Just when you think you have stayed in nice accommodation before, then you stay at The Powerhouse !!! Do yourself the favor and experience this outstanding place. From the moment I walked in the door, I was greeted with smiles and the warmest of greetings by a lovely lady on her second or third day, very professional was the thought I had as I made my way to my room. The meals delivered to my room were delicious ( dinner and breakfast ). Thank you again, my husband and I will back.
Friendly and professional staff and a very comfortable rom with great amenities. The restaurant on-site was excellent, a fabulous steak and fabulous wait staff. Will definitely choose to stay at the Pwerhouse again when next in Tamworth.
Visited Tamworth for a weekend trip - and stayed at the Powerhouse. Really is the best country motel by a long way! It still is a "motel" as you can still drive your car up to just about your room (unless you are upstairs!) - but it really offers the comfort levels of many upper scale hotels. The check in was quick and easy (being Priority Rewards member and booking direct makes this an easier process) - with the rooms appearing to have recently been renovated - were really well fitted out. A lovely comfortable bed. Plug sockets and USB sockets in easy reach both sides of the bed, with a wireles charging device on one side too (a great touch BTW!). Another nice touch - the TV in the room has LED light strips behind the TV synced to the picture colours... made the viewing experience lovely. The bathhroom well laid out with plent of space and fitted to a high level. We werent able to get a restuarant booking for the Friday night (thats good I guess, as it shows the popularity?) - but having a G&T in the bar - was informed by the bar staff we could have dinnner in the bar. The bar area BTW is lovely - again, no expense spared in the hotel. The bar also had an incredible Gin selection (well done!) and extensive wine list - not something you expect in a country motel. The food was incredible. The steak, whilst pricey, was magnificent and justified the cost! Brekky in the morning is either continental - or full table service. I did have to ask for more yoghurt on my granola (lots of granola - not enough greek yoghurt!), and the wife suggested a little too much butter/oil used on her cooked brekky - but that was a minor issue really. This isnt the cheapest hotel in Tamworth (probably the most $$) - but sure will consider for my next stay in Tamworth next year,…
Stayed for 1 night as a mini break. Have stayed with Rydges all over Australia and am a member. We booked a 2br apartment. Rooms are modern and clean but small for an 'apartment '. Living area is in a shared bed space like a hotel room. Not really an apartment. Our first contact with the Hotel we requested late check out. Was granted 11am and told to check with reception on check in for a possible later time. The reception staff called the morning of check in and I asked again. That particular staff member was blunt and negative about my request. At check in, same staff and finally granted a noon check out but staff member was not welcoming. For a 5 star hotel its surprising to see them scrimp on toiletries. We had 2 adults and 3 children and we had to share one bar of soap, 1 mini shampoo, 1 mini conditioner and 1 body wash. There were no spare pillows. Usually Rydges has a pillow menu. Room service menu was difficult as you need to use a QR code to access the menus of which there are 5. You have to download the pdf each time and display it on your tiny phone screen. Then call reception to order. If the hotel wants to go digital then perhaps spend the money on the IT and allow guests to order online. Otherwise its cumbersome. Car parking at certain sections in the apartment area is difficult due to angles and lack of space. Overall its lovely to have a regional Rydges option but to claim 5 star without the same high calibre as the capital city Rydges is a bit of a stretch. …
Loved it our room nice and spacious and spotlessly clean . We had drinks in the bar and dinner in restaurant staff were helpful happy and friendly . Menu choices good and food delicious . Would definitely recommend hotel to friends and family
rooms excellent and nicely upmarket Service throught the hotel was excellent although the alcohol prices were up there Very comfortable surroundings with a nice luxurious feel Well worth the money and would stay again
My partner and I stayed at the Powerhouse Hotel Tamworth between 12 and 16 July 2022. Whilst the room very nice the service from the reception staff was ordinary. The reception staff member was bordering on being rude and not particuarly helpful. Maybe the staff member was having a bad day!
The location, staff, facilities, restaurant were fabulous! The coffee was very mixed, some mornings it was okay, but during my 4 night stay I had only one coffee that was as I ordered. I would recommend skipping the coffee here, and heading into town for a coffee elsewhere.
This is the second time I have stayed here. First for work. The motel rooms are great. The second time was in the king suite as a special event with my better half. The king suite room is excellent. However my experience with the reception service was disappointing for this second visit . We stayed 2 nights first introduction at reception was unexpected as my previous experience in the first visit was good. Errors in account was upsetting. The restaurant was disappointing, we were the final sitting. After being shown to our table and prior to us sitting I asked for a newly set table that was in a quieter corner this was not allowed. There were no other sittings that evening . One meal come out cold . This was returned and a new much hotter meal was provided. Meals were good.
Spent the weekend at Rydges in Tamworth for a couple of nights over the weekend. The decor of the room was great, and definitely had the luxurious feel of a 5-star hotel. We took this as a breakaway, so opted for the gourmet package which included breakfast, dinner/dessert and a cocktail each day, we thought this was exceptional value, and the steaks were perfectly done! Would definitely stay at the Rydges Tamworth, possibly even as a halfway point to Sydney, which makes a break from Coffs.
