Very poor, car parking was a lottery. As it was raining 3 out of 4 days, had to park in the outside areas as the undercover parking seemed to be allocated to residents. The Lift was broken on one day and as we were on the fourth floor, it was difficult with luggage etc. Not told what was wrong.
a great place to stay if in Mackay, clean, bright , big rooms with all facilities - felt as if it was a house rather than a hotel; close proximity to everything; well equipped with everything you would need - to cook, launder clothes- definitely would stay only here if we were to come again to Mackay; this was the best ever air-conditioning of all the hotels we have ever stayed in
Thoroughly enjoyed staying for 3 days. Modern, Comfortable, clean and safe. Located within walking distance to shops, business centre, restaurants and short drive to air port. I would recommend staying here to anyone. My trip was for family and business.
Was very disappointed in this oaks property. The carpets were rather dirty and stained, we stayed for three days from Boxingday. I fully understand that servicing of the rooms was minimal, but they should have left extra towels, toilet paper etc if there was no cleaning done. The room was also very noisy when the pub across the road was playing music. I usually stay at Oaks properties, but I won’t be recommending this one
We stayed here for one night on our way north. The room itself was fine however we had a few issues that the girl on reception didn’t seem to care about. Her answer was “it’s a public holiday and I can’t get someone out now to fix it.” - meanwhile we knew she was due to finish shortly after we spoke. We asked Kate if there were any dining options in the area that were open or that she recommended (seeing as we only had one night) and we also asked if she knew what the weather was looking like for that evening as it was heavily raining when we checked in. She brushed us off and said she works public holidays so she wouldn’t know about restaurants and quite sarcastically said she doesn’t know the weather forecast. That’s understandable however there was no care shown in trying to assist with either of our queries. The rooms need a little update and shower needs a good bleach to get rid of mould stains along the entire floor. The ceiling fan didn’t work and neither did the foxtel. The TV was impossible to watch as it’s sitting on a very low cabinet. The air con made a funny noise so we lifted the flap to find the filter was absolutely disgusting and looked like it hasn’t been cleaned in months. A little scary seeing as covid should have sparked major cleans. We liked the sliding screen door so we could keep the door open throughout the night, great size room for a small stay. It had two sinks which came in handy also. The balcony was a great size and was very clean and tidy. …
