The hotel was directly across the road from the airport and catered mostly to workers . There was a local bus into town every hour except at 1pm, and car hire and parking .The room was small but good ; comfortable bed , space well designed, wall sockets for USB and regular plugs and a small desk, bed lights and a little fridge. No noise from airport . Bar and cafe were well staffed and the restaurant food was good. You could order a take away lunch. All staff were helpful and friendly. The air conditioning in the restaurant was cold and I didn’t like the extra fee for using a credit card. There was a luggage room which was very convenient. This place was excellent for a fast visit to Mackay.

The squid was a bit oily. The other food was amazing. And so were the drinks. I would definitely Come here every month if I could! But I do not have that kind of money. The rooms were nice too. Everything was pre set, beds made, and body lotion in the shower as well as soap, conditioner and shampoo. I love this place!

We stayed for a week while mixing a bit of business and pleasure and found it ideal for our needs. Despite being right at the Airport our room was fully soundproofed with no Jet noise. Our Car Rental was there too so all easy to pick up and drop off. The room was not big but adequate. Only downside was almost a total lack of cupboards and drawers and tiny hanging space to put our clothes in. Very small shower could be an issue for some. There is a nice Bar and Outdoor Casual area and the Restaurant has a nice variety of food. Reception was easy and staff very friendly on both arrival and departure. Being only a short drive to a couple of local Social Clubs and City Center was great. Would definately stay there again.

Once we found the place room was clean was well appointed no noise from the airport - A bit worried to see that it was being used as a quarantine hotel but they were on a lower floor. Shower was very small to use it was front on or back could not stand to the side. Paying for parking was a mess dont understand this this is one thing you do need to fix when ticket was validated would not lift boom gates when I went and got staff to fix advised it happens all the time

Accommodation was good, food not so much! If using a breakfast deal for buffet you should not be charged extra for orange juice or hot drink even if it was a la carte. Understand a limited menu right now but one night 2 items off a limited menu were unavailable. If we had known we would have eaten out.

There are some big advantages the ibis has. They are literally right at the airport - close as the carpark. Its seven stories, so you get a view from the upper floor rooms.
The staff were all courteous and friendly, and the meals and drinks at the 'Turbarlence' restaurant and bar were all nice. Not fine dining but you don't come to an ibis for that.
The hotel was spotlessly clean, and I think fairly new, nothing looked tired, everything worked. A clock radio that flashed the wrong time at me, and which had no apparent way to set the time.
The only downside was basic rooms and value for money. There is a desk, an office type chair, a bed, and an impractical bench that was not big on comfort.
Small was the order of the day, small room, tiny shower cubicle, tiny wardrobe. The room price however was not small, and you could get a considerably bigger room for the same price or a good deal less at any number of motels on Nebo Road or in town. So not good value.
It's a really handy option if you're flying in or out, and if you're driving you probably wouldn't be here anyway.

Disappointing experience overall due to a number of things. Firstly it was our first hotel trip after restrictions being fully lifted so missing things like a buffet was already a reality check that old times are gone. Specifically, breakfast was not served until 7:30 which meant we had to eat outside on the first day even though breakfast was included as a platinum member. On 2nd morning we ate in and while the breakfast we ordered was delicious, I had to negotiate to have the coffees included as part of the “free” breakfast. Lastly, dinner was not quite 50% off as Accor Plus discount was “not working properly” on the system so the attendant just entered in one meal instead. Basically the service could have been better and not having any housekeeping on duty is fine but at least let customers know in advance.

I have stayed at this hotel many times and enjoyed it, but this time I was disappointed. Rooms are as usual small, but proximity to airport (30 metres) is great and overcomes a lot of issues. Not so much this trip. The menu had been severely shortened and food was not up to usual standards. Layout in casual dining section was not as good as it used to be and breakfast were just passable. I need to seriously consider if I will stay at this property for future trips to Mackay9

Stayed at the Ibis at Mackay airport for a recent 3 day Athletics competition. No complaints at all. Very clean, all the facilities in great condition and the staff were excellent. Such a convenient location for the aquatic and sport centre and very cheap for the standard of accommodation. Usually stay at one of the Quests in town due to location but would make the drive and stay here as it is cleaner and more modern.

Short Qantas flight to Mackay Airport from Brisbane gets me the excellent Ibis Mackay, right on the MCY Arrival door. Grateful for a earlier checkin to #717, a great avgeek room number, This is my second stay & my preferred view & location is perfectly remembered.
The room is bright & clean with good facilities to relax & get some work done.
Staff are helpfull & greeting & add to the seamless restful stay.
Some further Covid restrictions have been further lifted with services like the self serve coffee machine including hot chocolate back ! Nice tasty dinner with a couple of Accor drinks, finish off the day. Breakfast is wow, with a great slection including a grazing option. Very filling on the Sunday morning.
The day goes quick with some outdoor activites & a complimenting late check out leaves me to the Airport.
Great staff ; thanks so much. Back soon !

Good morning great to hear you are heading to Mackay for a holiday. There is a great web page of the top 101 things to do in Mackay. I am unable to attach the link however if you google 101 things to do in Mackay the full list will come up.
ibis Mackay Airport is 6.4km from the city centre. Mackay is quite spread out and I would recommend hiring a car during your time here. There are all the major hire car companies at the airport. We have complimentary car parking at the hotel for guests. Alternately there is a taxi rank at the front of the hotel.
