Detailed Reviews
Stayed five nights in this beautifully restored, pet friendly 2 bedroom period cottage which was within reasonable walking distance to the CBD and parks, but also on the bus route. Quite a few little welcoming touches were much appreciated. A delightful little cottage garden with seating nooks backed into a large park just around the corner. Towels were even provided for wiping grubby paws. Very comfortable large bed with crisp sheets, towels were big and fluffy, the full sized fridge and gas stove were very handy in the kitchen and there were heaps of DVDs from which to choose if you didn’t want to watch what the Smart TV offered. Plenty of room, with separate dining room (with wood heater) and comfy lounge room. Would like to return, perhaps for the next Carnival of Flowers, would highly recommend.

My wife and I spent 3 comfortable nights at Banksia Cottage in Toowoomba while we visited the city's parks and gardens and other displays. The cottage, built in 1898, has been well restored and is set in beautiful gardens. It is very spacious and very comfortable and has all the facilities you could want for a self catering short break or longer stay. The verandah is great for morning coffee or an evening drink. Lots of nice touches throughout the cottage. Off street parking in a carport is welcome.

Booked this accommodation before Covid 19, Ange (the owner) was so helpful in every aspect of dealing with our booking and the uncertianty of these times. Are instruction for entry were thourough which made it all go smoothly. What a delightlful cottage, immaculate in it's presentation. The added extra complimentary little extras - biscuits, beer & champagne and even lemons & herbs from the garden. Everything has been thought of for your stay. The gardens are beautiful. 10 minute stroll to centre town. Loved the Vinyl record player.

It is evident from the very high standard of presentation, amenities, and "personal touch" inclusions, that the hosts are passionate about providing an exceptionally unique and enjoyable stay for their guests.
The Cottage and it's glorious garden, exude a very positive and relaxing energy, enveloping one by its charm and tranquility.
The "fur" members of our family (two Chihuahuas) were equally well catered for, and enjoyed exploring all the nooks and crannies of such a safe, secure and private garden.
Congratulations on exceeding all our expectations and making us feel so pampered and special. We will definitely be returning to stay at this rare gem.

We had our first wedding anniversary in Banksia Cottage. The owners have thought of everything and it felt like stepping back in time to a place where the world was perfect. This is so well kept and clean. It is pet friendly for pet lovers. So close to everything and easy access to all the amazing parks and gardens. In all our years of travel ( now in our early 70's) we have never found a place that was so well catered for. We look forward to our next visit. Many thanks Ange & Jeff

Banksia cottage is the most beautiful heritage haven that has everything you need for a relaxing break. Lots of really special touches that show how much Ange and Jeff care about making your visit a memorable one - just read the guest book when you get there and check out all of the glowing reports! We particularly loved that we could have our dog with us and that it was cool enough to light the fire. Wonderful hosts!

+1
The delightful Banksia Cottage feels very private amongst the pretty garden plants and hanging baskets. The owners clearly love their gorgeous cottage and have thought of everything you might need for your stay. We especially appreciated the numerous special touches including records, record player, the welcome blackboard with our names on it and the bottle of buubly in the fridge for us!
Our dog kept wagging her tail and felt right at home. She loved that she was allowed inside and explored outside where she enjoyed lying in the sun on the grass or sitting with us on the front verandah or back patio where we had most of our meals. It's close enough to walk to the best parks, dog friendly cafes, shops and Cobb + Co Museum, but far enough away to feel secluded and private.

We loved our Easter visit to Banksia Cottage. It was a lovely place to spend a few days...including some time in front of the fire on a cool and wet weekend! The home had everything we needed, and the garden is beautiful. The location is great - we walked into the centre of town a few times, and there are some great streets to explore nearby. Our dog enjoyed every minute too...she felt right at home! Our hosts Ange & Jeff were easy to deal with and always responsive. We'd happily visit again, and would certainly recommend Banksia Cottage.

Banksia Cottage is a delightful place to base yourself whilst in Toowoomba. It has so much charm & character, & brings back memories of visits to homes of our Grandparents.
You'll feel like you're sleeping on fluffy clouds in the oh-so-comfy beds.
The cottage is stocked with everything you need, & the special little touches from the host are beautifully presented.
The only reason I haven't given a 5 star rating, is due to the extra money charged for bringing your dog to this pet friendly cottage.

Within an hour of arriving for my first visit to Banksia Cottage I was online looking for availability over the Christmas/NY period. It was love at first sight for me. Banksia Cottage is outstanding in every aspect. Cleanliness throughout the home and the gardens was very impressive. The gardens are pure delight with several spaces to sit with a coffee or wine while my dog played with the kong and relaxed on the lawn. Safety is well attended to. The home is very comfortable, fully fitted out with delightful treats, gorgeous furniture. I'm looking forward to my 3rd visit during the colder months so that we can also enjoy the fireplace. Highly recommended. Don't hesitate to book this beautiful property for your next getaway to Toowoomba.
