We had an unexpected delightful overnight experience at this hotel.

The hotel is truely boutique with class and character. The decor is warm and inviting with the use of strong red and brown colours. The furniture is olde world, classic style which adds to the overall appeal.

Our room on the first floor was spacious, clean and well appointed. There is a good lift service to the first floor The bed and pillows were very comfortable .

We enjoyed drinks in the comfortable lounge room before dinner .

The service from reception and the bar was pleasant and attentive.

Overall, a memorable overnight stay. Recommended for a quality hotel experience in Mt Isa.

We were staying 4 nights at this hotel in a $200 plus room so I was disappointed that for this rate we had a bed that was small and had a collapsed mattress. It was not possible for 2 people sleeping on this bed. The other disappointing matter was a creaking bathroom door that was most annoying. This a advertised as a Boutique hotel so that’s what one expects when it comes to the comfort of rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant top class.

We stayed overnight on our way to Alice Springs & were so pleasantly delighted. The young girl at reception was so friendly & helpful. The bar team were fantastic cocktail mixers & also offered us a free dessert when one of our mains wasn't quite right. The room itself was really big & had one of the best spa baths I've seen in a hotel!! We experienced no noise from the hotel below nor had any negative experience. Would definitely stay again if we were passing through.

Don’t let the phrase ‘boutique hotel’ fool you here. I had one of the most unpleasant stays at the RedEarth recently and I would warn anyone in advance before staying here for future stays. The hotel is situated directly above the Isa Hotel and the noise levels are beyond a joke. There’s also a function room located directly underneath the rooms which holds events until midnight. The noise levels within the rooms is unacceptable for the prices charged

After 9pm there are no staff members working within the reception area so trying to address the issue is near impossible. The after hours duty managers were extremely unhelpful

The lift within the hotel was out of order so the only access to your room was up two flights of stairs. No assistance is offered with your bags so it’s up to you to lug your stuff. Not an easy task if you’re an older traveler

If the hotel is looking to be branded as ‘boutique‘ and charge accordingly there should be far better management or restrictions of noise levels after 9/10pm. It’s just unrealistic to charge what they do unless it was rebranded as just a stock standard motel above a pub. At least you’d know in advance what you were getting yourself in for

First time ever I have been staying in any caliber hotel that you’ve been on able to get a seat in the dining room for dinner, the only offer was to have a meal sat at the bar/pub.
They advertise themselves as luxury but this place is a relic of the 80s and it is supposed to be the best place in Mount Isa, if it is I would hate to be staying in one of those venues.
The decor is old-fashioned, it’s dusty, the shower is full of mold, the bed looks like it’s been in use for over 10 years, very low and saggy in the middle with a mattress topper which is not the same size as the bed and the linen doesn’t look like it’s been ironed so I’m not sure if it’s even cleaned.

On arrival I was advised the room I had been allocated (a Queen Deluxe) was unavailable due to a faulty door and I would instead be in a Queen single room with no window. I was staying 3 nights for work and advised I was not happy with this change. Within 20 minutes I got a call from reception saying the door was now fixed and my room was available to check in.
As is the experience with other reviewers, despite booking Red Earth, I actually got a room over The Isa Hotel. The room rates are the same, but from what I can tell, the Isa rooms are much older and poorly maintained compared to the Red Earth rooms. If you're basing your booking on the photos, be aware that you might end up in a room that does not look like this.

The room was pretty average - There was a large section of paint peeling from the ceiling, the windows were covered in grime, the carpet is visibly dirty, and... there were bed bugs.

Just stay somewhere else.

Large rooms, can be noisy facing the street on a Friday. Pleasant staff, easy nearby parking. Rooms a bit older but the Nespresso Coffee was a nice addition. We stayed twice over 10 days on a trip, so can't be that bad can it ! Would probably stay again.

I checked in yesterday as work had booked a room for me. There are two hotels side by side. The Isa hotel and the Red Earth boutique hotel. Reception manages both.
I have bursitis in my left hip and a ruptured gluteus minimus- the muscle used for walking.
I was booked into a room in the Isa hotel at the far end from the elevators which involved a long walk. The alternative was still a long walk but up 2 flights of stairs. I struggle do both.
I went back to reception to ask if there was a room on the ground floor or one near the elevator. Unfortunately they couldn't help.
About an hour later I got a call from reception saying if we could stay in the booked room last night they could give me a room tomorrow that was next to the elevator.
Next morning I got a call at about 8.45am to say my room was ready.
What they had given me was a beautiful luxury room with a balcony, queen size bed, sofa and a desk. A total change from the small dingy room I originally had.
I was so touched and pleased by the effort the girls went to to ensure my comfort. Not only giving me a room close to the elevator but such a beautiful room.
10 stars for the lovely girls at reception. I've never known any hotel staff go so far above and beyond for a customer.

Our room was good. The food service was slow to non existent. The meals were huge ans our group left half of some meals. Bar service was non existent unless meals were being served. The staff were sometimes friendly but very inexperienced.
