My friend and I stayed here for 4 nights. The room was clean and tidy, the beds comfortable. Nicely made up every day. The cups/crockery etc were disposable, but the "real stuff" was available at reception. Bit weird the handbasin/mirror was located outside the bathroom. We had room service breakfast on one of the days. Reasonable, tasty, the coffee (cappuccino) was actually rather good. The location was quite close to the main centre of town and easily walkable.
We were pleasantly surprised by this motel, it was very clean, comfortable bed and a double shower!!! I was in love!, No fighting over who was having first shower. We had a chat with our neighbours about the safety of our vehicle as they stayed there regularly. They told us to not leave anything in our car in sight as they had seen opportunist thieves trying car doors, even trying their room door, I know this happens in most towns but we had no problem in the 4 nights we stayed. My only problem was that I got cold at night and there were no extra blankets and on our last night one of our neighbours had a Pitt Bull Dog tied up to their car and it barked quite a bit, so not much sleep that night 😪 The lady in reception was so lovely, thank you so much Terri, we will definitely be back next time.…
Stayed 3 nights in a very comfortable, quiet room. Received excellent service from Manager ( Sue ) I think, who went above and beyond to ensure my stay was great one. Walking distance to shops and food. Definitely stay again . Thank you
We googled when we were 8 hrs away to make sure we'd have a bed when we finally arrived at Mt Isa. This motel came up. We weren't expecting to arrive until 2200, and the manager, a lovely lady named Sue, assured me that would be fine and she would wait up for us to arrive. True to her word, Sue was up to meet us. Such a lovely welcome after driving for so long. The room was prepared, the air con was on and delightfully cool. The room was fresh and clean, but best of all, the beds were superbly comfortable 😍 The next time we pass through the Isa we will definitely be staying here, plus, if you book direct the room rate is a few dollars cheaper. I only wish we'd arrived in time to enjoy some morsels off the menu, it sounds delicious, and Sue is also the qualified chef!
Very clean and tidy rooms (which have been recently upgraded) and very friendly and welcoming staff. Meal was superb as was the service. If we have to return via Mt Isa will stay here again. Away from the main drag is a bonus for a restful sleep.
The staff were wonderfully helpful with every need taken care of, especially understanding of long distance travellers. Our room was very comfortable bright and clean with all that we needed. The meal was delicious and plentiful. We will always return to this motel in the future., we thank them very much.
Rooms were large with comfortable beds, and everything very clean. Friendly and helpful staff, especially Kale who checked us in and looked after us for dinner. Evening meal was great with very large portion sizes! Rooms were quiet, but close to the centre of town so you could walk in. The entire property was clean, tidy, and well maintained. Would stay here again.
We were a group of 7 who booked 3 rooms. The main reason we chose this motel was because they offered a triple room. As others have mentioned, the rooms are basic, but very very clean and tidy. I guess you get a preconceived image of what a motel in the outback might be like, but this property was nothing like that image i conjured up. The entire property was clean, tidy, and well maintained. Everything in the room worked as it should, and even the shower had good pressure and was hot. Checking in/out was without a drama, and the lady at reception was very helpful by not only booking a taxi for us, but calling us to let us know it was confirmed. I have to make mention of the room cleaners too. They were really friendly and only too happy to have a chat as they went about their business. The motel is in a good spot too, as nothing is too far away. None of our group would have any hesitation in booking here again when next in Isa. All up, a solid 8/10.…
We have been using the Outback for a lot of staff accomodation in the area. It is substantially cheaper than some of the other motels in the area and tends to have better availability. The rooms are very clean. The rooms are older but well maintained and very tidy. We have also found the owners fantastic to deal with as a business for quite regular bookings. This is a great, basic motel and one of the best in the area. The only minor downside is that the walls are quite thin but it seems to be mostly workers staying here who are all quiet, respectful and go to bed at reasonable hours. I heard quite a bit when I was awake in the room earlier in the evening but certainly wasn't kept up at all when sleeping 10pm-6am.
Outback Motel Mt Isa Warm welcome from Kale & Andrew. Rooms large with comfortable beds. Good hot shower. Quiet rooms. Motel off the Main Street. Lots of Covid precautions in place including disposal cutlery, coffee mugs etc Great to see Environmentally friendly dispenser for soap, shampoo etc rather than the single use. Good internet connection. Pool area under a shade marquee & lovely cool breeze in the afternoon. Evening meal was delicious & generous portion. Lamb Shank & veg for one meal and rump steak with mushroom sauce (big jug of sauce), chips & salad.
