We stayed 3 nights at the Oaks Pier Plaza. Glenelg is a beach town and has a great boardwalk along the beach. The hotel is on that boardwalk. The hotel has a few nice places to eat and it is only 3-4 blocks to many different restaurants and bars. There is also a nearby grocery store. The rooms are nice sized and offer a small kitchen that includes an all in one washer/dryer. No one in my group could get the washer/dryer to work properly even after having the staff explain it to us. Our clothes came out damp. The hotel has an indoor pool and small fitness center.

Dear mgdevine, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us, we do appreciate your feedback! It is great to hear that your enjoyed our hotels location on the Glenelg foreshore we are centrally located near many restaurants, local stores & outlets as well as public transport. Especially when you can walk along the boardwalk to many of the local fare and being by the beach makes for a nice day out. We are however disappointed to hear that you were not able to use the washer/ dryer in the room. We do understand that even with instructions the machines can be difficult to use if you haven't had to use this type of machine before. Our staff on reception are available 24 hours for assistance to troubleshoot with you and we do offer clothes racks on request if need be or if this not suitable our staff do offer other options to dry your clothes on your behalf until we can have our maintenance team look into the issue. We will certainly your feedback on to our management team to assess the issue and action the matter accordingly. We do hope this does not deter you from staying with us in future as we would like welcome you back to Oaks Plaza Pier again.

The location was great. It was right on the beach, we could walk around easily to the main strip Jetty Road in Glenelg and the beach pier was very close. The room was an apartment style room, which had a small kitchenette, washing machine (was very useful), bathroom, bedroom, lounge and balcony.
I paid $802 for two nights in an ocean view room with parking no breakfast and was disappointed with the views from my balcony/room. My room was set back behind a large platform opening and it really obstructed the views from my balcony to the beach and ocean. I think this is deceiving of the hotel to charge per an ocean view room when the views are clearly obstructed. The reason why I upgraded to an ocean view room was to be able to sit and enjoy the views from my balcony which I couldn't do. I asked the staff if there was any other rooms available with the ocean views and they said the hotel was full. Disappointed for the price I paid and the views not being what I expected per the photos. I think they shouldn't charge this as an ocean view room and let there customers know what kind of view they would be getting from this room.

normally we stay at the Stamford Grand in September but due to COVID, they are closed so we moved our planned stay over to the Oaks Pier Plaza. The costing is a little more but the room is soooo much better! We stayed in a 1 bedroom ocean view apartment with balcony. The balcony is huge! It also has it's own table and 4 chairs already there for you to relax on (no moving furniture from inside to outside). The room is actually 2, 1 bedroom plus a lounge/dining/ kitchen area. As an apartment it's a fully kitchen, oven, microwave, hot plates, dishwasher and washing machine with a small but full fridge. Pots, pans, plates, mugs and glasses all ready to go. The space was great with a kitchen bench (Daz is thinking about making pasta next time we go lol) plus a table and chairs and a 2 seat couch, 2 arm chairs and coffee table. TV in both rooms. The bedroom isn't huge but it's big enough especially as you have the extra space elsewhere. The bathroom is huge, bathtub with spa jets plus separate shower, lots of storage space. And the shower had good pressure, a decent sized shelf to put things on and was quite roomy. To say we were impressed is an understatement. Parking is easy, book in advance, internal lift to get you down there with your luggage on checkout. The staff were lovely, very friendly, not impatient or rushed and very professional. And the windows are double glazed so minimal outside noise plus you have a fly screen on door to balcony so can sit with the door open and have the sea air come in without flies and mosquitoes.

The room was clean so this feedback has nothing to do with the cleaners. The view was nice and the staff were friendly. However we would not recommend to others for the following reasons. The Room needs a serious renovation. Tap ware is old and outdated, toilet seat is so old it has scaly bits that scrape your legs when sitting on it, the bottom of the doors are worn out and discussing. A shower in a bath is dangerous and seriously yesterday’s world. Water goes all over the floor making a slippery and dangerous mess. The ceiling has blue gum on it and the whole apartment needs a paint. Balustrade is dirty and needs a clean (dirt is on the inside not the outside so it shouldn’t be an issue to clean). I am not one to complain and I won’t write negative reviews. I just want you to honestly hear what your customers are thinking. We feel this was not value for money.

A quick, fun business trip to SA included needed having to stay in Glenelg for location to the day of business. With arriving quite late with a daughter who is suffering morning sickness (all day), the staff here made the transition from plane to a bed as slick as possible. The one bedroom apartment was extremely clean, comfortable and affordable. We will recommend your apartments to anyone else staying in that location - thank you!

What a fabulous hotel this is, everything about our stay was perfect. We booked a one bedroom room apartment and were accommodated on the 4th floor with views of the marina, beach and Colley reserve. The apartment was immaculate, very spacious and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable with high quality bedding. Our room rate was amazing, hotels around the world have seen a huge down turn in trade due to Covid-19 and have been forced to heavily discount rooms. What really impressed us was the fact they have not dropped their quality of service. Everyone we interacted with at the hotel were incredibly helpful and friendly and we were very pleasantly surprised after a day out to find that our apartment had received a full housekeeping service by Saroja, it was immaculate on our return. Front of house were very friendly and efficient and were happy to answer any questions and provide pool and gym passes. Highly recommend!!

We booked a mini staycation having heard good things about the hotel. Unfortunately I think we were given one of the worst rooms in the place. First floor facing another building that was extremely close and blocked out most natural light. Consequently the room felt dark and dingy. We had no desire to be in the room. The furniture looked tired and even the balcony was not inviting and needing repair.
It was nice that laundry detergent and dishwasher soap was provided- very helpful.
Staff generally seemed begrudging of guests (other than cleaner, who was lovely and went above and beyond to help us).
The pool area was nice but also had no windows or atmosphere.
I’m sure if you had a room with a view (or even a bit of natural light) it would be a different experience but given the price-point I doubt I’d return to try find out.

Stayed over the June long weekend during covid-19 restrictions. hotel was booked out, very busy. staff unwelcoming, felt like we were an inconvenience at their hotel. Felt we were being constantly monitored, especially with restrictions around pool use (only 10 people at a time permitted, but yet unlimited numbers allowed in lifts). Spa and sauna closed and this information was not provided to us before or at check-in. No small gesture made to compensate us for the fact we could not use full (paid for) facilities. Restaurant staff very unwelcoming and dismissive, basically had to jump on top of them to get their attention, let alone any service. Were not informed about room service, or offered any assistance in this area, which would have been helpful given eating at the restaurant was not possible most of the time due to it being booked out. Were hounded to get pool pass key back if it was one minute late (you were allowed one hour), staff did not offer to come to our room to get it if we were busy getting kids changed after the pool, instead we had to take it back down to reception every time- not what I pay over $300 per nigh to do. Oven did not work. Wifi useless.

Unfortunately, yes, there is a restriction on the number of people allowed in the pool area at this time due to Covid-19. This is across the state and we have put this measure in place to keep our guests safe and to comply with social distancing. There is a one hour limit to ensure that everybody gets the opportunity to use the pool during their stay. Guests are required to come to our front desk to sign in and out each time the collect a pool key. Over the long weekend we were busy with families and experienced a higher than usual demand for the pool area so we did apply a time limit to each use. The restaurant you are referring too is not one that we manage. It is located within our shared building so we will be sure to pass on your feed back to them. Well, you are right on the beach in an air conditioned 4 bed, 2 bathroom apartment with dish washer & washing machine, amazing cooked breakfast, balcony with beach & marine views....and guess what... there was not a grain of sand in the reception area or lift!! It was an amazing stay and every bit as good as a 4 or even 5 star hotel. We can't fault it and busy saving up for visit number 2 in 2022! We had a beach & marina view apartment on 7th floor and could see the beach & ocean from our beds. We woke to the sound of the waves & the sun rise, with beds made, towels changed, tea making topped up daily. Glenelg was a fabulous area to stay and we would highly recommend this accommodation. Great for families.

Yes but it’s districting and a fire hazard smoking on balcony the smoke rises to other rooms and people drop buts on rooms below oaks what r u doing most other buildings have no smoking allowed on site site just one cigarette butt could demolish building and hit will be your responsibility
