Good value for what i paid for. Great location. Room is clean, facilities are up to my expectations. The only thing i might want to change is the lighting. My room was quite dark, make it less cozy, i like the idea of light switch next to the bed side table, very convenient. But my room doesnt have an electric socket next to the bed, so cant really be on my phone while lying down. Other than that, the service was excellent, i only stayed for 2 nights but they make sure to give me room service, which was excellent. Will come back if i need to spend some time in Mackay

At the end of a day driving, our family was grateful for the clean room and good bathroom. An older-style motel, but had the basics for our one night stopover. Comfortable beds, complimentary tea/coffee/milk, tv, ample parking (although spaces were tight).
Brief encounter with check-in was amiable and efficient.
The only disappointment, which was purely aesthetic therefore minor in the grand scheme of things, was the access to OUR room being a shared space with the restaurant at the streetfront. We were walking through stored furniture before going upstairs.

We arrived in Mackay in the late afternoon on Boxing Day without reservations, and chose the Coral Sands Motel because of it's charming old style look. The lady at reception was warm and friendly, the room spacious and being centrally located, within walking distance to a bottleshop and serveral pubs. It was very quiet, and unfortunately didn't get to try the pool but it looked inviting.

We arrived very late one night and as advised when booking we were messaged with the details for a late check-in which went well. The room was good and the next morning I went to the Office to let them know we had arrived and the lady (Gail I think) offered us umbrellas as we were attending a funeral and rain was predicted. That evening, a Friday, I took the breakfast menu to the Office and the man (sorry I forget his name) was surprised I had a menu as they only deliver breakfast Monday to Friday. I apologised and said it was okay but he insisted he take the order and deliver it to us Saturday morning. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast and were very grateful and apologetic. When we arrived home our daughter discovered she had left a very old, well worn teddy bear behind. She rang the motel and it was there so we had our son collect it. In the mean time we received a lovely message with photos of Ted on the computer, doing sign ins and cuddles with the Owner These 2 lovely people definitely go far and beyond with hospitality. The motel although older is very clean, comfortable beds, good bathroom, in a good location and the hosts really make you feel so welcome. We would definitely stay here again.

TO AVOID : even for short stay. Reception closes at 7pm, if you need anything else after these hours, you can reach them by phone but you feel very welcome … Room very old and smells not good. No hot water at all in the room. I asked a fair compensation but they have an explanation for everything to not compensate.

On our way through Mackay one evening, we chose the Coral Sands as our overnight stay. At first, to be honest, we were a little put off because the motel was very busy, and it wasn't what we originally expected. That said, Sal and Al, our hosts were very personable and welcoming, so we quickly adjusted our thinking and settled in.
The place was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the price was right. We will be staying again on our next visit to Mackay.

We were travelling back from the Whitsundays to Brisbane (taking our time) and decided to make Mackay our first overnight. Checkin was easy and management very helpful re places to dine etc. The room was reasonably priced, king bed, decent size and very clean Happy to recommend and would stay here again

Arriving late. Sal patiently waited for us. Escorted us to our room and gave us our breakfast as we would be leaving early in the morning before breakfast started. She even gave some extra fruit for my daughter. Sal made sure that we were comfortable and that we were okay. We put the breakfast in the fridge and ordered Chinese for dinner, which was delivered to our room. I had planned on watching some tv but fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. The bed and pillows were so comfortable. I am a little too tall for the shower but that's okay, the room was great, we felt safe and slept well.

I stayed here for work. The man at the reception was very friendly and nice. The location of the hotel is very good for where I needed to go. My room was very nice and clean, plenty of space as well. I found my bed to be comfy. I would definitely stay here again either for business or personal.

Save your money and go elsewhere. I have stayed in 20+ hotels with work and this place was terrible. Owner was extremely rude and shamed my disabled brother. I’ll be reporting this to the ndis!!! Horrible, filthy and rude. With so many accommodations in the area go elsewhere.
