Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Banksia Cottage is a delightful place to base yourself whilst in Toowoomba. It has so much charm & character, & brings back memories of visits to homes of our Grandparents. You'll feel like you're sleeping on fluffy clouds in the oh-so-comfy beds. The cottage is stocked with everything you need, & the special little touches from the host are beautifully presented. The only reason I haven't given a 5 star rating, is due to the extra money charged for bringing your dog to this pet friendly cottage.

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful cottage. It was a perfect location with stunning g cottage gardens. We were instantly relaxed and the little touches made us and our fur babies feel at home. We will definitely be back.

We had the pleasure of spending a long weekend at the beautiful Banksia Cottage. The accommodation is well positioned and central to great restaurants, close to the Botanic Gardens, a gorgeous patisserie, the Farmers Markets and only a short drive to a beautiful winery and other attractions. The owners were excellent in their communication and arrangements and even accommodated our request to check in slightly earlier. We had originally booked this pet friendly accommodation and planned on bringing our dog along, but sadly she passed away a few weeks before our stay. There is a dog kennel, dog leads, a beautiful park nearby, dog treats are supplied and the piece de résistance was the VIP board of Polaroids of previous canine guests. This warmed our heart so much! But back to the cottage… I don’t want to spoil the surprises for new guests, but so many little gifts and gestures for the guests - all personalised with a handwritten note from the owners. It put a real smile on our faces. The linen is beautiful! Layers of white fluffiness with accents of colour and texture… and electric blankets for cool Toowoomba nights. A crackling fireplace in the lounge-dining room area and plenty of chopped wood and clear instructions - very easy to use and this feature definitely adds to the atmosphere of the home. Loved the old telephone and the record player - plus all those records! A true celebration of a bygone era and such a quirky and fun addition to the home. For all of these reasons we chose to spend our evenings at the cottage rather than going out. The kitchen is fully equipped and has the most beautiful view of the well kept beautiful garden, with some lemons and herbs in the kitchen for our home cooking. I cannot recommend this gem highly enough. Paging through the guest book, we weren’t alone in our assessment of this beautiful home and the lovely owners. We hope to be back very soon!

If you’re looking for a break where all the details are taken care of, and including for your pooches - Banksia is it! Ange & Jeff, take care of everything. The house was immaculate and their attention to detail is just WOW. We arrived to find even the dog bowls were ready with fresh water. Firewood chopped. Fresh herbs and lemons in the kitchen for our use. Tim Tams to enjoy with a choice of coffee and let’s not forget the dog biscuits. Beds are super comfy and all linens crisp and clean. Access to Wifi, Netflix (TV’s in the lounge and both bedrooms). Great shower pressure. Our favourite was drinks on the porch. So pack your clothes, add food and drinks, and book your stay. An awesome place to unwind and chillax…

Within an hour of arriving for my first visit to Banksia Cottage I was online looking for availability over the Christmas/NY period. It was love at first sight for me. Banksia Cottage is outstanding in every aspect. Cleanliness throughout the home and the gardens was very impressive. The gardens are pure delight with several spaces to sit with a coffee or wine while my dog played with the kong and relaxed on the lawn. Safety is well attended to. The home is very comfortable, fully fitted out with delightful treats, gorgeous furniture. I'm looking forward to my 3rd visit during the colder months so that we can also enjoy the fireplace. Highly recommended. Don't hesitate to book this beautiful property for your next getaway to Toowoomba.

It is evident from the very high standard of presentation, amenities, and "personal touch" inclusions, that the hosts are passionate about providing an exceptionally unique and enjoyable stay for their guests. The Cottage and it's glorious garden, exude a very positive and relaxing energy, enveloping one by its charm and tranquility. The "fur" members of our family (two Chihuahuas) were equally well catered for, and enjoyed exploring all the nooks and crannies of such a safe, secure and private garden. Congratulations on exceeding all our expectations and making us feel so pampered and special. We will definitely be returning to stay at this rare gem.

Stayed five nights in this beautifully restored, pet friendly 2 bedroom period cottage which was within reasonable walking distance to the CBD and parks, but also on the bus route. Quite a few little welcoming touches were much appreciated. A delightful little cottage garden with seating nooks backed into a large park just around the corner. Towels were even provided for wiping grubby paws. Very comfortable large bed with crisp sheets, towels were big and fluffy, the full sized fridge and gas stove were very handy in the kitchen and there were heaps of DVDs from which to choose if you didn’t want to watch what the Smart TV offered. Plenty of room, with separate dining room (with wood heater) and comfy lounge room. Would like to return, perhaps for the next Carnival of Flowers, would highly recommend.

Banksia Cottage is a little gem. The hosts have cleverly managed to incorporate the old and new in such a way as to retain the charm of the original cottage, while offering all the required comforts and modern touches. It is rare indeed to stay in a holiday home and not find that something or other is missing, be it decent wifi, a selection of bedding, kitchen foil or cooking utensils. Banksia had it all though, plus a few unexpected extras. Check-in was simple, as was check-out. Despite the evenings being chilly (winter) the heating was really good. The lovely woodburner was even made-up for us, ready to be lit. Much appreciated, and we will be back! :-)

A lovely cottage located just streets away from the heart of Toowoomba. The perfect distance away from the hustle and bustle but so close you can walk to Ruthven street. So many choices of shops , great cafe's and restaurant's. We couldn't have wanted for more from a house that feels like home. Not many places have very comfortable beds with electric blankets and luxurious sheets. My kind of accommodation. Not to mention a full kitchen with oven and gas cooktop and good hot water. I could go on and on but put simply , we will be back. Thanks Ange and Jeff for sharing your lovely home with us.
