Cheap and cheerful, the motel is located in the centre of town and is only 5-10mins walk to the heart of Mt Gambier. The room is very spacious, clean and comfortable. If you are looking for luxury, look again, but if you are just looking for a place to rest after a day exploring and don't mind retro vibes and furnishings, this is for you.

The room is very clean and the showers are so good better than home. In a good position to the shops and restaurants , we would stay again. Walking distance to city, supermarkets etc. Staff are very friendly and welcoming I would not hesitate recommending this motel to my friends and family

Location is excellent, close to supermarket, main street restaurants and a walking track along the disused railway line. It’s also a pleasant stroll to the Blue Lake, along a gently sloping street lined with delightful houses.
We were very comfortable; the unit was very clean and had everything we need in a motel. The bed suited us well, the bedroom curtains blocked the light. The two-seater couch was soft and we heard no noise from the street or other guests. We would return.

Travelling in Covid19 period after intrastate restriction had been lifted. Booked the Mid City Motel as it was fairly central in Mt Gambier and enabled us to easily access where we wanted to go. Andrew was friendly as we checked in in the small office next to the entrance to the property.

The room was a reasonable size with a queen bed, a 2 seater lounge and the usual motel room accessories. One glaring omission was no microwave. A workspace also doubles as a table. Being on Mt Gambier can be cold and this time was no exception. The aircon was ok but was not the easiest to use and with absence of instructional information, it was trial and error method of operating. Bathroom was medium in size with a slow hot water supply. The floor of the shower tended to be slippery and care needed to be taken.

The bedding was acceptable but not what I would call extremely comfortable.

No overnight noise was experienced. The open designated asphalt car park was right at the motel door.

Mid City is basically a no frills motel in a good location with a major shopping centre and other cafes etc nearby.

Return? Next time would probably look for something that is not quite so basic.

Well located and simply furnished, this motel represents good value in Mount Gambier. You can spend more in this town and get a pretty similar motel experience which makes this motel quite a good choice. We stayed in the family apartment which had two rooms. Room also had split system air-conditioner, small two-person couch and a small table with two chairs. It also had a small fridge but no microwave. Dining options and shopping is all within easy walking distance.

Unfortunately I found this motel very lacking. The room has not been refurbished, the carpet tired and smelly. Everything in the room was dusty, the curtain in bathroom ripped apart. Not enough time has been spent on the basics. Even though old, it still could be scrubbed and cleaned more thoroughly. The walls are very thin and you can hear the doors closing loudly on the adjoining rooms.

Excellent location to main street, copious eateries, supermarkets and pubs. Room large with kitchen facilities, large fridge, microwave etc. The room and bathroom were both very clean. Carpet needs replacing, curtain at sink had tears in it - work is needed to bring up to scratch. There was noise from adjoining room, but it is an older motel, so this is a common issues with motels of this age. Regardless of my negative comments, it really is value for money. We would stay here again, hopefully with new carpet on the floor.

Booked the queen room with kitchen. Found the room to be a great size with queen bed, single bed, 2 seater sofa, dining table and chairs and a small kitchen area with a bar fridge, microwave, sink and a portable double electric hotplates. A great addition to be able to cook some of our meals while away. Good size bathroom but a downside to the room was the toilet was too close to the wall of the shower which made it very difficult to sit on (we are on the taller side). Rooms are on the older side but are still great value for money.
Being in town was a bonus as this made walking to the shops etc very easy. Would happily stay again.

Stayed in a room to cater for 4 adults. Main room was a standard motel room with an addition room at the back containing 2 single beds. Room was dated, but clean and comfy.
Downside was having to fill the jug with water from the bathroom sink, right next to the loo.

Checked in to this little motel with my daughter. We were in town for the speedway.
Room was spacious and clean. Bar fridge was stocked (prices reasonable). Good air conditioning to cool us down on a 40+ degree day. Bathroom was very clean, shower was great.
The fella who checked us in and out, was very friendly. Good central location.
Only one small room for improvement, the bed was a little hard.
I’d stay here again.
