Needed accommodation whilst partner was in hospital and came accross this gem located within an easy walk of the hospital. Ricky and his staff made us feel like members of their family. Any request was no trouble and they were so easy to talk with and made you feel you were their most important guest - have stayed twice and have another booking coming up shortly. Thanks Ricky and your offsider Peter for great treatment. Rooms are neat, clean and tidy - felt just like home.

If travelling to this beautiful Garden City of Toowoomba, 1-1/2 to 2 hours from Brisbane, try this spacious two-bedroom unit we stayed in recently for from two to six people. There are also 1-bedroom units and spa units. The kitchenette has a microwave, two-ring hotplates and fridge. We found the reverse cycle air conditioning helped to make our stay more comfortable. The Aster on James is 50 metres from Toowoomba General Hospital and a few minutes from the city centre. We experienced very friendly service, clean and comfortable units and no traffic noise as the units are set back from the road. Consequently, we were very happy with our choice.

A short visit to see friends in Toowoomba. I chose this spot because it was close to PCYC Markets on the Sunday morning. Surprisingly spacious room, well equipped including microwave and iron/ironing board. Sadly, right near Warrego Highway, but I managed a good nights sleep all the same. Cafes next door if you need them. I took a slow and pleasant stroll into city centre, about 18 minutes walk along the canal path. Also next door to hospital. Excellent value for money.

Manager is very rude and not caring. He abused my daughter while i was on the phone to her and made her cry on her 21st birthday all because her son didnt stay in the room one night and it was a government booking her sister did to keep her company. There was no toaster in the room and a hole in the wall and when my daughter wanted to check out the manager tuned off his phone and refused to answer the phone to her. I cant believe the extra cost in this room and no cleaning except when she paid an additional 40 dollars to bath her sick son and had a spa as she paid the 40 dollars and it was her birthday

Well the temperature was quite cool last wee in Toowoomba and my air con was pumped up to 29 but unfortunately the room was icy cold
The traffic noise all night has deterred me from staying here again I stayed three nights without sleep and froze.

I spent 3 nights here on business and was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room, which had a separate bedroom and bathroom. The kitchenette had 2 hotplates and enough equipment to cook a meal. While the living room was spacious, it had an extremely uncomfortable lounge which meant that I ended up sitting on a wooden chair in preference to it - not the most relaxing way to spend an evening.

The bed was very comfortable though and the bedroom well appointed. The shower had terrible water pressure and I struggled to get enough out of it to wash my hair properly.

I am left with mixed feelings about this place - I don't think I would stay here again but it's better than a standard motel room.

Response from Brian R, Owner at Asters on James Motor Inn
Responded 13 Jan 2015
This client stayed with us for 3 nights, but did not bring these problems to our attention. If she had done so, faults would have been rectified immediately, or room changed. About the dates of clients stay with us we renewed all couches in the motel, and taps and shower heads are currently being replaced. Current management has been in place since Sept 2013, since then rooms repainted new beds bedspreads linen, bedheads, 40" t.v., new lounges , new taps and shower heads. I apologise for these matters causing our clients discomfort, but wish she had of brought them to our attention at the time.

We stayed for one night only, and had not booked in advance. We had Room 11, with two separate bedrooms, a very spacious lounge room, and a kitchenette. Beds were very comfortable, bedrooms had block out blinds, plenty of hot water for four showers in a row, and enough equipment in the kitchenette to be able to cook a basic dinner of pasta. My only criticism was the price, which at $190 for the night was expensive, but we had a quiet and relaxing stay.

We stayed here for the night as we have stayed in most motels in Toowoomba and thought we would try it out. Management need to smile a little, too serious makes you feel uneasy when checking in, rooms are okay but a bathroom hand basin in the lounge room??? toaster n kettle but no cutlery. close to small shopping center was good very handy. Bathroom needs and up date badly for the price you pay. Whats with all the smokers congregated around a table out the front like a lot of lepars. N what was the white marks on the black pillows when turned over??Drool????? won't be staying again.

This is our four stay here and the absolutely the worst stay ever.Asked near-by quests to keep the noise down twice, at midnight and they told us to shut the f*** up they could make as much noise as they like. Just because you are young doesn't mean you have to be rude.

Two nights here for me while attending a funeral. Friendly place. Good sized rooms but dated - bed was ok. Lighting was poor. Interesting that they have a microwave and a toaster but no cutlery which made eating Menu log food a little interesting.
