The rooms are very modern & clean. The air conditioning worked a treat during the 40 plus Celsius degree days. We loved the rockery around the pool, it was a pleasure to relax there. The onsite restaurant is the best serving the most incredible steaks! There are also delicious vegetarian options for the non meat eaters. Fabulous cocktails & wine list. All served by attentive & thoughtful staff.

For me the luxury and appeal of a 4.5 star hotel is about having the little things taken care of and the feeling of your stay being effortless.
I arrived on Sunday night at 830pm after 4 hours in the car and the temperature outside was 34 degrees.
Tamworth is always very hot during the summer and is often over 40 degrees during the day.
Check in was easy, efficient and friendly. I was looking forward to getting into my luxurious room and laying in bed.
When I was able to open my room on the top floor, the heat from inside of the room nearly knocked me off my feet.
The room was much closer to 40 degrees with the beautiful tiles Inside radiating heat.
I switched on the aircon and the ceiling fan hoping things would cool down soon.
I laid on my bed underneath the fan with the aircon set to 21 and was still too hot and uncomfortable to sleep at 11pm.
I went to get a cold bottle of water from the mini bar to keep myself cool however everything inside was warm. I laid awake until about 1am as I was so uncomfortable due to the room temperature.
The next morning my room had finally cooled to a nice temperature. I was starting my day right by using the gym (I always chose hotels with a gym as this is vital to my daily routine).
At 7am the gym was a stuffy hot box. I turned the aircon on when I entered the gym and managed to make use of the room even though it was uncomfortable due to the heat.
The cardio equipment both looks and operates like it was obtained from roadside waste collection.
The car parking is tight and the lines are almost invisible.
The room has two Vanity sized bins, if you put a tissue and bottle of water in there, it’s overflowing. The bins outside the rooms on the walkways are even smaller.
The restaurant is high end and meals are expensive. When reading the menu I needed to use google.
If you don’t want to sit in the restaurant it’s an additional $5 to have the meal in your room.
The room is beautifully fitted out with high quality Furniture, appliances and features with more power-points and USB chargers than you can poke a stick at.
The high speed unlimited WIFI is excellent, and it’s not one that requires a stupid portal log in each time, It’s so easy and makes me happy!
All the staff I came into contact with were incredibly professional, friendly, efficient and well presented.
This facility is so close to being excellent, it’s just missing the attention to the small things that really allow you to appreciate all the good things.

We stayed overnight at the Powerhouse Hotel and was taken aback at the quality of the refurbishment to a high standard venue.
The reception is spacious with a lounge area and highlights old appliances and artefacts. The reception leads to the relatively large restaurant, which featured a heavily worked wood ceiling. To the right of reception is a comfortable full bar and lounge.
Our room was very well planned and with striking appointments. It is hard to think of anything that one might need in the room which is not already provided. We had two lounge chairs with a small table and a wide desk and chair.
The bathroom is spacious due to the shower and toilet being separated from the wardrobe and and basin area.
Our king size bed and pillows were comfortable and we were surprised overnight , and for a Saturday, it was so quiet.
We did have drinks in the Bar, and a lunch and breakfast in the Restaurant, which is reviewed separately.
The staff are very welcoming and friendly. We did not want for anything but we were advised upon arrival that the reception was available 24/7.
A very enjoyable stay and a recommended accommodation destination in Tamworth.

Generally good staff relations. Receptionist was friendly and so were restaurant staff. A $10 credit was available for non service rooms. Beware fine print, only available against dining or minibar bills. On checkout we confirmed that we did not use minibar or dining facility thus no credit. Guess my surprise when a charge appeared on my credit card. On query virtually accused of forgetting or letting others into my minibar. As owner/operator of Best Western Motels, I found that insulting. Our policy was always, first to check the bin for any empties and then to telephone customer to check minibar usage. Always advise customer for charge to their credit card, especially if it your corporate customer. Some staff training is needed. In this difficult Covid times one really has to be extra vigilant in customer service. The pool needs to be cleaned. The water looked brownish and the bottom was black. Not attractive at all.

We appreciate your detailed review of your recent stay with us at The Powerhouse Tamworth. Please accept our apologies that your credit card was mistakenly charged, this definitely should not have happened as per our check out procedures. Thank you for your positive comments regarding our friendly staff & we're committed to ongoing training in all areas to ensure our guests experience exceptional customer service. Also just to clarify our outdoor pool is painted black on the bottom & our pool sign explains that under current Level 4 water restrictions in Tamworth we're using clean bore water which may appear cloudy - it is tested daily to ensure it is safe and clean for our guests to swim in. Once again thank you for your feedback.

Stayed 2 nights on a "gourmet getaway" package. One bedroom suite was well appointed. Comfortable bed. Although hotel is located on the main road, noise level in room was minimal. Mini bar, coffee machine and room service. Meals included in the package....dinner, main course and dessert...good selection of dishes, the kangaroo was delicious, as was the creme brulee . Breakfast included all the usual continental choices....served at the table, plus a cooked option. All staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, but in particular the restaurant staff. Covid check in, hand sanitiser and tables set apart all adhered to. Had a great stay.

What an amazing place! We were greeted by friendly staff from the moment we arrived. Our room was meticulously presented and we were immersed in comfort from the bed and pillows to the gorgeous salts that were provided for a luxurious spa bath. The food was also amazing; fresh and cooked to perfection. We were disappointed we had to leave but I cannot wait to return and spend some more time here.

My husband and I have just returned from our post xmas road trip during which time we stayed 3 nights at this hotel and had a fantastic stay. We booked the Gourmet Getaway for the duration of our stay which was excellent value for money. We opted not to have room serviced because of Covid-19 but was able to obtain clean towels and additional supplies daily. The hotel is in a great location just a short distance from Tamworth CBD. Our suite was delightful...very clean and tastefully furnished. The bed was super comfy. Covid-19 safe in hotel and restaurant. Hotel, restaurant and bar staff were wonderful. The Workshop Restaurant on site is a hidden gem serving amazing food especially loved the Jack Creek steaks. Overall a great hotel. Very highly recommended!

Having never been to Tamworth, we are glad we chose this hotel. The location is great as you can easily stroll to shops and eateries. The rooms are tastefully decorated with quality finishes and the shower pressure was the best we have experienced in a hotel in a long time. Rooms are clean and it’s nice to see a regional hotel that renovates their rooms. 3 televisions in the 2 bedroom suite and it is really quiet so you get a great nights sleep. Staff are very friendly and you have to eat at the Workshop Kitchen when you stay.

We stayed for 1 night in a 3 bedroom 2 story apartment. Our apartment was well-furnished , clean and very comfortable. The 3 bedrooms all had comfortable beds with extra pillows and even though the hotel is on a main road they were very quiet. The apartment also had a minibar, A-C, free WiFi, and 3 flat screen TV's (lounge and 2 of the bedrooms). It also had a lounge suite , dining table, wonderful large bathroom and 2 toilets( 1 up stairs and 1 down stairs. The Kitchen was well equiped if you wanted to stay in an cook.It had a couple of nice out door seating areas. There was no washing machine in the apartment but the hotel had a guest laundry.
We had booked a Gourmet Getaway package. So we dined at the Workshop Kitchen Restaurant for both breakfast and dinner. We were so glad we did as the food and service was amazing . Our package also let us enjoy a Dobson’s Distillery inspired cocktail .Our barman made us some wonderful gin cocktails that not only looked lovely but tasted great too. All the staff at the Power House in Tamworth were friendly and helpful.
We highly recommend the Powerhouse hotel .The service was excellent and having such an amazing restaurant on-site is an added bonus. We will be back next time we come to Tamworth.
