I had a 5 night stay at the Oceanside central in July to visit family , upon arrival I was offered ( didn’t ask for ) a microwave oven to be brought to my room , I was also offered a continental breakfast which I agreed to ( as the restaurant was closed due to COVID) , The microwave never arrived and the breakfast hadn’t arrived by 11am so I went to reception and asked about breakfast and was told “sorry I will get it now “ person at reception also asked if I wanted breakfast the next day, which I agreed to , I took my breakfast to my room and had just finished , when there was a knock at my door , it was the manager with my breakfast for the next day , The room was quite small , no view and shower when turned on soaks the bathroom floor, In a 5 day when I needed clean towels I had to ask at reception , none were offered Parking spaces very small , it would be difficult with a large 4x4 to park , The Mackay Oceanside central is located quite near to a great walking track though All in all a disappointment Plenty of other better options in Mackay…

We’ve becoming here annually for the Last 5 years because of the excellence in customer service and housekeeping. We love the location close to the beach and far enough from the city not to get the noise. The best rooms are at the rear, north facing 1st floor (if you want these book early as they go quickly) We had a significant issue on arrival which couldn’t be resolved that day, but after customer service specialist Kim became involved the following morning it was quickly resolved...thank you Kim. A must mention are the beds, they are THE most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept on, some have come close but never trumped them. The bathrooms are large with Jack and Jill sinks and plenty of bench space for your toiletry bags. Rooms are spacious tasteful decorated and exceptionally clean. The balcony is ideal for that after beverage with cheeses and crackers.…

The booking said 24hr reception, which usualy means a code to enter on your own, but I arrived to a helpful gentleman at the counter, who pointed out the needful things and directed me to a section of undercover parking. The room is modern and clean, good value overall for this overnight.

Great place to stay, spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The area is very quiet and there is a beautiful park close by also a good walk around the point and along the river. Would definitely stay again
