First room was very small with a cracked toilet that wouldn't stop flushing, so we were given an alternative which was bigger. Close to the highway and opposite the bottle shop so lots of traffic. Pub doesn't offer any vegetarian options but the cafe across the road does good pizza and is a lot cheaper. Overall it was a bed for the night but I wouldn't recommend it. Breakfast was ok. Trouble with these towns is they make heaps of money off the mines so really don't have to offer competitive rates or good facilities, but if you want to travel inland you have to accept what's on offer or pay premium rates.
The staff are friendly and helpful.

I would give zero but give 2 for hot shower and aircon. We booked Standard Double Villa on Booking.com as it is the only room type offered there. It is a joke. All you get is bunker room with a little window in the backyard. When I asked about the room type no I explanation was given except for “that is what you get for $150 you paid”. Check in was the most humiliating experience with a guy called Michael. We booked at 7pm and sent a message that we will arrive at 9pm (check-in supposedly works until 11.30pm which is specified when you book). When we arrived I was told he would not have this booking but “voila” he just needed to open his mailbox and it was there! It took him 10min to put all details in the system while I was patiently waiting. Finally got the key and asked what time is breakfast. He said no cooked breakfast is offered if order is not done before 8pm so only toast/cereal which was obvious disappointment. I offered to update the info on the hotel description so other travelers are aware and maybe can call in to order if booking late (needless to say nobody called me at 7pm to ask). He rudely responded that he has no intention to update anything. I was astonished by such response and reiterated the message again for the benefit of other guests. He asked me to get out of the office! What an arrogance! “Michael, you deserve to be fired for such behavior with guests who suggest improvements to the property description”. I just regret that I didn’t spend these money at other property where owners would care about the guests”. Pics below is what you get for $150 when you book “standard double villa” and “continental breakfast”.

There's not much choice in Moura - just 2 motels, but a new motel is being built close by. Be prepared this motel is priced for the mining industry so low value.
Not much that would recommend the CnC - check in is matter of fact, rooms are small and stained sheets! The restaurant at breakfast time should be condemned - health hazard. Nothing to recommend the place - but there is limited choice. Biloela is 40 minutes away and has a lot more choice.

I'm offended that your website says free cancellation however i have no credit in my bank account of $139.00.

DONNA who ever you are on the phone was quite rude in addressing me when i did the right thing to ring and cancel my booking.
I mean, I'm one in 24 million Aussies and she had to be rude to me of all people, totally unacceptable.

upside - i probably dodged a bullet by even staying their regardless

This is not about the motel, but it is about the bar/restaurant which is attached to the hotel. Just left the place. Worse service on earth because I order my meal twice and twice, I didn't get it. I finally ask for my money back. Yes, they did get me credit for the food I order twice and never got and didn't even say sorry. Only thing they could say was, we are having trouble with the wire that holds the orders. Looking around the place everyone else was getting their food. Needless to say, will not be going back there!!!!!!!!! And I live in this town.

This is a copy of an E-Mail I sent to the Hotel management.

Hi, Here is our view of the Coal n Cattle in Moura and I have attached your customer forms.

We booked via the net for a Queen bed, private cabin with en-suite.

On arrival and after a 10 minute wait at reception I was given a key which I discovered was for a motel room .

I returned to reception( another 10 minutes) and explained and showed my booking and fully paid receipt for a cabin.

One young lad(sorry I work in the kitchen) and two ladies later I`m given a key for Cabin 60.

The cabin was a disgrace .

It STANK OF URINE, carpet and bathroom floor reeked, it was dusty, had bugs and beetles in the shower base,
a dirty used sock under the bed, thin threadbare tiny towels.

The furniture was old and well worn out and the Queen bed advertised was a creaking old metal frame double bed.

The air-con shuddered when cranking up or switching off, there was no wardrobe .

We had driven a thousand clicks that day so were too tired to complain --just lets get a cuppa and a bite to eat.

No kettle --to be seen -- back to reception (another 10minutes wait ) kettle promised within 15 minutes.

In the meantime while my partner was kettle hunting I find one in the Bathroom cupboard, yep that works!! also found an iron in same cupboard.

OK --clean off the dust, boil twice, empty and boil again , go to get the tea and milk no milk.

Back to reception given 2 small cartons .

The fridge had a mixture of chocolate bars and drinks (some of the cans had been placed in the freezer section and exploded).

No prices for these items in the room folder which itself had pages stuck together and had ads for the Christmas functions, this in the middle of January.

On the outside verandah table was an ashtray full of cigarette butts --this for a non smoking Cabin.

I am used to a bit of rough and ready service when away from the cities but this takes some beating.

If I had been paying $60bucks for a quick motel stopover I would still have been put off by the stink of P--s
but to pay close to $160 plus dinner and drinks was very rude.

Not impressed at all, but then do you care when you are in the middle of mining country?

The price included breakfast which was self serve hot bain marie and cereals-- just as well as we never saw any staff for the hour we were there.

There is a Motel and a Caravan Park in Moura, do yourself a favour and try them before
attempting to stay at this pub. Terrible

Very average. Aircon/ heater not working lucky had a blanket. Rooms not serviced. Food is ok but thats about all that is good. The cabin beds heads all loose and rock which is very annoying. Shower door did not close properly. The bathroom windows have gaps in between them allowing insects into the room. This will be the last time i stay there.

Travelling we stopped into Moura for lunch. This pub had extremely friendly service, affordable delicious meals. Kids were happy to find the tech in kids corner. The eating area was lovely & clean. We will definitely be back again.
