This is just a regular accommodation, nothing special about it. It's rather cheap and the rooms are boring, but okay. You got everything in walking distance tho. Restaurants, shopping centre, etc. I wouldnt really recommend it tho solo travellers tho.

A pretty average hostel, its definately fine for short term. Nothing special about it. Could have been a bit cleaner but i have seen worse than this for sure. Staff and kitchen was good cant complain here.

Stayed here twice in 2015 in a private room. The indoor and outdoor communal areas are great. Staff was helpful, room was clean and also had a small fridge for private use. Amenities were good and bathrooms clean. Kitchen area is huge with several large fridges for food storage. I notice that several persons have left negative feedback, which is... More

Since it's the only low budget accommodation in Mackay we didn't really have a choice, but being honest the hostel had this weird vibe. You got your own box with cutlery, plates, bowls and mugs which you had to take with you to the kitchen the whole time.. The location was perfect, there was lots of space in the kitchen... More

The room was very dirty, bed sheets were dirty, and the room was neglected in general. The atmosphere was really odd and uncomfortable. Very unpleasant staying. Very disturbing lady walking around the hallway most of our staying. If you have another option go for it.

The restrooms were dirty and very old. The staff did not open the reception on time in the morning. I would not stay another night here. There are no parking spaces. Everything seems a bit old. There was no tv and the internet only worked in the commun rooms. Don`t stay here unless you absolutely have to. It`s only 2... More

I have stayed here before and it was great, but I was disappointed in my second stay. The kitchen was tidy but the tables were super sticky and only 1 hot plate worked out of about 12 hot plates. We stayed in room 4 which had no windows and the air conditioning did not work so it was hotter in... More

Okay place. Staff was friendly and helped point out some things to do. Working wifi was nice. The room itself was okay. They had these skylights which woke you up at about 6am because of the light coming through and no way to cover them. Room also smelled a bit weird, but did have aircon. Kitchen had dirty dishes in... More

Pros: Friendly staff, spacious, quite cheap. Cons: Not so clean, very old, weird smell in the room, noisy. We have been woken up at 6 by the sun because there was no blinds. If you have another choice you should preferably avoid this hostel.

This is one of the best hostels I stayed in. Very friendly staff. The Greyhound bus arrived in Mackay around 11PM, after closing hours of the reception, but I called beforehand and they opened up for me. I was lucky to get a free upgrade to a private room, which to a backpacker is like winning the lottery. Room was... More
