This “Motor Inn” was very well advertised on bookings.com and even on their own website, boasting an in ground pool “accessible” to all patrons, reception staff willing to help in the “staffed reception area from 9am-8pm”.....all of this information was “FALSE ADVERTISING”....we had MULTIPLE communications with staff via email and phone call prior to check in and NOT ONCE were we told that the pool was being renovated and the part about “reception staffed hours” was also FALSE as there was NO reception area and the staff were managing the facility remotely. We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment for 3 nights. Outdated interior, musty odour upon entry possibly from previous guests who smoked in the rooms, but the senses adjusted after day 1. Information about guest stays in the room stated “daily towel changes” and followed the instructions to leave in shower for cleaners, so presumably we thought this would happen...IT DID NOT! We ran out of toilet paper (family of 6) and rubbish bags (only one supplied lined the bin in the kitchen) on our second day and had to CALL AND TXT the manager who eventually replied saying “ Hi sorry we do not do daily services, at the end of your stay we ask that they be put in the shower. We also do not have a reception area, we are not a motel I’m sorry. I will get someone tomorrow to replace your towels Thanks” ....obviously this txt did not talk about toilet paper so we had to get our own supply. I sent the manager multiple photos as proof of the false advertising and I got a txt back saying “I’m so sorry, we don’t have that area anymore, it should have been taken off the booking.com as we had requested, it has had many changes at the Taft & I am new & trying to sort things out I do apologise again”....when I informed her the information and photos were from their direct website she stated “ What they definitely shouldn’t be on there, I have asked they be removed too, obviously still I need to get changed that hasn’t been done”....I asked for the owners contact details and was not given a reply. Needless to say we were extremely disappointed with the service. Positives about staying at the Taft would be location and that’s about it. If you plan to stay BYO toilet paper, rubbish bags and towels as it is NOT a “motel” as stated by the manager.…
Stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment and was really happy with everything. Room was neat and clean and very close to Glenelg foreshore and shops. 5 minutes walk and your in the main st. Very quiet during the night. Great place to stay and at a reasonable price
I thought this was great value and also an awesome location only 200 meters from Main Street of glenelg, the rooms were clean and more spacious than the one I stayed in the previous night which was almost 3 times the price
The motel room was clean and tidy although a bit dated. The location was great and within walking distance to Moseley Square and Glenelg beach. I was on the first floor, which was fine with me, but could cause some concerns for people with mobility issues. I noticed people smoking outside their rooms, which did waft into my window.
Faultless from time of booking to departure, when we rang to book one of the rooms had not been taken off as booked, lovely lady offered us an alternative at the same price. 10 out of 10 for cleanliness and presentation great location very little traffic noise. Highly recommend
