Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is an older style motel, with older style decor. The room was clean, the host was nice and you have crockery, toaster, microwave etc, so great to make your own simple breakfast. However, for us the bed was terribly uncomfortable. We prefer a firm bed for our backs and the bed was soft and lumpy and we went away with back pain. If you like a soft bed then this would be ok. Not sure if it was just our room or if all the mattresses are like it. When I checked in the host said he had given us the best room. Made me laugh because I would say all the rooms would be the same!

Miss Kitty and I stayed two nights at this motel and were made welcome by the lovely hosts. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the location is within walking distance of supermarkets and shops. Also very handy to the Queanbeyan Hospital. We would stay again!

Thanks to the owner managers, going back to Queanbeyan was like going home. It is always clean and as it offers a microwave, toaster and kettle, breakfast is easy. I was welcomed in the nicest way and nothing i asked for was an imposition. Thanks to Bihm and the staff, I'll be back.

An older style Motel with large refurbished rooms. The bed was comfortable, the room and bathroom was clean, the shower was hot, all the things for a good stay. Traffic noise from the road was not noticeable ( our room was towards the rear ) and you could walk to the shops if you wanted. HOWEVER – CHECK YOUR ROOM WHEN YOU CHECK IN. You will be charged a $200 deposit at check-in which is to cover any damage to the room. We have never encountered this before staying here. The manager wanted to charge us for a rip in a curtain that was already there when we checked in. We convinced him it was an old rip and refused to pay. He did refund us the full $200. So check the room thoroughly – you have been warned !!

An quaint older style Motel with a generous sized room. Has been refreshed in the last few years. It has a very comfortable King sized bed with crisp, clean linen and plenty of pillows. There is a two-seater lounge that faces the TV plus a table and chairs for two with small plates, bowls and cutlery. Aircon was effective. Great hot shower with quality towels. Shower amenities are a bit below par, no body/hand wash and sachets of shampoo/conditioner. Overall a very impressive establishment with a smooth check in process and friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

We bought a motorbike in Sydney & it was on a trailer, we wanted security while we were sleeping. I rang this motel & spoke to Roz & she was super helpful offered to move their car so it was directly outside our room then they parked their car directly behind us so that it couldn't be seen from the road & couldn't be stolen. The room was very clean, the bed was king size & very comfortable, great pillows. Easy walk to pub. Overall great stay

We had a family room with a queen and a double bed. Was a bit old and tired but basically ok. The tv didn't work. The air conditioner was brand new but unfortunately didn't work. Everything else was fine although there was a distinct shortage of wall sockets and work surfaces. The location is walking distance to the centre of Queanbeyan and an easy drive into Canberra. I would stay here again but check out the room facilities first.

I found the place easy and it was close to all shops and the room was very clean and as a owner of a cleaning business the only thing that could be improved is getting a grout brush and removing the mould from the shower. Easy check in and out. Would stay again. Thank vicki

We have stayed here several times recently and have found the rooms comfortable and clean. The bed and pillows are very comfy. Tea and coffee available with cutlery and crockery for your take away. My only slight gripe is the curtains on the large windows. They are very old and thin and do not block out the street lights and light from the big Wallaby Motel sign. I woke several times during the night and thought it was morning.

Good for the price but don't let them have your credit card. They cannot be trusted. I noticed a charge for $16.00 on my account. They claim they don't know why the amount was deducted buy refused a refund. Pay a cash deposit to be safe and ask for a receipt. We will never stay there again. Petty theft. Information handed over to the authorities.

Response from Wallaby M, Manager at Queanbeyan Motel
Responded 24 Jan 2018
Hi Mr Kevin B, we are firstly wondering you have placed the review on the correct place, because we do not recall anyone called or came to us regarding the $16 charge. We do have $16 charge for washing service at our Motel however it must be done over EFTPOS ie customer has to physically placing/inserting their credit card into a EFTPOS, not manually entering, such that one must be aware of the charge when paying it. FYI at our Motel all transaction has to be settled before customer picking up room key or using the service. We do not charge against customer credit card without their written authorization. I completely understand your frustration and do feel the same when someone doing this to me, personally and did have similar experience with car rental, had to pay for unknown charges. However please making sure that you have contacted the right person, right place before making the review like this, although we are endorsing all customer reviews, but please do give business people like us a fair go. Furthermore if you contact your Bank, your Bank would not have the transaction details and refused the refund because it is a payment that you triggered from your end not the vendor party. Anyway please do feel welcome to contact me directly on 0262971533 to discuss the matter.
