Detailed Reviews
This old hotel is opposite the railWay station. Wide choice of pub food. Lovely old hotel. Outdoor area with separate bar which would be great during summer.
The acoustics in the dining room made it very noisy. The front bar looked very inviting.

Grand old building, main bar and sit down areas inside and out. Outdoor Kids area needs attention as the wood chip seated area is absolutely littered with cigarette butts. Otherwise a good venue with a lot of space.

I stayed here in August 2013, largely as an experiment. I stayed here 20 years before and wanted to see whether I could still deal with a small room and a communal bathroom. The answer was I couldn't. While the pub downstairs seemed to be doing decent business for a week night, I was the only guest upstairs. The lady / owner at reception was very nice and friendly. Overall though, I didn't get the impression the hotel were really that interested in the accommodation they offered. The rooms (I was given a choice and checked out 3) were all dingy with no natural light. They are about 3.5m x 3.5m wide with a sink in the corner (which did not have hot water) a double bed and small wardrobe. The shared facilitiesat were grim - it remined me of a backpackers I stayed at in Warsaw in 1997. The showers dribbled water, it took ages for the hot to start and I imagine that females would not feel very secure using the facilities at all! But at $50 a night, can you really complain? Probably not.

As soon as you walk in, you know you’re in the best pub in town. Welcoming, comfortable, quality food and a vast and exciting choice of beverages. The publican has clearly put a lot of thought into his service offering. Every box is ticked.
Can’t recommend highly enough.

We love visiting The Tamworth Hotel when we come to Tamworth.
We love the Atmosphere of the Pub itself, the warmth & friendliness of the staff, the internal architecture and furnishings, and the STEAKS on the GRILL are superb especially when eating in the Outdoor Beer Garden under the stars and the Greeny leafed canopy.
Love it, keep doing what you are doing right. Thanks so much for our enjoyable time there recently, when we were passing through on our way west. Always you get a great feed and good beer at The Tamworth Hotel.

Visited The Tamworth Hotel for lunch. Initial thought was, you can't go wrong with a schnitzel, absolutely terrible choice. Gravy tasted off, salad old and wilted and chips soggy and over cooked. Very disappointed, not worth the time of day.

Location is central which made our stay easy during the festival with our daughter. The room was clean, well put together and comfy. Ticked all these boxes for me and my family. Consistently good food in the pub, well cooked quality produce and a crafty menu for a country pub. Good wine list too. It had a welcoming vibe from the start and a good mix of locals and visitors. Highly recommend it. Well done guys. We’ll be back

My family and I enjoyed a fun time on the weekend for the country music festival. Headed to the best pub in town for a great dinner and cold beers. Service top notch and recommend the burgers ! Definitely enjoy a beer in the beer garden too

"The odd numbered rooms are on the quieter side of the corridor - even numbered rooms overlook the beer garden so can be noisy on weekends."Read full review
"Don’t take a room on the left side of the corridor numbers 7, 5 or 3 as you’ll be kept awake by the kitchen hands excessively loud stereo while they clean up until past 11:00 pm (one of my requests that was met with a less-than-friendly response while trying to sleep after a 9 hour day on a bike)."Read full review
