, then come and stay at the international.
From the moment we arrived, we were asked "what we needed and if we were comfortable".
We were also asked if we wanted fresh coffee in the morning instead of the condiments in the room.
The next morning we surfaced and were brought fresh coffee to our room.
Service with a smile. It is hard to find honest and genuine caring managers and staff but you get it here.
You don't have to ask, as it is offered here, before you even think of it.
Let's be honest about the Motel.
It is a bit old and tired but it is clean and spacious.
The rooms are being upgraded at the moment and if you, like I said before, want a happy caring experience, then stay here.
The staff are so nice I will be telling everyone to stay here.

Firstly, I paid through booking.com for an overnight stay for my parents travelling from Melbourne to Adelaide but when they arrived the manager refused to allow them to stay until they paid again. His attitude was threatening and unfriendly to them and at 80 years old they were extremely upset. The attitude of the manager has continued towards myself in my attempts to recover the extra payment.
Secondly, if I had known the place was so old and run down I would not have booked it. Half the power points were broken and even had black texta writing on the wall saying so. The walls were paper thin and the all night party that went to 3am could not be quietened despite numerous complaints to the manager.
The advertisement for this property is completely misleading and a fraud. I have told anyone I know who may be thinking of stopping at Mount Gambier to "keep driving". I also blame booking.com for listing this property in the light it does AND the complete lack of assistance in recovering the extra payment.
A truely horrendous experience with both parties.

Booked this hotel because it advertised a heated indoor pool, sauna, spa and free wi-fi. The pool is indoors but not heated. Sauna is being used as a maintenance department storage area. Couldn't even find the spa. The free in-room wi-fi is excruciatingly slow to the point that it is totally useless. Hotel is in an area that has very poor 4G coverage so one is screwed either way. The room was not clean nor comfortable. Single beds were one-sided so my kids fell off during the night. The bar and restaurant was not even open nor did it open any night whilst we were there. Went to buy a coffee and was told the espresso machine had not be operated in a year. What? Coffee machine just for the sake of saying they had one? Says it all, doesn't it. The ONLY good part of this hotel was the manager, Sean. He was absolutely brilliant. Changed our room to provide better beds. Gave us a lot of tips on where to go and what to see. Pity he has been given a dump of a hotel to manage. The photos on Expedia (and other online booking websites) are misleading and should be taken down. In fact, I would venture to say this hotel chain (and I do point a finger at the owners) are engaged in false advertising and may well be in breach of the Australia Fair Trade Act.

Surprising quiet motel on a main road, thanks for giving us a room out the back. Clean economical motel. A toaster would have been appreciated, as is usual in most other motels. Overall highly reccommended....
