A funny little motel, not far from town, tucked away in some shopping centre. If you blinked you'd miss it. On Ruthven Street but come in off White street to the side. Built in maybe the 1970s, it has tall if smallish rooms but everything you need. The bathroom has been re-done and is clean, bright and with a lovely hot shower. Basic toiletries are provided and enough towels for all. Neighbour got a bit willing during the mid evening but that was sorted promptly by the don't mess with me lady manager. One thing that all proved is that soundproofing between the rooms is excellent. We stayed a night only, being on a driving holiday of the Downs and North NSW. It was convenient with really nice people running it and central location at a very low price. Double and single in a room for three for less than $138. Chinese restaurant up the road. All sorts of places deliver. The room has cups, cutlery and more so it's easy to have it delivered and a nice touch; a Tim Tam and bottle of cold water in the fridge gratis. We'd be happy to overnight there again. A longer stay would need a bigger room. They might have such a thing, maybe in the upstairs rooms. You'd have to ask. …

After driving all day and arriving in the heavy traffic of a strange town we couldn't believe our luck when we found this motel tucked away in the back of a shopping complex. It's quiet, well located, clean, and economical, with incredibly helpful staff for whom nothing is too much trouble - they even helped us find somewhere to stow our camper trailer. Strongly recommended.

We booked in last minute and chose this motel for its competetive pricing and dog friendly nature wich was rare to find and greatly appreciated. The reception staff were very accomadating and pleasant to deal with and very informative. The room was very clean, well presented and had more than the usual utilities we would expect from a motel! If you didnt seek a dog friendly motel, you would have never known this was one; In regards to the cleanliness of the rooms and lack of any evidence of animals staying. This motel is set on a main drag about 5 minutes from queens park and the resturants/ attractions of toowoomba and has easy access to plenty of parking. We couldnt hear any of our neighbours or any motor traffic throrought our stay and we stayed in the midst of the toowoomba flower carnival.…

Super clean, everything you need for a stop over night - we had 2 dogs with us and they were very accommodating. Netflix on the tv, aircon & under cover parking. Close to town and easy key drop box for those that need to leave early. Will keep in mind for future stop overs

After a long trip we stopped here for 2 nights and was pleasantly surprised by the rooms. Everything was excellent, great shower, comfortable beds & exceptionally clean. Will definitely stay here again as easy access to everything. Great restaurants & shops

I chose this motel for a quick overnight on a Queensland road trip as it received great reviews despite some earlier misgivings. Friendly welcome from the manager. A little bag of Easter Eggs and free mini bar stocked with soft drinks and nibbles which was a nice touch. The room was shabby and in need of a refurb. It was clean but the bed was uncomfortable. The bathroom was old and looked it's age. The toilet leaked and flooded the bathroom. The position is a bit awkward to find as it's surrounded by lifestyle/home shops, so not convenient for restaurants. Breakfast was included with the rate and was cooked to order but served to the room. The portion size was generous but the food was very greasy.

Nice and clean and comfortable beds!!!! not huge room for twin beds well double bed and king single) the shower nice and clean but not much room to be in and could do with more hanging rails in the shower space. but over all nice. if we didn't look at the place on the net I wouldn't find it driving around. Very nice thick towels also which is a +. And some free mini bar drinks Good location in Toowoomba A bit noise with people next door and the fridge keep making noises all during the night.

I was looking for something cheap and comfortable, so I got a last minute rate, the cheapest I could find with a good rating. The Downs Motel exceeded my expectations. From extra goodies provided in the fridge, to the really spacious shower - I’m sold. For this looking for a comfortable place to rest their head, I definitely recommend this motel. A nice, clean bathroom and those extra amenities that all motels should have (but thy never do) microwave, kettle, toaster and iron. It started heading up today, so I was released to be able to turn the aircon on, as I stepped in. I’ll be back!

i booked in after work from chinchilla for 2 nights fri the 26th june and 27th i was in room 5 i always stay here when i need to come to toowoomba this time not so good i checked in about 5 had a shower jims jams on and went to hop into bed to watch tv and chill i took my own quilt thinking i would be cold but there was heaps of short black hairs on the bed i mean alot i cant beleive housekeeping did not notice when they would have smoothed out the creases, also the light between shower and hand basin wasnt working i left a note for housekeeping on the sat to have it fixed when i got back late on sat it was not done so annoyed the bathroom is showing its age i am staying again in july as i have a few specialist apps if this has not improved i will take my custom and loyalty eleswhere…
