We have stayed at Montego Sands Resort many times and love the location. We keep coming back for the beautiful beach and the value for money for the unit. The beach is at the end of the street and it is a few minutes walk along the beach to the flagged swimming area. Mermaid Beach is a lovely beach, not too busy (by Gold Coast standards). Montego Sands is in a great location for the beach but also very close to the large Broadbeach park, Pacific Fair (large shopping complex including cinemas), numerous restaurants and the light rail. The complex is fairly small with about 20 units. There is a pool, outdoor spa and BBQ area. Terry and family are great managers and always happy to help and make your stay enjoyable. There is secure parking under the building. The complex has 3 floors, no lifts. The two bedroom units are on the top floor and over split levels which we enjoyed as a family of 5. We had other family stay in the one bedroom units. Ground floor units are great if stairs are a problem (such as staying with a baby in a pram). The units were clean. Kitchen is small but has everything you need on holiday. This is not a serviced five star resort with all toiletries etc supplied. Montego Sands is an affordable unit with a small quantity of essentials such as soap and dishwashing liquid supplied initially. We grabbed all these essentials at the supermarket nearby for our lovely 9 night stay this year. We look forward to staying again!

I stayed at Montego Sands for over 2 weeks in June/July 2022 in a one bedroom deluxe apartment. The apartment was very comfortable and had everything that I needed. The manager Terry was very helpful and arranged a ground floor apartment. The venue was in a good location at Mermaid Beach in close proximity to Broadbeach and Pacific Fair.

I form the view that unless positive feedback is provided the operators will never know how users react to their property. Please read the positives and the negatives accordingly.

Montego Sands Resort is an older resort on the Gold Coast which is quickly being overshadowed by larger high rise buidlings. Some construction noise can be heard from the next door bulding in the early mornings.

Our unit (16) was a nice size for our short stay to visit friends so we were only there to sleep. It was fully equpped with all of the stuff needed to cook a meal, do the washing and relax on the balcony, if needed.

Security parking was guaranteed in the basement car park which required key access both in and out of the parking area.

On the pros: well equipped, neat living area, TV, tea and coffee making facilities, washing machine and dryer and great WIFI along with a very comfortable bed with extra blankets..

On the Cons: black mould inhabit the the shower area. It s not hard to eliminate mould, generally white vinegar and water will kill the stuff with a bit of elbow grease thrown in. Alternatively Exit Mould products are readilly available. The carpet in the living area and bedroom was bunched and needed to be re-stretched. It could be a trip hazard. The fridge was old but clean but the 'Stainless Steel' finish was rusted on the bottom of the fridge door which detracted from its overall appearance.

The microwave cavity was untidy, indeed parts of the unit needed a good clean. Kitchen windows were a bit grubby.

There are no elevators, from the basment to the first floor and it was slow for two 70 yo guests with suitcases and other bags to lug up the stairs.

However, the tariff was very competive, it was close to the surf club for meals and drinks.

If the maintenance items listed were dealt with I would make a more positive recommendation to stay there again.

Terry was very accommodating of our circumstances and has provided the best customer service. Very Fast replies to all of our emails. We have had an amazing time at his apartment and would definitely recommend it as a great option for anyone looking for beach front apartments out of surfers.

Room was good with a nice cosy balcony overlooking a courtyard. A couple of items would really make it perfect. Unit 5 the couch is past it, old and uncomfortable. Also a great stove, cutlery etc but went to cook something and NO saucepans or frying pan!!!! Never come across that before in a self-contained apartment. Also there's a huge construction about to start next door noise would be a problem through the week.

Great location and super helpful staff. They catered to the most elemental concerns quickly and with a great attitude. An example: the bbq had an issue and there were onto it instantly. This kind of responsiveness happened repeatedly. Would highly recommend.

I am a walker so I walked everywhere it would take me 20 mins to walk up to the main part of the Goldcoast. I am not sure about the g link as I did not use that so cannot share timetable details.

HI Eric Thank you for your email and we look forward to meeting you all. The answer to the car question is in my opinion with having a family of six it may be advisable to rent a car for a couple of days if you intend to go to the theme parks. To pay for a family of six on public transport would work out quite expensive. I do have details of a car company and she is very reasonable. It is a family run business. If theme parks are not on your agenda we are two minutes walk to the beach, 10 minutes walk to the shopping centres and pretty central to many eating places. There are a couple of ways to get to the resort - at the airport there is an airport shuttle that you can book when you get of the plane and you are probably best to book a return ticket because it is cheaper. You can catch a maxi taxi or if you do rent a car from the rental company she does meet people at the airport. Eric if you would like to know the car rental details or any further information please don't hesitate to email me direct. Kind regards Kaye
