We decided to stay at the Riverside for a 4 night “getaway” – thinking it was ideally located and had a 4 star rating…..however …. it did not live up to expectations. On the positive side – the view was great, the beds were comfortable. That’s about it.
The room was “tired” – renovations are overdue. The street noise carried all the way up to the 4th floor…… and worse was the constant rattling of the bedroom windows due to the windy days --- we finally worked out that a spoon pushed between windows panes solved that problem.
The other noise issue came from the river – as many boats are moored there, and one night the roaring party outside went on until 4 am. (not the hotel’s fault – the location is the issue).
We wanted a couple of extra pillows – but were told that none were available (give me a break!) When I was clearly displeased – 2 miraculously appeared at our door.
I brought along a USB drive with some movies to watch – but while the TV had a USB port – the on screen menu did not list the USB port as a possible input… so no luck there.
The room was not very clean – it had not been vacuumed – bits everywhere, even an empty pill contained left on the shelf. Bathroom was OK. The night table tops were “sticky”.
The maids neglected to refill the coffee and tea daily – we kept having to ask for supplies.(which we did get).
So overall, very expensive for what you get (or don’t get). Not recommended.

Our stay in this otherwise very nice hotel was spoilt by a smoker smoking on the balcony beneath our room at 5am. We had our windows open to enjoy the fresh air as it is situated right on the river. The written policy is no smoking in rooms or balconies -with a fine of $300. Although we reported it I doubt the person received the fine. I noticed another person smoking on a balcony further down the next day also but luckily it didn't reach us. We asked the person to desist but he ignored us. We rang the reception out of hours number but it rang out. As you can tell we were not happy, especially as this hotel is quite expensive. On the positive side the view over the river is stunning and the bed was comfortable. The room was clean. The staff were friendly and helpful after a long car journey. The male cleaner was also very helpful (where to find coffee etc) as reception does not open early. The room was large and well appointed with a small bathroom (plug needs fixing). It is walking distance to the CBD.

We booked a King room via Wot if and found it a bit misleading. Expecting a balcony with a bit of view instead of green roof covered in bird poop. (Level 2) The balcony it self needed a clean , there was cigarette butts and old toys on roof which made for an unpleasant experience with no outdoor furniture to sit down.
An average but fair stay for the price. Room was little tired , bed was comfortable but rooms are definitely not sound proofed as advertised, could hear people in next room, toilets flushing and doors slamming.
Good car parking below and out front and handy location to the river, restaurant and coffee shops and local pubs close by. On arrival of our three night stay I was presented with one complimentary drink voucher but only one not one for my partner , as I went to use it I was informed I had to dine in the restaurant again a little bit misleading.
Tips and lessons learned, book directly with hotel to guarantee a better view.

We stayed for two nights in a Riverview room the curtains in the room had holes in them and there was cracks in the tiles around the shower. Out of all the hotels that we have stayed in this is the only hotel to charge us for drinking the bottled water there was not even a jug of water supplied not that we could fit it in the fridge Because the fridge was stocked full of cans of Coke chocolate and wine, things that we had to pay for which were far too expensive anyway. There are other hotels that are better value for money

We chose an executive suite for the extra space and view.
The lift only reaches level 4 and our "suite" was on level 5, so two flights of stairs to negotiate. Guests should be told this in advance.
The space is roomy but very tired. The view was 45 degrees of the river from a tiny balcony devoid of any furniture. Very disappointing and certainly not worth the $250 we paid.
Restaurant was not open as "chef was ill."
Consider travelling an extra 20 minutes to the Manta at Bargara and enjoy a modern apartment with 180 degree sea views for the same cost.

This hotel seems to be the only “hotel” available in Bundaberg and it is extremely dated.
The staff are nice and there is secure parking but the hotel needs some serious money spent on it. The furniture is dated, the bathrooms need an upgrade, the walls need painting and the hallways smell very musty.
There was a big hole in the exhaust vent above the shower and that also smelt very musty. I noticed a bottle of “No Frills” detergent under the kitchen sink which hasn’t been available in supermarkets for many many years. In some rooms there is a sticker in the cupboard saying the blankets were last cleaned in 2017!!!
I’ve stayed in much more modern hotels that charge the same rate per night.

Booked king room and decided we would like a river view so I phoned the hotel and had the booking changed. Unfortunately I never asked for a confirmation email and on arrival was given the original booking of the king room. The rooms are certainly tired with paper thin walls and are definitely in need of an upgrade, also the room was very musty smelling with no exhaust of any kind in the bathroom, there was no window in our room only a door without a screen and the insects came in if you had it open to get some fresh air. Even though the website stated breakfast was available this was not the case. On the bright side the bed was very comfortable and the room was clean.

Well appointed and clean room in lovely hotel on the Burnett River. Bed was very comfortable. Restaurant wasn’t open due to renovations but we went across the road to a great hotel for dinner. Staff were absolutely lovely, friendly and helpful. Under cover parking which was fantastic as we were there when 160mm of rain fell overnight, but it was a really quiet room other than the rain!

Large clean room with older style furniture with a comfortable bed and a lovely river view There was a balcony though kept the door shut as there was a noisy fan from the restaurant. Bathroom was a good size and room on the vanity to put things. The shower was over a spa bath so could be difficult for some people to get into

The accommodation - Whilst the room was large and well equipped, it faced the street and was extremely noisy. The room was older style colonial and could well do with an update. The bottom sheet was not fitted and the pillows keep falling down through the bedhead and this made for a very uncomfortable sleepless night. Make sure when you book to ask for a room towards the back. The restaurant - If dining in I would recommend making a booking, whilst we were told that there was no need when booking our accommodation, the staff in the restaurant said it was highly recommended and you will not have a table close to the front of the deck. The food was very ordinary, service was terrible and staff could well do to pay more attention to what is going on in the restaurant. On a positive side they have happy hour from 4.30 and all drinks are 1/2 price except bottles of wine.
