This may be the Outback, but you'll still have a river view. Set by the banks of the beautiful Leichhardt River, our holiday park Discovery Parks - Mount Isa is an excellent base to explore. If you've never experienced rodeo, you've come to the right place - Mount Isa is renowned as the Rodeo Capital of Australia and their annual event is fast and furious fun. For a well-rounded taste of this rugged mining country, head to Outback at Isa, don a headlamp and descend into a purpose-built mine, then visit the fascinating Riversleigh Fossil Centre. Kids will love Queensland's largest all abilities playground, Mount Isa Family Fun Park.

Detailed Reviews
Just needed a place to stay for the night. It was OK. It did look run down and did service the local miners. The Leichhardt River was a dried up bed and a long term resident did warn us of flash flooding. We left early the next day as it had served it's purpose.

This place is one of the highlights of Mount Isa. It is beautiful and fun. This is not in the busiest place in town but is in a place where you can access everything. It is beautiful and the people are amazing.

Thanks to other trip advisor reviews we chose this caravan park. We were able to choose our spot, we weren't looking for an ensuite site however we were allowed to park on one for the shade. After a few hours we decided we wanted the ensuite ... the parks toilets were quite a long trip in the 40 degree heat ! The ensuites, from the outside, looked very average... HOWEVER, I opened the door and was so happy to see nice clean white tiles and a glass shower recess, all very clean and tidy. The office staff were lovely. The pool was very welcoming ... it does need some repair around the edges where tiles/bricks have fallen off and the stairs were a bit wobbly, but seriously, it is kept clean and it is a 'cool' pool. It was $38.70 p/n with our membership discount for powered site with ensuite. I would definitely stay here again.

Property's Favourite Review
We stayed two nights while we were passing through to see one day of the rodeo. We had one of the ensuite sites that was clean and tidy. It was a pleasure to have normal hot water that you could adjust just like home. After a few weeks in the Nt most park facilities were like mobile units of low quality. It was a bit cold in Aug to use the pool. The rodeo concert was on one night with noisy customers coming back all hours of the night as expected. Not a bad park for us.

The unit was dirty. The fittings are less than poor. No dishwashing liquid, dirty frying pan, blinds were a disgrace. Paintwork patched poorly and tiles not finished. For$170/night. Woeful. They are very forthright about their demands and what they expect and yet what they provide is well below standard. We stayed in many of these $50 cheaper and they were excellent. This clearly was not what the photos depicted.

We stayed here in a cabin for 2 nights. It’s just out of town. It’s a big place with lots of options. The cabin was a good size, with a well equipped kitchenette. Everything was clean and in good order. It has a nice very quiet air conditioner, so doesn’t keep you awake.
There is a laundry with washer, dryer and also a clothes line.
The receptionist was wonderful. Happy, helpful and accommodating.

It might be barren and dry in the Aussie Outback, but the Park Manager Jody, sets the example of Customer service for the rest of the Industry to follow. Great job Jody. Keep up the good work. Park nicely situated on the riverside.

Clean ammenities. Not crowded. Good camp kitchen, grassy site BUT.. don’t take powered sites 1-4, permanent opposite who must be going deaf. TV on volume 11 and every phone call on speaker on max. Totally destroying our stay. First few hours great, next 2 days hopeless

I turned up late - with my dog - following a 12 hour drive, and Tina was so lovely: friendly and accommodating. Nothing was too hard for her. The park camp grounds are clean and neat, camp kitchen is clean with a friendly atmosphere. Everyone smiling and happy - just what this tired traveller needed! Would stay again next time I'm this way. Thank you Tina and team!

This is a great little Caravan Park. Shady sites with slabs. Large central amenities block & laundry. Camp kitchen &"magnesium" s pool (not heated !!).
Was quiet at night and close to everything in town . Perfect for our visit to Mt Isa !
No hesitation in recommending !
