No fire alarm! Alarming!
Had what we needed. Small fridge iced up. Toilet paper dispenser no longer in use. Toilet roll on the cistern. Why?
On the up side - the bed was comfy and king size. Towels and bedding clean.
There is a kettle and coffe/tea station and small fridge. The tv is on top of the wardrobe.
The stairwell had loose and broken tiles and looked like it needed a good clean.
The staff were very friendly.
room very old ,the bed saw better day so will never see me there any moor
only one think close to the centre of the town
We were battling to find a park so had to stay in the car park outside the hotel. The room was revolting. The electric blanket was on the bed but did not work. The room had a horrible musty smell. There was a fluoro light attached to the bed head and it flickered all the time. The air conditioner did not work. No bedside lamps or power points We noticed spots on the pillow slip and suspected it might be blood. It was all over the pillow. Made us feel sick. We arrived late afternoon and didn’t need a shower that day. The next afternoon we wanted a shower but there was no hot water at all. So had to wash in cold water. Nobody cared less and there was nobody available to rectify our complaints. The day we arrived we ordered lunch, ‘rissoles’ and veg. We couldn’t eat the rissoles. They had no taste and were made from sausage mince. The meat (if it was meat😩 tasted revolting and a whitish colour. We were ‘lucky’ to find the managers who denied it was sausage meat and told us she would speak to the chef and get back to us. Never saw them again. Lastly, the majority of rooms were occupied iby what appeared to be welfare recipients with mental health and drug addiction problems. We saw a drug deal happening in the car park. Occupants day and night were yelling out, banging on doors, swearing and was quite frightening.
Hope this helps unsuspecting future guests. Would prefer to rate this place -100 but can only rate from 1 upwards
We stayed overnight and the room was comfy, we are aware the renovations are in progress and we can't wait to see the results.
The owners are friendly down to earth people, disregard the Victorian yuppie reviews who always whine about not being as wonderful as Victoria and want something for nothing it's a good place.
A special mention to Leanne who was operating the bar. Great personality, and great service. You’re a credit to the hospitality industry.
