Detailed Reviews
Our first visit back after 2 years have seen a number of changes. The most important for us being the new pet friendly sites near the amenities block and close to the pool.Lovely big sites with concrete slabs! Most with shade. All were neatly mowed and edge trimmed. The reception staff were very efficient and friendly and we were checked in quickly. This park only allows dogs with current vaccination certificates. They allow dogs of all sizes so long as they are well behaved unlike so many parks that only allow little dogs. We have a little dog but I do find it unfair how large dogs are so often discriminated against.
The parks amenities are both spacious and clean with super water pressure in the showers. There are two very large blocks at either end of the park both with laundry facilities.
The beach and esplanade is a short stroll away. There are numerous coffee shops and a 7/11 and bakery nearby and the Strand shopping centre at Coolangatta has Aldi, Woolworths and a number of speciality shops and is a very short car or bike ride away. We found it an easy walk along the esplanade to get there.
Early morning walks from the caravan park along the esplanade to Greenmount Beach are absolutely spectacular and well worth getting up for and a dip in the big crystal clear resort pool when you get back is lovely.
All in all this holiday park is WELL worth a visit and the fact that you can take your furry best friend with you all year round makes it a perfect holiday destination.

We originally chose this park for convenience. How lucky were we to find this park. This is an older park that has a mixture of permanent and holiday accommodation. This usually puts us off staying at such a park.....not in this case. The park has very large caravan sites that separates you from your neighbours. The Great bonus is the large open areas with lots of old established, shady trees. There are two large, very well maintained ablution blocks that are kept spotless. The laundries have been upgraded with large machines and super large modern driers. The BBQ plates are cleaned to a shiny finish every morning, no matter what mess is left by some lazy caravanners.
To top it off, the staff are courteous, happy and very helpful. I rang the park after leaving on one occasion to see if they could tell me where to buy their BBQ cleaning pads. The staff member didn't know, but did some research and sent me a link to the company that sold them, 10/10. Thanks!
We have to come to the GC every couple of months and automatically stay here. Love the park!

Cabin is clean, lovely and spacious. Outdoor table is way too big for the patio area and difficult to manoeuvre a wheel chair and wheely walker.
Check in is 2pm. The one accessible cabin wasn’t available however my parents are not confined in a wheelchair and this cabin was suitable. 2 steps up to the cabin only and shower was a flat floor (little step into it) Cabin wasn’t ready until 2.15pm and floors were still wet. I was concerned for my elderly parents so I used the cabins mop which was broken. I did take the broken mop to reception and it was replaced quickly. Staff are very friendly. The wheelchair accessible bathroom on the premises in the laundry area in the park is difficult to get a wheel chair over the door way as the ground is uneven.
It’s a shame caravan parks do not have more accessible cabins though as I found tallebudgera only had one as well.
Beach is a little far however it forced us to go to different beaches in the car along the coastline to enjoy.
It is dog friendly, and Even though we are not dog people, people had their dogs contained, and was not an issue at all.
Just FYI the Kirra beach lifesavers were very happy to take my Mum with their buggy close to the waterline where we could all sit together, and do the same when leaving. Just ask!

Hi mariakS8799AP, Thanks so much for taking the time to review us after your recent visit to Kirra. We take all guest feedback very seriously and have taken onboard your comments. We are committed to continuously improving our facilities and service for our valued guests. As noted, check-in time is 2pm and our housekeeping team do their absolute best to ensure the cabins are cleaned to the highest standard ready for our new guests to arrive. We apologise for the broken mop and glad we were able to rectify in a timely manner. In relation to the park’s accessible facilities, thank you for your feedback. We will discuss this further in our upcoming management meeting to see how we can further enhance this guest feature. We are delighted to read about your lovely experience down at the beach with our local lifeguards. They do a wonderful job, and we are so pleased your parents had a wonderful time by the seaside. Thanks again for your feedback. We hope to welcome you back to Kirra again sometime soon. Regards, Jeff Guest Experience Manager

Firstly I am extremely appreciative that Kirra Park, in certain areas of the park, allow dogs. (Taking them with me is the only way, I can get away.)
On arrival, I was alarmed, that they now have a policy where they cannot reverse your van in. Other parks, on the coast, as far as I know do not follow this policy.
I found the site, in need of a clean (small bits of rubbish on ground and it needed a good whipper snip.)
On my own for the most part, and having to take the dogs with me everywhere, I was unable to buy necessities. There is a 7/11 close by - but they did not sell tomatoes, eggs, bread rolls, tin of pineapple etc (insect spray $7.50) - I stopped going there and eventually had to leave the dogs locked up in the van to go by car to the Strand at Coolangatta, as one day nearly walked to NSW to find a store (where I could tie up dogs) that sold eggs.
I had my dogs on leash the whole time, except for accidentally escapes, but some of the bigger dog owners did not and, at times, I had to avoid the big dog poos situated very close to my van.
Overall there are many positives, very quiet at night, didn't really hear the planes, great location to the beach. The amenities looked clean, even though didn't use shower. The pool looked great, even though didn't use.

Hi Donna, Thanks so much for your feedback regarding the location of the park. I have just checked out the 7/11 and they do indeed sell eggs and many other items you mentioned, and there is a lovely bakery 2 doors down from the 7/11 which have delicious bread rolls, and many other yummy baked delights. We are so pleased you were able to bring your pets, although we do prefer that pets are with their owner at all times and not left onsite unattended. I am sorry to hear you had another dog pooing near your site. We do our best to ensure all owners are responsible for their pets and are keeping them on lead during their stay, but unfortunately not everyone thinks the rules apply to them. I will speak with the team regarding the site having rubbish and needing a whipper snip- thanks for bringing that to our attention. I do hope we will see you again for another Kirra beach getaway. Safe travels.

Firstly I would like to say the reception staff are great friendly girls will do the best for you. We stayed on a dog friendly site which was fine but the gardens and surrounding areas are disgraceful for $70 per site and sites with no grass is terrible. We stayed before xmas and hoses were over pathways for watering new turf laid with council barrier nets to protect the turf

Hi Debbie, I apologise that you noticed hoses over the footpaths during your stay. We were using them to continually water our new turf areas but, as promised, we have re-organised these since you sent your feedback through at the beginning of January. We used the feedback you sent through earlier in the year to help us prioritise work needed around the park. Our grounds team have been doing a fantastic job since the peak season has subsided and I hope you will love the improvements they have already been able to make since your stay in early January. Along with our teams hard work, we have also finally had some much needed rain which has made the entire park green and beautiful again! It is great that you found our staff in the office very friendly. We feel very lucky to have such an amazing team and I will pass your feedback along to them. We look forward to showing you our improvements when you next stay with us. Safe travels.

Loved being at Kirra Beach Tourist Park. We have a dog and the area we had was great, large site with plenty of room between vans. The site was clean and easy to keep neat. The facilities were clean and seemed new. The garbage bins were plentiful and emptied often so there were no smells or insects. Our dog loved the dog wash. The laundry facilities are well kept and clean. We loved it so much we are already planning for when we can come again.

Thank you for acknowledging the cleanliness of the park, amenities and facilities as the entire team work hard to ensure the park is in the best condition possible for all guests to enjoy, including their furry family members with a dog wash and trees galore, it’s very much a doggie haven. Thanks for taking to time to write this amazing review which I will certainly share with the team. We very much look forward to welcoming you back to Kirra soon. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Sites are large, clean and level. Kids loved the jumping pillow, playground, pool and kids activities on offer. We're definitely going to come back. The only thing that could do with an upgrade are the toilets and showers. Buy still OK and clean. There is only one camp kitchen for the whole site which is also the only place to wash dishes. So depending on where the site is it can be a bit of a walk. All in all still had a great time though and the campsite is brilliant.

The staff are super super friendly, and the park is located in a great area, with walking distance to the beach and walking tracks. The amenities are fabulous, with great shower pressure, and the largest laundry I've ever seen, consisting of super fast dryers as well as 3 ironing boards with irons set up ready to go. They are so welcoming of dogs, and even give a free doggie treat, as well as a token to their in-park dog wash. We will definitely be back!!!!!

Large, leafy and tranquil caravan park with beautiful birds everywhere and the best shower pressure of any park we’ve stayed in. Friendly, smiling staff. We spent our days surfing Snapper Rocks and being near the airport is no bother with reduced air traffic at the moment. Highly recommend!

We just spent a lovely weekend at Kirra Beach Tourist Park in our van. 5 min walk to the beach and 5-10 min walk to local cafes. The site was really generous in size, the grounds were extremely well maintained and had loads of lovely lawn right near our site for our boys to run around on playing soccer. The toilets and showers were always clean and all the common areas were well maintained and clean. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Absolutely could not fault anything. We are definitely keen to head back again for another weekend soon hopefully.

no. Only in the caravan park dog allotted sites.
If you go to their website there are quite a lot of photographs to look through. The pet area it near the pool and camp kitchen area. If you contact them I think that they may be able to send you a site map. It is a large spacious park.
Good morning,
Check in for a van site is 11am and check out is 10am.
Hope to see you soon.
Pet area is fine, nice and grassy. Had large vans in there(24 ft) website says pets on application, not sure they allow pets during school holidays. Close to amenities and pool area. Mayb give them a buz and find out for sure👍
Unsure however they usually are in off peak season
