This is an older style property in a great location within a short walk to amenities in Coolangatta and across the road from the beach. The room was adequate and spotless with all the usual amenities. Our room had the river view, some have an ocean view. It is a good option for a short stay and we would stay here again as reasonably priced.

We booked direct with the hotel for a same night stay. Our plans changed due to the floods in SE Queensland and we were without accommodation for a night. For the price (under $150 per night), I think Greenmount Beach Hotel offers great value for the area. It is priced well under the Hotel Chains. Its an old place, but the lobby and common areas have been redecorated nicely, giving it a beach, cool feel. We had a twin room on the 9th floor which had great views over the Tweed River, the room was newly refurbished and very clean. Beds very comfortable, linen spotless and a nice bathroom. It is 1 minute walk from gorgeous Greenmount Beach and 5 minutes walk to shops and services at Coolangatta. There is a nice vibe about the place, sort of like the Old Gold Coast. Staff were accommodating and friendly. I was given a late checkout due to later flights. We did not consider this a downside as there are many options very close by, but no restaurant or bar operating onsite currently. But there is a great Surf Club right across the road and vast range of dining options within a few minutes walk. Overall a really nice stay. I would choose Greenmount Beach Hotel again over the chain hotel I stayed in earlier in my trip, just because of the friendly, easy feel of the place.

I’ve been coming to Greenmount since 1982 and although not much has changed in 40 years the room we had on the tenth floor was very clean and tidy with great views overlooking both Coolangatta and Rainbow Beach. The sun in June was on our balcony for most of the day which was a great way to relax and soak up the winter sun. A couple of minutes walk to restaurants, club and beach. The Queen size bed was very comfortable. Friendly reception staff. All in all very good value for money.

The hotel was full of back packers and junkies. Could hear drunk, high or angry people swearing and arguing every night. The sound proofing of the rooms was poor and slamming doors out in the hallway would wake us throughout the night as party goers would return at all hours.
Of the two lifts, one was out of order and the other was painfully slow.
The location and access to the beach is excellent but unfortunately this place is over priced and not pleasant to stay at.

Run down and not looked after, mould on the outside of the facility and on the ceiling in the room. I lift working, no food offered on the premises, pool dirty and in poor repair. The room smelled awful, paint peeling from tiles in the bathroom, walls and balcony, mould on the ceiling. The bed was uncomfortable, cheap tea and coffee provided for a stay of $210 per night. Photos of the venue through bookings. Com are not current and the breakfast rating of 8.2 is for a service not currently offered.

This was my least favorite hotel that I stayed at while in Australia. Came here with my family and we only spent a night. Tried to check-in early but couldn't which is understandable. However, they put in a call to housekeeping to try to get our room cleaned and from what I could hear on the conversation with them later was that they would get to our room when they could. Why not try to accommodate the guests who are there waiting than work on another room first? I work in tourist/hotel industry so I don't get that mentality. Also upon check-in I slipped walking up to the front desk on water that was on the floor from what I'm assuming was someone who maybe stood there dripping from the pool area. The two people at the front desk saw it happen and did nothing to clean it up. Didn't even ask if I was ok. Glad I didn't seriously hurt myself and hope no one else did either! Anyways, the room was definitely outdated but our beds were very comfortable. Wifi was hardly usable and I had to walk down to the mall area to connect there to the free wifi. Parking could definitely be an issue. There aren't enough parking spots but we got lucky each time and got the last spot. Wanted to store luggage for about 3 hours after checkout and front desk wasn't real excited about it. They made some sort of comment about having too much to store but at that point there wasn't hardly even anything sitting in storage. It was a bit of a walking distance to the mall, shops and restaurants area. Nice beach close by. Wouldn't really recommend this place at all. There has to be better hotels in this area!

Stayed here for 3 nights with my husband. Yes the hotel is old and in good need for a full Refurb/Reno/pulldown BUT I still loved it! The king size bed was comfy and clean, the bathroom had been updated and was clean enough with soft fresh towels, excellent excellent location, friendly cleaning and reception staff. The down side was the balcony’s were reallly kind of unsittable due to the aircon overflow flooding the ground, the pool did not look very hygienically maintained after many kids swimming in it constantly but the ocean across the road is crystal clear turquoise anyway. I will definitely be coming back! Make sure you request a room from floor 8 or higher so you have a food view thru the Norfolk pine trees to the ocean 🌊💗🏄🏼♀️🍹

The good: Location was good, very handy to the beach, the surf club, and numerous restaurants etc. Also handy to Twin Towns but that was inaccessibly due to border restrictions. Beds were comfortable. Unit was clean and quite big. Seemed to be doing the right thing with Covid plans.
The bad and the ugly: Car park is atrocious, and staff member when asked about the car park was precocious. "Limited off street parking" is a generous description; not nearly enough car parks for available, and the car park is rough with very narrow spaces. House keeping staff were knocking on the door looking to strip out the room before we had even checked out. The bathroom fit-out looked like something from a cheap country backpackers. 4th floor room, had a limited view to the Tweed River, but the view also featured the very unsightly roofing over the entry "gazebo". Family room that has only one chair and no table? although the patio had a an outdoor table & two chairs.

Look, there were some positives; great location and walking distance to everything you need, great colour scheme of the whole place, lovely lobby and friendly check in staff. But the negatives made it super average. The hotel itself is more like a motel, they refer to it as a resort in their in room information but it is far from a resort or hotel. It’s VERY dated, the bathroom was rusty around the edges of everything. Bed was springy and noisy and the most annoying part was that the lift wasn’t working so you had to walk through a fire exit for 8 floors until you reached the top. All of the negatives made it a little uncomfortable, I probably wouldn’t stay again. But I want to make it clear that the service was good and that’s something they should be proud of.
